>sold well
LMAO
it sold like 1m on steam, and probably half of that on xbox store, and everything else is gamepass so basically 0 profit
add cost of the production, and cost of buying Bethesda, this the biggest flop of the decade, you stinky pajeet
>no it sold 7 million at launch
nta but that 7mil is mixed with gamepass. A more realistic number would probably be 3-4 million at best considering Palworld has literally double the reviews and the game has been out for less than a month.
Well eric the way it works is the same way as console subscriptions. See the reason the industry is in such a mess is because of asian style gambling addictions which lead to the creation of console subscription fees. Large companies have realized that since nobody can make games anymore (in part because of their influence) they're just going to go the way of television and ask everybody to pay a monthly subscription for dogshit content. It doesn't really matter how many dysgenics subscribe because it's usually more than they would make actually making games, which is also why consoles still exist in the first place.
This
Starfield broke the trust of normies, and due to being built in the dark without a design document is so fricking unstable it literally can't be saved by mods, so the core Bethesda people are out, too. Only the drones are in its court. Further, while 76 could be excused as an experimental mistake, Starfield is a public blemish on Bethesda, putting their all into something and coming out with this. This isn't even excusable by bugs, the core game, working as intended, is empty and fails to be fun on a basic level. The sheer amount of wasted potential, squandered resources, and lack of soul to frick up "the space game" this fricking hard, will haunt their reputation until the end of time.
Unless TES comes with a personal guarantee that Todd Howard will come to your house and suck your dick, they'll never recover from this. They will never have their name said with the same respect ever again, they will never have day 1 sales records again, and they will never be media darlings again.
You're so wrong it hurts.
Bethesda, and any AAA dev for that matter, will always come back because normalgays are mindless consoomers and will hype up and buy whatever they shit out. All Bethesda has to do is to release a trailer. TESVI or Fallout 5, it doesn't matter, morons will hype it up.
For fricks sake, people forgave them for Fallout 76 as soon as they started talking about Starfield. Starfield was CLEARLY going to be a shitty game, you could see how shit it was going to be WITH EVERY NEW PREVIEW and people still fell for it. People still hyped it up. People still believed in Todd Howard's lies. People still bought the game. People were disappointed that the game wasn't what they thought it was going to be despite it just being exactly what the trailers showed. People are moronic.
Yup, all Todd needs to do is go out on stage, roll the TESVI trailer and say "We've learned our lesson from Starfield" and everybody will eat it up, I can just see the YT comments >Yaaas, I loved Skyrim >Bethesda is back! >I'm so hyped for the new elder scrolls game >Starfield was bad but this looks amazing!
The cycle will never end
They're done as a company with integrity, the good will is gone. Same as CD Projekt Red, Bioware, and so on.
But they will still be making games 100 years from now when they upload Todd into a robot body. They're a corporate entity, they'll keep putting out slop and people will consume it
here is some info you wont hear anywhere else.
Cyberpunk wasn't broken, it was the consoles being to weak. It was Shareholders, not game devs, that pushed for early release.
It was great on PC. But so much for playstation quality control.
> Picture of room on fire with a dog saying " This is fine"
CDProjekt screwed the pooch with the Saints Row port and the console version of 2077. They are who they are.

