tbf, the pause menu ingame has a built in notes section where you can make your personal notes. It even records basically every important bit of info automatically
Whats especially funny about DX is no one ever mentions unique moments from play throughs because the game is so comically linear. You either be violent or be stealthy and you either be nice or be comically mean. Either way it leads to the same shit till you choose the color of your ending.

Warren Spector admitted they didn't had shooting as gold as Half Life or stealth as good as Thief, so even back then it wasn't so good in those respects. And it's not like standards have massively improved since then.
What Deus Ex did great was giving players the options to approach problems in multiple ways, and in that sense it's still top notch, with only shit like the nu-Zelda actually trying to have more dynamic interaction with the environment.
The level design and theming in Deus Ex is still some of the best in gaming also. But that's because modern gaming is so shit they cannot even try to do better than making empty corridors and large empty plains.
