nigs are fine. The visuals, animation and controls feel great. The mechanics are trash.

Yes, because even though it had vortex, it also had invincible meterless reversals, so people couldn't just go full brain dead offense on you like in sf5 and sf6
even though i like all the three modern SF games the fact that there's situations in SF6 where you take less total damage by purposefully not blocking due to burnout into the opponent getting a guaranteed DI into stun is completely fricking moronic

i think the main problem with said scenario is that the wall hitbox is extremely egregious, you don't even need to actually be in the corner in order to get stunned by a DI

Doing a reversal with a standard wake-up meterless DP works just fine with Ryu (and probably Akuma and Ken). Should work with plenty of other characters DPs.
This is also in SFV and SF6 btw. So I'm not sure what that other anon was getting at with saying it didn't exist in those games.
You can reversal with meterless DP just fine as long as the DP's hitbox reaches the opponent's hurtbox before their attack hits your hurtbox (thus trading).
But the meterless DP is not invincible. It has a hurtbox all the way up.
Compare that to older SF games where dragon punches had some invincible frames on start-up.
Try to dragon punch through a fireball in SFV or SF6 with a meterless DP. Can't do it.
It is a good game but I really wish a final patch was issued that removed the Ultra cinematics unless they were are going to do enough damage to finish the match. They break the flow of gameplay and are boring to watch for the 10000 time when you play the game seriously.