Cyberpunk wasn't broken, it was the consoles being to weak. It was Shareholders, not game devs, that pushed for early release.
It was great on PC. But so much for playstation quality control.
>It was great on PC.
Frick off, no it wasn't. The game itself was a buggy mess through and through and even today it's barely up to where it should have been on release.
game was broken as frick, it was as buggy as fallout on release, played both. 77 has good writing, good worldbuilding, and after 4 years you can say it has good gameplay too. still unfinished, still only 1/3rd of the game promised.
>It was great on PC.
Frick off, no it wasn't. The game itself was a buggy mess through and through and even today it's barely up to where it should have been on release.
>Its why Cyberpunk was taken off the PSN Store when it was initially launched
lmao no. it was taken off PSN store because cdproject said they would offer refunds, which is against PSN store policy
It literally can't be.
It's built so badly that it's unsalvageable.
The work to unfrick Starfield is so all encompassing and exists on such deep levels that it would be a waste to not just start over and make Starfield 2. That is how badly they shat this bed. This isn't a No Man's Sky, where the basic building blocks of the game were fine, they were just assembled shittily. The basic building blocks here are fricked even before they were put together wrong.
>they >give >literally >ZERO >fricks
they always play the long game, they will continue to sell it for 20 years and make millions just like Fallout 76.
I assure you I also don't give a frick. I don't see the appeal of this game and my last TES game was Morrowind. It just amuses me that Ganker continue arguing about this when it's very clear that it is pointless.
Not this time.
The game's modding community is already almost dead, because the architecture of how the game is built is fricked. There's some dedicated people left trying for a miracle, and some small scale stuff going, but this game will not be the next Skyrim.
Mods can't fix it this time, and mods won't keep sales on life support.
> UI already fixed. > Aboriginal crowds already fixed. > Script compiler exists. > Mod Organizer exists. > xEdit exists. > Wryebash now exists.
Meanwhile: > CK isn't even out yet.
Yeah ok, bro. I mean my big gripe with it has already been fixed. So you're wrong, Swen. Sorry you had to downsize your company when the shilling bill came in. Funny, too how no-one cares any more. Not a lot of modding there, huh?
76 problem was how lonely it felt because of the lack of npcs and the bugs.
Starfield issues are on a whole new level where the bugs are far between and there's plenty of npcs around.
The game is disjointed and fundamentally boring. The gameplay loop is just not fun.
I'm certain their plan was not making dimes over 20 years. These games are supposed to recoup cost, give increase market share and fund the next projects in the future, including maybe a studio staff increase.
That is not what they'll get with Starfield.
Why do starBlack person defenders think that gamepass turns a profit for xbox?
It would take over half the population of india playing on gamepass to make up for how shit the sales were, and indians can't afford PCs capable of running the game.
The only people who liked Starfield are redditors who played 50 dynamic quests before realising they were randomly generated, and even they have already stopped playing it because the content present in the game is too boring and pointless.
Quest is doing great >has 3rd party exclusives >has 1st party exclusives >pckeks lust over both of them >easily hackable, meaning you don't even have to pay for games
Speaking as someone who only owns a phone, a Chinkboy and a PC: Sony fanboys are getting a bunch of Xbox ports soon.
I don't know if it was a leak or not, but a bunch of Microsoft's very few exclusives are going to Sony, most famously being Starfield and Hi-Fi Rush. If I remember right, a Starfield DLC was announced in the same reveal, but don't quote me on that.
People have been making fun of Microsoft all day. Social media sucks, but it's still useful to get info about shit so long as you're careful what homies you follow on there.
>check loverlab for the eventual coomer mod >at that point the only reason I would consider buying the game that I could mod it so could explore the galaxy in the search of hot alien to turn into bdsm sex slave >Even the mod screenshot have only ugly character in it with negative sex appeal.
There aren't any aliens that are remotely humanoid in Starfield, so unless you're into beast stuff you're not gonna find many 'hot aliens' because they don't exist in the base game. Best you'll probably ever get is a modded human body with elf ears and different colored skin.
I don't often feel that time playing games is wasted, since I'm having fun.
I wasn't having fun with Starfield.
Starfield felt like the equivalent of someone shitting in the street but for gaming.
A shame that this was supposedly Todd's magnum opus. A game that isn't enough of an RPG to really roleplay, not enough of an FPS to have decent shooting mechanics, and not enough of an autistic space sim to satisfy the needs of those who enjoy things like the Elite series.
>not enough of an FPS to have decent shooting mechanics
How the frick does Bethesda manage to frick that up when they literally had the backing of id software? Frick sakes even Cyberpunk has better gun combat and that's coming from a studio that only made Witcher. Meanwhile Todd had Fallout 3, 4, and even 76.
I do genuinely think it must be something to do with the Creation Engine at this point. They have creation club things for Skyrim that are basically guns and turrets and those are dogshit too.
>it's the engine's fault 😉
Bethesda is simply incompetent and have no talent in their teams. Blaming the engine is like saying someone is bad at painting because their paints aren't good enough.
They used to have talent for building a world that could capture the hearts and minds of people. I am a Morrowindgay, I'll admit, but the fact that they used to have worldbuilding in that game that lasted this long and is still thought of fondly says that they had some talent.
"Had" is the important thing here though.
the reaction to this game can be summed up as: zoomies first bethesda game. it's a next gen bethesda game, warts and all. not sure what you people were expecting.
>it's a next gen bethesda game, warts and all
Part of the fun in Bethesda games is side quests. Most of Starfield's are forgettable or poorly designed.
Part of the fun in Bethesda games is wandering around to find new shit to do. Starfield has a lot of empty planets with copy pasted shit, which makes them not worth exploring.
Part of the fun in Bethesda games is the feeling of adventure. Starfield breaks it by literally copy pasting shit and making traversal so dull it makes you want to fast travel everywhere.
NTA but all of it. You have parts of the dev team that don't communicate effectively, all building separate parts of the game. You have devs having to take out interesting mechanics because they don't fit in seamlessly, but it ultimately makes a game that has nothing unique about it gameplay-wise.
Combine that with producer and development leads that don't want to make any kind of crunch situation, you end up with a game doesn't have an awful lot. Procedurally made landscapes with a handful or assets is a lot easier to make than a few handmade planets full of things to do.
directors, the devs prove they can do something and have somewhat original ideas with ok execution. The world is pretty, the interiors are well designed and cluttered realistically, the aesthetics are nice, the voice acting isnt terrible.

