How much money zucc personally sent to the reviewer I wonder.
I have a quest, but I wouldn't even bother downloading that trash for free.

You’re currently missing out on the best part of VR, early adopters. If you had the chance to go back to pre-2007 internet would you? Because that’s the Wild West of VR in its current form. You’ve got people meeting up in VR exploring, partying and fricking!! How cyberpunk and cool.

Missing out on the best part of VR by having a headset, 4090 and playing every single notable vr game released?
And why are fricking lying btw?

VR culture is just degenerate zoomer culture turbocharged with autism, I don't see what the appeal is unless you already like what the internet has become. I sleep till there's more than 1 serious attempt at a real game instead of 5000 tech demos.

entry point is too high, that price for a setup is not something most people can afford, thus the games are not getting bought, so studios dont make vr games, there is simply no market.

I got a Quest 2 on Black Friday, and I've been enjoying it more than I expected to. Mostly been playing Into The Radius and fricking around with Blade & Sorcery.
I haven't "played" any of the social games for transexuals, but I did get chatted up by a Finnish woman whilst playing Contractors.

They were working on a cheaper "Apple Vision" model but I think the tech was too new to reduce the price so they delayed it and just went with the more expensive model.

VR should be at it's strongest in the arcade. I'd go out of my way to play VR at a place that had the full body tracking and an omnidirectional treadmill already set up.

      >putting a headset that was used by a shitton of nerds on your own face

        Anonymous

That is a difficult problem to overcome, but there are solutions. You could bring your own helmet to use the rest of the arcade's equipment, or the helmets could have disposable outer shells. There's also normal sanitation options, but I understand not trusting the arcade to do their diligence. A final extreme option could be sending the headsets to another business to sanitize and repackage like how doctor's handle their tools, but that seems impractical and expensive.

Bruh headsets are just going to get smaller and then problem solved. Have you seen bigscreen beyond? Shit is wild compared to the index. They are ultimately vying to replace your cellphone as your personal device.

            Anonymous

Yes, but that still doesn't solve all the other shit you need for an optimal VR experience and the space required for it. I don't care how much cheaper omnidirectional treadmills get, I will never have space in my home for one.

              Anonymous

Omnidirectional treadmills are kind of worse than just having a warehouse or other space much like there is for laser tag or paintball today.

                Anonymous

Real estate is the most expensive option though. Even worse because the larger an area you use, the more you have to set up for full body tracking.

                Anonymous

just go outside to a park
inside out tracking is plenty good, and getting better - Quest 3 just launched full body inside out tracking

                Anonymous

Sadly, and I explicitly mean for PCVR, it's meaningless until the Quest 3 is able to send this tracking data to SteamVR where VD, Air/Quest Link, and now Steam Link don't support this. People who want this feature explicitly wants it for VRChat and no one in the right mind should ever run VRChat in standalone mode unless they don't give a shit about 20fps

people are not going to ANOTHER device thats even more annoying to use than keyboard and mouse, that forces to completely change how they play their games
unless its super comfortable like iPhone was, its never going to happen, and even if it does its forever staying niche because of how you have to completely change games too much to make it work
