Is this unironically game of the century so far? Because if you were to look at every video game released from the year 2000 to 2024, is there really anything that many people around the world would compare to its' high level of quality? I can't think of anything that comes close. This might actually be more than just game of the decade.

I liked it the first playthrough, but I can't bring myself through another. It was like an adventure of a lifetime that drained too much from me.
Which is weird because my first DaS playthrough was also long, but not so mentally tasking

I really like Elden Ring but I'm kinda tired of roll spam combat, I've replayed BB and Sekiro a ton and it was kinda disappointing to see that ER's combat is basically DaS3+. Something I love about Sekiro is how defensive actions (perfect parry and mikiri counter) still progresses the fight, so there never feels like there's any downtime. Bloodborne is more standard souls but sidestepping allows you to easily weave attacks into bosses combo cycles if you know their moveset well, it was very rare that I felt like I had to wait for my turn to attack the same way I do with souls; it also looks and feels infinitely cooler than roll spam. On the other hand ER is the same "roll 30 times in a row until they use a move you can safely punish, rinse and repeat" style gameplay that they did with DaS3 only 10x more spastic since the game was designed with spirit summons in mind, so playing summonless means there are just large stretches of the fight you can't do anything but dodge and it's just not engaging

i always give also a score based on how it would play if you didnt read wikis and shit and approach it blind, nothing compares to it in that regard also