in terms of company management, issues with production are almost* never on the employees (the only exception is when they are incompetent or obtrusive, lying about their skill level, not working at all or harassing other employees, they dont get to decide on what makes it into the final product regardless of how well or bad they did their personal assignments, which they also dont decide), but on the management teams, this is like 101 when you start being responsible for other people, employees either a) can't, or b) don't know how to, either of is not their problem, its yours, you have to teach them or change their assignments. If you task an employee with an assignment they are not capable of delivering, it's your fault as a manager or boss for not assessing and applying the operating capabilities of your team. If your team isnt good enough it's also your problem for not acquiring the right talent to cement your vision.
speaking directly to this game, it's direction. the management team may or may have not done a good job with their specific assignments, as far as I can tell most of the game, mechanically is quite alright, the guns shoot, the bombs explode, the people talk, maybe not up to industry standard for the caliber of game they are making but I wont comment on the specific details, I think the broader picture demonstrates that the director, lead writer and producer(s) of this project did not know or care, or are incompetent in executing their vision.
I use the word vision more than once because the whole point of directing and producing is that you see something in your mind and want to make it real, i dont know what the frick todd howard and emile pachinkopenis were smoking because I can't
qrd on the Eric lore? I noticed these threads stunk of samegayging but I still can't quite believe someone would spend every day for 6 months posting threads shitting on a single game
eric's a turbo aspie moron with a vpn that changes his IP every post and talks to himself. He's been doing it for over a decade for attention. He's made pretty much every starfield thread on Ganker and this thread is him desperately trying to get people to take his 7 month old bait. He also shilled BG3 and spammed most of the gay bear threads, he shilled Cyberpunk too.
Oh don't forget elden ring, he shills that hard too, he's also a loretroony (of course) and has an autistic breakdown if you point out that none of elden ring makes sense
Starfield is so shit with full context it's actually unbelievable. Consider the facts that:
1. Unlike some garbage like Redfall and Anthem, this is Bethesda making a game that's their speciality and using their own engine they've been using for decades. In fact this is the ONLY kind of game they've been making for decades and the ONLY engine they've been using for decades, and they still fricked it up somehow.
2. This is supposed to be Todd's ultimate passion project he's been talking about since usenet days, and it's STILL a complete trainwreck with zero soul.
Some things are just too ambitious to ever make happen the right way. It also doesn't help that development is full of troons, women, homosexuals, and pajeets
Starfield is the most soulful game released in 2023. It's literally a man's passion project and a culmination of decades of experience and it absolutely filtered people. Now he'll be forced to go back to making slop for the masses. How depressing.
So many dumb people here falling for a rumor
If it were true then Sony wouldn't have been so assblasted and defending the acquisition of Activision through such a lengthy process worldwide
It wouldn't even make sense, nor for MS to have spent so much on lawyer fees to defend it if this was going to be their "plan" just a few months later
You people are so desperate without games that instead of criticizing Sony for resting on their laurels and making you look like fools in need of a coke hit lmao
Delusion
Sony underestimated how impatient MS's know-nothing suits are. It's hardly the first time these giant tech companies dump shitloads of money in something, then abandon it if it doesn't become the biggest thing on earth overnight
With such logic then the original Xbox would have been their last console
Use logic
Your bias is showing
Multi-trillion dollar companies don't flip around aimlessly from month to month
Today I have no idea, nothing obvious anyway. It was a musing I had back when Skyrim was released, and I suppose there would have been more options back then. And yeah, obsidian would have been great given how NV turned out but now it's just a pipe dream.
I do feel that BG3 showed that there is still a big enough market for people who want thoughtful RPGs. The issue with Bethesda is that they want huge 20 million sales theme park games and I don't think they have the capacity to even make something as shallow as Skyrim these days. It takes Bethesda longer to release worse games now.
>hahahaha look sisters (teehee get it? it's le irony and le troonism XD) our epic reviewbomb campaign was le epic win XD >now let's repost the thread 12 times a day every day I'm desperate for validation
todd will redeem
hold the line starsisters
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DO NOT REEDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMMM

Bethesda is unironically done. They will actually never come back from this.

