>If you enjoy it, why can't you finish it?
because i enjoy doing other things too. i'm happy to put 40-60 hours into something nonstop for a week because I like it, but after that I want to do something else. If i didn't beat the game by then, I don't see the problem.
I don't see how that stops you from actually finishing the game especially when most don't tend to last over 20 hours if it's single player oriented. You can do this and other stuff as well if you are a bit organized, you know.
>I don't see how that stops you from actually finishing the game especially when most don't tend to last over 20 hours if it's single player oriented.
most of the games you play, maybe.
why would you enjoy a game but not finish it
that's like saying >don't have time for product because I have to consume next product even though I enjoy product bi bup bi bup
Yes. It never used to be a problem in decades past. It's only modern sissies that sob over games being too hard to finish because they absolutely need to know how the paper thin story ends. No they can't just go on youtube, because
It would be, except I already know that by "perfectly okay" this guy means he wants to pretend to be a fan of some series/pretend he beat the game and this is his way of justifying it. It's fine to leave a game unfinished, but it's not fine to leave a game unfinished and then pretend you played as much of it or were as passionate about it as the people who did finish it.
>game has 40 hours of """content""" before it rolls the credits that I won't read >gameplay loop is fun for 10 hours max >bought it super fricking cheap from some bundle site so I already got my money's worth >drop it and play one of the other 50 million PC games >"NOOOOO!! YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE GAME BECAUSE... YOU JUST DO, OKAY?!"
shut the frick up, dumb ass
>>game has 40 hours of """content""" before it rolls the credits that I won't read
loop is fun for 10 hours max
This appears to be most of the games I've tried to play of late. Fun initially, but then a few hours in you learn it's already played all the cards it had and the rest is just repeating the same shit until the end.
All games have a “gameplay loop” in which you go through a formulaic proceeding. All games are repetitive to some degree, it’s just a matter of whether you like that gameplay loop enough to finish the game. If a game has a formula that you absolutely love, then it doesn’t need to do much to vary itself up.
It may just be more the games I play don't bother to try and challenge you further after it's shown you everything. It just coasts along, and in a lot of game's cases, it's easier at this point because you have all of the tools at your disposal (hi Shadow of Mordor)
>Zoomer plays game >Complains how the game had too much gameplay when they just wanted to coom to the girls >Complains how they hated how their game had story and devs didn't add a skip button for the story >Goes to Ganker to b***h and whine about how the girls weren't big titty mommies wearing skimpy outfits
Gaming is fricking doomed
In 10 years "gaming" will just be watching a lets play of old games or watching games autoplay themselves.
>In 10 years "gaming" will just be watching a lets play of old games or watching games autoplay themselves.
Pretty soon its just going to be buying the game then letting an AI play it for you
Sounds moronic right but most gamers are actually like this. Go look at the global achievements for any game, chances are "beat the game" will be under 30, 20, even 10%. Even for supposed beloved games
Never fall for FOMO, let the cattle jump from the latest trends, beat your games, you don't have to get 100% all collectables all jiggies etc but if you like a game fricking finish it see the credits scroll or you're a homosexual
if the game is good not finishing it means i dont want it to end
but usually it's because life gets in the way and i have to stop playing it for at least a week
As much as the people of Ganker love Lobotomy Corporation, to the point of having stickies about it on april fool’s, I doubt there are many who beat it. I sure haven’t.
I don't really care but I think it's better to finish games if you enjoy them, so I do.
There is a phenomenon that is people who consider themselves gamers but won't actually spend much time gaming or finish a game. (probably 90% of gamer girls)
It's perfectly okay to admit that you don't really care about video games that much, and you find it a chore to finish them.
Yes.
Now subscribe to Game Pass, goy.
So much this. Just consume the new flavor of the month. You don't want to miss out, do you....
Yes, so long as you don't actually want to finish the game but can't bring yourself to. If you're in that boat you have a problem.
it's perfectly okay to do something normal in your own home
this message brought to you by microsoft(tm) xbox(c)
If you enjoy it, why can't you finish it? Sounds moronic to me and deep down you probably didn't enjoy it at that much or at all.

No, most of the that aren't JRPGs or pvp oriented games are like this.
i've done it before tbh, i put 60h into death stranding over the course of about 10 days and then just never played it again despite enjoying it.
It means it got too hard and you couldn’t mash one button anymore, so you proceed to use the “hurr adult no time” card
I put 20 hours into AC Valhalla last month and enjoyed those hours, but there’s not a chance in hell I’m going to play another 80 to “finish” the game
why would you enjoy a game but not finish it

Yes, but you'll have to deal with being called an ADHD zoomer, casual, secondary...
Unless it's an open-ended game like Minecraft or Terraria I don't see why you wouldn't want to know the conclusion of the game you're enjoying.
If you enjoy a game but never finish it, you really didn't enjoy the game.
It would be, except I already know that by "perfectly okay" this guy means he wants to pretend to be a fan of some series/pretend he beat the game and this is his way of justifying it. >not beating the game
You didn't beat the game.
that just means you didn't enjoy it
>Xbox humiliated themselves, their fans and destroyed their brand to sell 40 copies of a $20 game.

Content Black folk really have done irreparable damage to gaming.
There was nothing wrong to 5 to 10 hour "weekend rentals".
>>game has 40 hours of """content""" before it rolls the credits that I won't read
loop is fun for 10 hours max

Honestly, that describes most games on general.

I did this all the time as a kid, mostly because I got stuck.
I never actually finished a game until I hit my teenage years.

frick me dude lets go back
this timeline is fricked
>Play 2 games of a trilogy
>Start the third game
>Not enjoying it at all
>But I already played the previous 2
Sounds moronic right but most gamers are actually like this. Go look at the global achievements for any game, chances are "beat the game" will be under 30, 20, even 10%. Even for supposed beloved games
If you never got to the level 256 overflow glitch in Pac-Man then you didn't really enjoy the game.
This sounds like something someone who would profit from me buying more games than I have time to play would say
Exactly
Never fall for FOMO, let the cattle jump from the latest trends, beat your games, you don't have to get 100% all collectables all jiggies etc but if you like a game fricking finish it see the credits scroll or you're a homosexual
>complete a game’s main story
>do some but not all of the side content because you just don’t feel like 100%ing it
Don’t lie— Most people do what I just said with 90% of their favourite games.
>Death Stranding
>FFXV
>FFIX
>Hogwarts Legacy
>RDR2
>Outer Wilds
>Skyrim
>Spider-Man
Games I enjoyed but never finished. Ah well.

videogame discussion threads should check your achievements to see if you finished the game or not before letting you participate in them
200 hours in Persona 5 and P5R
Always get close to the end but never finish because it overstays its welcome
Of course the company with Game Pass would say this.
JUST BUY THE GAME
NO ONE CARES IF YOU ACTUALLY PLAY IT ESPECIALLY THE DEVS/PUBLISHERS
>JUST BUY THE GAME
no
I haven’t finished a game in 5 years
Yes, just consoom, actually playing games is time that could've been spent on looking at DLCs and cosmetics.
