Do you go into a dungeon at any point in the entire game? Then yes, it is a modern dungeon crawler as that is the only requirement according to steam tags.
Yes, play 3 you move like you're stuck in molasses compared to 1 during combat. Overkilling with united attacks is rewarded but it's also annoyingly long
nobody should overkill unless you want to play on easy mode you overlevel
game balance is wack and is very bland because of it, more fun planning and building your party then playing it. perma ressing with no punishment is stupid too, other games you couldnt do that
No shade but what's there to do in this game? I tried it and legit it was watching boring cutscenes with a boring artstyle and just walking to the other side of the map while engaging with boring combat
All you did was describe an RPG but add boring to everything. I haven't even played this weebshit but you could at least be a tiny bit specific with your criticism.
Or tell me an RPG you think is good so I can laugh when it also has boring everything.
At least in 1 the cutscenes left something to be desired but wasn't boring at least, the art style was great in the original and fine in the remaster, and the combat got pretty intense eventually (assuming you don't overlevel or use expert mode). Mostly the same with 2 so far. So no, not really.
>No shade but what's there to do in this game?
Enjoy the high fantasy environments but they're only good in the first two games when you're climbing humongous titans. The third game is set on a flat, boring earth-like world.
I thought exploring vast, open plains is pretty much the opposite of dungeon crawling
no its just a mediocre anime with a boring battle system.

I don't think genre names are literal descriptors.
Besides, many dungeon crawlers have forest levels and other outdoor spaces.
I really disliked how this game was so sluggish compared to Xenoblade 1 and X.
>sluggish compared to Xenoblade 1
Is such a thing even possible?

that's horseshit, 3 has quickstep and the regular movement is the same
The quick step is why regular movement sucks ass, it was faster in 1. Spamming quickstep over and over fricking ducks

Sounds like you just described every single RPG
I dunno what kind of RPGs (You) have been playing, but usually what he's described is not the case. At the very least it's not supposed to be boring.

That's the entire series

No it's boring MMO combat on a boring shonen story.
Dungeon crawlers involve dungeons.
Whoever made that pic does not have a happy life.
just think, this was made back when 4:3 was still the standard
if they make battle speed 4x and change nothing else I would be interested.