Does that include getting it with amd purchases?
check yourself before you shrek yourself
>biggest flop of the decade
>ME:A was delegated to a B-team without main release experience for this
gamepass makes money moron, microsoft pays per hour played, Starfield made billions
Don't talk to Eric, let him keep talking to himself
So, microsoft A is paying microsoft B? Uhh I dont follow, or is it literally everybody else getting less money?
Well eric the way it works is the same way as console subscriptions. See the reason the industry is in such a mess is because of asian style gambling addictions which lead to the creation of console subscription fees. Large companies have realized that since nobody can make games anymore (in part because of their influence) they're just going to go the way of television and ask everybody to pay a monthly subscription for dogshit content. It doesn't really matter how many dysgenics subscribe because it's usually more than they would make actually making games, which is also why consoles still exist in the first place.

Will be even more based when the PS6 is digital only
it was taken off of PSN because sony didnt want to give refunds.
Go look at some of the shovelware in the store and say that again.

I enjoyed the game, just waiting for the update.
Haters stay hatin'.
There's no update, jokes on you paypiggy.
Shattered Space will be a game changer.
Only if they add alien space babes.
All Todd had to do was add frickable aliens.
We can't have that in nu Western game development. All women should be diversified she boons
Making hot women is illegal

How did it get to this sonybros?
There's 1 crore players on gamepass and it won the XBOX awards, seethe snoy.
This game was so fricking boring. 7 hours in I deleted it, everything about it was such shit. Not being able to actually fly to planets pissed me off.
What happens when this game comes to Playstation and the tards no longer have the immediate "SNOY" recourse? (I own zero consoles)

Yea, it's been Renderware all along.
They renamed it for Skrum and again for Starf.
Like CoD used the Quake 3 engine until like Ghosts.
He fricking won.
what would you do to Improve this game
make another game, but good
start over from the drawing board, and use idTech
Game's beyond saving, on a fundamental level. TES and Fallout had cool lore and universe and aesthetics, Starfield has none of those
Fricking paki basterd benchods, this is all your fricking faults! I frick your mader! Starfields is good game! Fricking maka bul!
Will they stop hiring indians or are they just too cheap to give up on?
slaves only do what they are told, blame the israelites who use them w/o oversight
>will massive company give up dudes who work for almost no money
gee, I wonder!
the reaction to this game can be summed up as: zoomies first bethesda game. it's a next gen bethesda game, warts and all. not sure what you people were expecting.
>next gen bethesda game
kek, graphics worse than fan-made Skyrim mods.
>it's a next gen bethesda game, warts and all
Part of the fun in Bethesda games is side quests.
Who's to blame though. The shit team of developers who just do the bare minimum? The directors/producers? Microsoft money?
>Todd, your game rating is.. no no no no
Go Woke Go Broke.
Death Grips are the most Reddit band since The Smiths.
How do you know? What are you, some kind of redditor?
I FRICK THE MUSIC I MAKE IT CUM
lmao the stinky poojeet mod got mad over this one
Is this the Eric talking to himself thread
qrd on the Eric lore?
Just HOW?
Some things are just too ambitious to ever make happen the right way. It also doesn't help that development is full of troons, women, homosexuals, and pajeets
that's some bona fide copium
how so
Eric doesn't understand your question, please rephrase it and try again
>it didn't be good because list of reasons even though I wanted to good
that's the definition of coping
Why does it have to be good again Eric? Because you've spent 7 months talking to yourself about it being bad?
t. poo in the loo
you forgot the memearrow hahaha what a loser
Delusion
Eric is mentally moronic yes. He posts twitter rumours here and then samegays
she got fat
That's hot
Sony underestimated how impatient MS's know-nothing suits are. It's hardly the first time these giant tech companies dump shitloads of money in something, then abandon it if it doesn't become the biggest thing on earth overnight
With such logic then the original Xbox would have been their last console
Use logic
Your bias is showing
Multi-trillion dollar companies don't flip around aimlessly from month to month
I was hoping Bethesda would just make looter shooters till the end of days and lend out the ES games to another studio.
>lend out the ES games to another studio
wish granted. get ready to enjoy an amazing Elder Scrolls 6 by Rocksteady
What studio anon? Honestly interested because I can't think of any that would work. And don't say Obsidian because they're not what they used to be.
It takes Bethesda longer to release worse games now.
>hahahaha look sisters (teehee get it? it's le irony and le troonism XD) our epic reviewbomb campaign was le epic win XD
>now let's repost the thread 12 times a day every day I'm desperate for validation
Redeem the Dalle 3
I at least give them credit for not using the 'review bombing' clause to get the reviews removed, like The Suicide Squad devs did.
>yfw you didn't buy, pirate, "pass", play, or believe in Starfield
>Game's description is literally just "We made these other games!"
It's amazing how far up their own ass they are.
