i mean the technology is there, but the problem is that you're pretty limited to a handful of generas with it. >first person shooter where advanced movement isnt a focus >melee version of that >"hang out simulator" >PORN PORN PORN
and thats just about it
The porn is more than good enough, though.
I'm glad this tech didn't come out when I was in high school. Would have dropped out for sure. I literally rubbed my dick until it bled the first month I had my headset, and I'm fricking married.
Live 3d cam girls actually have presence. Someone needs to train these prostitutes tho on how to work and not work a 3d camera (imo the should install like a distance laser marker of how close to not get) and stop putting them at low levels (I guess unless you're a tsundre enjoyer)
Wish they'd stop tryign to do cunnilingus in VR porn, it's just a fricking extreme close-up of a vegana. that's not sexy. what the frick am I supposed to do, waggle my tongue around to pretend I'm licking it?
>No you don't. You can walk or take the bus
Spoken like someone who lives in a shithole city. People who live in rural (ie non-shithole) places live too far away from stores to walk unless they want to blow their entire day every time they need to go out.
You're so close to figuring it out. Here's a hint:

My argument is that you're capable of understanding why a car has value even though teleportation might one day exist, but you're choosing not to apply the same exact logic to VR simply because one day something better might exist.
This is textbook cognitive dissonance. You're either unintentionally unaware of your own hypocrisy or intentionally shitposting.
Why did you need me to type this out for you?

You can't just "wait for teleportation" because lots of people NEED a car until it exists.
You CAN wait for full dive VR because there is not a single person on Earth who NEEDS a VR headset in the meantime.

Are you suggesting people are going to NEED full dive VR? It's a video game, anon.
Whether or not you NEED a car or VR is completely besides the point we're both trying to make.
The point is that just because something in the future is going to be better doesn't magically mean the thing we have now is worthless.
Was the SNES worthless because we would one day get the N64? Was the N64 worthless because we would one day get the Gamecube? etc

It's primary worth is in as a display. It's worth more to me as a projector/tv/monitor replacement ment than gaming l. I'm in it all day but I'm doing standard flat pc browsing stuff 80% of the time and gaming maybe 20%. That said even then gaming is still worth it for vr IF you have pc. Unless you need mmo or a deep rpg you can still find at least one good daily driver for standalone but all the actual fun is through pc mods
VR is pretty much dead right now. israelitebook blowing 10 billion on their shitty second life clone really ruined the industry. No one is developing games for it now.
I'm looking forward to Into the Radius 2, that Metro VR spinoff, a Warzone ripoff, and the Riven remake. So that's like 4 releases that are nominally this year.
Still a quarter-baked, its getting there but still needs another 15-20 years and I'm usually anti-VR or at least anti modern VR but even I can see the potential in it.
the problem is the games, people don't realize that they should just port regular games and give them vr controls instead of making a "vr experience" which is watered down as frick
I think it's worth it. The technology has a long way to go still, but what we've got now is a whole lot closer to the idea of being in a video game than anything else. Controllers and headset alone are enough to elevate expectations for how interactive games should be, and I don't think any existing video game manages to be completely satisfying in that aspect. VR games are more immersive, but there are still all of these things you expect to be able to do, and ways you'd expect the world to react, that match up with the existing games. The fact that there is that gulf I think demonstrates that VR is on the right track.
Its solid technology its just that depending on what you like it's very limited. I got the Index and for $1,000 as of right now I'm 50/50. I liked Alyx. I mainly play horror so those games are kinda limited. Phasma's VR is coded poorly, Backrooms straight up removed it a while ago and there are very few other horror games which I feel do it well. VERY few single player ones. I'm not a coomer so finding VRChat people to just talk to without ERP and shit is kinda difficult.
It will get there soon but if you can't justify dropping $1,000 on something that still isn't there then I would say skip it

DO AMERICANS REALLY
>The porn is more than good enough, though
Its not though. 100% you are just easily amused. Probably also thinks 3D porn videos actually look 3D.
Live 3d cam girls actually have presence. Someone needs to train these prostitutes tho on how to work and not work a 3d camera (imo the should install like a distance laser marker of how close to not get) and stop putting them at low levels (I guess unless you're a tsundre enjoyer)
Games where you operate a vehicle from a seated position work great as well.

I'm 37 and never seen a real vegana, so it's educational to me
It's not, most real looks like an Arby's sandwich
>that's not sexy
I've noticed that most heterogays do not like or are disgusted by veganas.
Does anyone know why?
Innie pussies are extremely hot
Outie pussies are hideous
This lol, a nasty set of curtains can ruin an otherwise 10/10 woman
Cause women are prostitutes these days and they come pre blown out
I'm not but you can deduce it from that anon's post. There's no way to simulate it like POV plapping
VR wont be worth it until we get full dive sleep VR
This, and also it's permanent and you never wake up
That's like saying the reason you don't own the car is because teleportation will be real one day
You NEED a car to do stuff
You don't need a VR headset
No you don't. You can walk or take the bus. Bike, or even ride a horse.
But what's the point? Just wait for teleportation.
>No you don't. You can walk or take the bus

Who cares? We just got a mod that lets you play VR with motion controls in 90% of unreal engine games.

It's worth it. If someone had to choose between a trip to the bahamas and VR, it'd be VR every time.
VR porn gets old very, very fast. Kinda neat at first though.
