MegaMan's already incredibly niche compared to the likes of fricking Mario and Sonic, and Legends is a niche within a niche. On top of that its an ARPG riffing on Zelda, which is a format you dont see a lot of despite the high demand for classic 3D Zelda because they're fricking hard to make.
But I dont think the Legends fandom is interested in clones either, I know I'm not. The series had a story, and whats frustrating with the lack of a Legends 3 is that the cliffhangers from 2 will never be resolved. After 10+ years I've gotten over it and moved on, Capcoms never gonna make it, but even if you're someone whos still better some dude on Itchio recolorong Roll and Tron and calling their game 30XX Dash isn't going to scratch the itch.
>But I dont think the Legends fandom is interested in clones either
lol what a bald faced lie. you people were creaming your khaki shorts over infaune's RED ASH
No, by that point it had become clear he wasn't going to deliver with MN9 and the Red Ash kickstarter failed before he pretended to be bailed by a shady chink company.
>the cliffhangers from 2 will never be resolved
What cliffhanger was there, really? Getting Volnutt off the moon was basically implied to happen eventually, as soon as Roll and Tron stop their bickering and start working together on a rocket proper with Data. Hell, Legends 3 basically seemed to start with helping Roll finishing up the rescue rocket (iirc one of the shared screenshots had Roll asking about finding her screwdriver, to help with the rocket), so there wasn't too much there.
>But I dont think the Legends fandom is interested in clones either, I know I'm not.
This. Same reason I didn't give a shit about Yooka-laylee despite enjoying Banjo-Kazooie as a kid. I don't have some deep love for collectathons or whatever genre MML is. It's the characters, setting, and story of the original. Without that, I'm not interested. Don't give a shit about Red Ash either.
that looks fun but the camera is aids.
needs a lock-on (unless that's a soft lock-on in the webm) and maybe a proper 3D camera for melee especially to work
You mega man fans are insane.
There's literally over 130 of those fricking games. But one single one of them gets cancelled and you're still crying about it 30 years later.
so there are countless sm64 and 3d sonic inspired indie games. if mega man legends is so "beloved", where are the indie clones?
frick off with the indie bullshit
out of thousands of indie clones of big games, the only 2 that can rival their respective series are Project Wingman and Spark 2/3.
Everything else is shit
Hades/Grim Dawn
Team Ladybug/Team Cherry
Unmetal
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon
Gravity Circuit
Cave Story
Ultrakill
Heart & Slash
Cities Skylines
Starview Valley
>Spark 2 is ass.
The only problem was the controls getting slippery on loops
The fantastic music, level design and physics more than make up for it. Plus parrying stage hazards is fun as frick.
Then Spark 3 fixes all the control problems and refines it into being the best momentum based platformer ever made.
Even the combat is really good once it clicks. I finished the bloody palace mode in one sitting which I didn't expect to do at all.
Spark 3 is also one of the few games where I genuinely didn't want to stop playing and did a new game + right after beating it my first time.
I've done 3 complete playthroughs so far.
I agree that spark 3 is better but 2 is very good. easily better than any boost era sonic

You are out of your mind, the level design in Spark 2 is god awful. I remember finishing Spark 3 and wondering why I didn't like 2, only to replay 2's levels. They completely ruin the game.
At this point, I'm embarrassed for Capcom for attracting such a worthless fanbase.
These are the numbers that are supposed to convince Capcom that Megaman is a profitable franchise. Note that this barely changed in 2024.
I don't disagree with you that the series isn't profitable but expecting anyone to be interested in what is basically a rom collection of games that are two decades old with a terrible visual filter, built in save states and the bare minimum of an extras gallery with a price that's more expensive than DMCV is laughable.
The BN collection was their best effort, but it still had some capcom-isms >denuvo >can't turn off backgrounds, rip OLEDgays >ugly font
Nothing as bad as the input lag in the other collections or the 3DS legacy collection being stuck to 8:7
Not that anon, but he's presumably talking about the border arts you see around the game visuals. Since those are persistent, non-moving images, extended play sessions could risk some burn-in on the monitor.
>>can't turn off backgrounds, rip OLEDgays
Explain

They do? Damn, and I've been playing the Zero/ZX collection recently with borders on.
oled is such a fricking scam
I learned my lesson when my vita got the monster hunter UI slightly burned in all those years ago
I was so glad that the 'eck "2" was just an oled refresh so I could completely ignore it and be happy with my forever lasting LCD
From everything that was shown I wasn't happy with the art direction. I didn't like the new character desgins and I was worried they'd pretty much replace volnutt and roll, there was too much shading, muddy colors and details that it didn't have the same pop the original had with superflats & simple textures. It was looking like any other shonen anime game.
Just didn't look like it was gonna be a faithful follow-up to the original 2 and tron bonne. It was looking like shitty fan fiction that was gonna replace mega man with a zero once again, and I think in general that has always been the major problem with mega mans identity, inafune and capcoms obsession with replacing him with a character who is better and "cooler"
Taking the Mega Man out of Mega Man doesn't make me want to play Mega Man, just feels like the Mega Mans IP was used as branding to sell a bunch of spinoffs cause inafune wanted to make something that wasn't mega man, and he wasn't really responsible for the iconic parts of the franchise to begin with so i assume that played a role in watering the franchise down to a point it barely resembles what people like about it.
Literally all Inafricktard's fault. It tickles me that the moron got bailed out by Level-5 and they've had nothing but terrible luck since. The cherry on top is that he's not even allowed to have his own projects anymore, he gets told to sit there and be a name on the credits so the placeholders can be happy. The idiot has so much free time he's stuck shilling NFTs in the tard closet that functions as his "office". What a great future that scammer ended up building for himself.
I'm more than over it at this point. With how many years that have passed the only thing Capcom could do at this point is do a re-release of the first two Legends games and MAYBE if those sales prove strong, could possibly throw the fanbase a bone. Until then, no point on dwelling over how everything fell out.

can't speak for anyone else but I thought it looked like dogshit, ugly ass art style
No, by that point it had become clear he wasn't going to deliver with MN9 and the Red Ash kickstarter failed before he pretended to be bailed by a shady chink company.

Megaman is the clone. It a shitty combo of Metroid and Contra.
Most random ass bait post I've seen today
Indie devs are too intimidated with matching the cute shota character designs
Delta Gal is the only one I can think of
That looks awesome
that looks fun but the camera is aids.

A third legends-related game was released about the Bon girl
>Verification not required.
Japan only, I believe
I'm still waiting for X9
>ywn get to play mega man legends 3
>ywn get to play mega man starforce 4
>ywn get to play mega man universe
no it doesn't. nu Capcom would probably turn megaman into a gay black woman
You mega man fans are insane.
There's literally over 130 of those fricking games. But one single one of them gets cancelled and you're still crying about it 30 years later.
Legends is completely different from the others. It's basically its own series.
Yeah, same here OP
You Legendsgays have made at least ONE(1) fan game, right?

I'm hoping Rollin Rascal gets a better camera and some good level designers.

Spark 2's level design really isn't very good. It's one of the biggest improvements 3 made.

Maybe you should have crowd funded Red Ash™ and it's 11 million spinoffs by the Grandfather of Mega Man™ instead.

Black person, these games aren't bloated AAA messes. How much do you think Mega Man 11 cost to make?
Man people really hate Zero games that much?
Classic and X were released a longer time ago at a lower price point and have had more (and deeper) sales.
Several of those totals aren't even consistent with the info provided.

Legends was never good we never got a real 3D Megaman game which actually played like Classic/X truly sad.
For me? It was ZX3. I just wanted the conclusion to the Inti series of games. And to play as Prometheus/Pandora.

I'm still mad, not just because of Legends 3 but because Capcom cancelled every other new Mega Man game moving forward until MM11.
Ciel >>>>>> all
>making fun of the Kickstarter campaign for this game is what killed ScrewAttack
Victory, but at what cost?
Time to let it go man
Blame Inafune.
Get over it already, there was no interest.
