Just play the fricking game and earn coins like a normal person. The game had 8 dlcs for free.
Getting coins now is painful as sin, if you don't have friends for online cheesing daily earnings you're never going to get enough to unlock anything, and in general the entire shop end's been altered to make sure you spend RL cash for enough coins to honestly get anything.
To be fair, the game is fricking dead now. It's a shame. You or anyone that wants to be a completionists should've played it in 2019-2020. I haven't played it in over 2 years and I doubt you can find a full lobby now. The online was fricking awful anyway because of the load times, part of the reason I quitted.
>and in general the entire shop end's been altered t
You are fricking moronic and don't know what you're talking about. Not only has nothing about the prices ever changed, they even added the free golden wumpa worth 200 coins that appear every 6 races. That shit was not there from the start.
It's a good game, you being a massive sperg about cosmetics won't change that. Besides the MTX in Nitro Fueled are far less moronic than the payed map packs for Mario Kart, and yet I don't see you losing your shit about that.
Right so now you're resorting to nitpicking about spelling because you got backed into a corner and don't have shit to day. Why don't you gays just go back to playing fricking mario kart

i don't give a shit about mario kart why do you morons always say mario kart
is it because you're all the same people and these threads are always made by the same few obsessive autists? hmm nah couldn't be
He's not nitpicking about spelling, he's laughing at you because you for being an underaged moron who used the wrong word because the magic squiggly lines that pop up when you make a typo didn't tell you that you were a fricking moron this time.
Because we have nothing better to do with our lives than seethe and scream and rage about Crash. He once posed a slight threat to Mario and that sent us off the deep end, you know how we always attack anything that might make Mario look bad.
the AI on hard is inhumane in this game, idk what I'm missing but I can 100% the single player on normal but can't not come in last in the first race on hard
>idk what I'm missing
Chaining your boosts and keeping sacred fire and USF is what you're missing.
Play the time trials in arcade mode against tropy to train yourself, after you beat tropy you unlock oxide times. Beat all the Oxide times and you'll be a certified speed autist like everyone kicking your ass online. After you beat Oxide you'll unlock Velo times, after you beat Velo times you'll unlock Dev times. Not many people get that good
>after you beat Velo times you'll unlock Dev times. Not many people get that good
Feels weird to know that apparently I was better than 99% of players. I thought the dev times were easy.
I was thinking the other day, anyone else think the recovery time after falling or getting hit by an item (except the green beaker) is excessive? This is a game where losing your blue fire and all your speed is already really punishing, what is the point of also making you stand there bouncing for like 4 seconds or being slowly placed on the ground by the mask? Doesn't seem properly balanced for multiplayer.
I prefer Nitro Fueled for its larger variety of content and streamlined blue fire mechanic, but it's a really close call, and the original being decompiled is great news all the same. If I were to rank the kart racers I've played, I would just lump the original and NF together into one spot.
Set up a local tournament and make it happen. Competitive popularity is one step away, and all it takes is you realizing that you can make it happen yourself.
Activision should've made it so the game would get the online issues fixed and shortening the loading times instead of treating it like a disposable cashgrab.
The game in general is poorly balanced, the game had one foot in casual kart racer and another in more skilled based play, weakening the experience for both sides. There fact there was no ranking system made every lobby such a mixed bag of players it wasn't much fun for anyone. There should have been a no item mode/ranked mode for the tryhards, and the items needed to be stronger to help level the playing field in casual. It sucks because there is such a good kart racing foundation that had a lot more potential.
Well their hands were kind of tied by virtue of it being a remake. You either stay faithful and do what you posted or change things and piss of 90% of the playerbase who now think you're ruining their childhood. Too bad we'll never get a sequel AGAIN
They made a few changes to the item balance post launch and I think almost everyone considered the changes positive. Playing at launch was hell with the amount of clocks and black holes happened every match.
Not really. Frontrunning was always too good in this game to be a serious multiplayer game. Its strength lies more in the large amount of singleplayer content.
Did they ever patch players being able to run away from the blue turtleshell orb? I remember launch online there were races where the player in last place could launch it and the first place player could still outrun it for laps
>Too bad we'll never get a sequel AGAIN
I wouldn't completely throw in the towel yet. Crash 4 underperformed and rumble is looking to have generated no hype what so ever. Meanwhile twitter is still full of people begging for CTR on PC whenever a new crash announcement is made. I've also heard a very loose rumor that Beenox might be working on something again
>There fact there was no ranking system
But there was, there's a hidden MMR system that makes high skilled players more likely to end up with other players of similar skill. The matchmaking sometimes adds people below you or above you to fill out the lobbies though.
I rarely was able to find players that were at the same skill level as me, there were sometimes one or two in a match, but from what I remember most players were much less experienced than me.
I was there the first week and by the time the last grand prix update was out, I never had a balanced lobby, the online experience was me and other two random tryhard dudes getting podium and DNFing the rest of the players.
Well their hands were kind of tied by virtue of it being a remake. You either stay faithful and do what you posted or change things and piss of 90% of the playerbase who now think you're ruining their childhood. Too bad we'll never get a sequel AGAIN

I want a completely new CTR but I'm not feeling hopeful at this point
I wouldn't imagine we'd be getting one, at least not in the near future anyway. Although I'd happily take a new game as long as it was a sequel to CTR:NF
I still have no clue. I get that they probably don't want to maintain the servers or whatever and the MTX didn't perform as well as they wanted, but surely having a PC version making some money just from sales is better than making no money?
I seriously doubt they didn't make mad bank on the mtx considering the game sold like hotcakes on 3 different platforms and it still has an active playerbase
It just makes me wonder why support was dropped then? The game didn't even get a full year of post launch content, which I'm not complaining about, most of the new content was great, but if it was still making decent money, why did it end? If they thought it had potential to continue to make money, why isn't it on Steam?
A good point in that the mtx would make continued support viable if the playerbase were still engaging or new customers were jumping in at a good volume.
>It just makes me wonder why support was dropped then? The game didn't even get a full year of post launch content,
I mean 8 new tracks and a shitload of new characters and voice actors being called in is a lot more post release support than other games get. I think Activision probably just got sick of paying for an entire studio to keep developing a game they've already released. >but if it was still making decent money, why did it end?
Because Call of Duty makes more money and before Beenox made CTR this is what they were the most known for. >If they thought it had potential to continue to make money, why isn't it on Steam?

I'm from Xbox and occasionally play on the night, I find a lobby pretty quickly each time, not a full one tho, like 6 players
Not at all. With no comeback mechanisms or means of engagement that'd allow for effectively turning a race around, the best it had was maybe speed-running potential. That isn't saying anything, because racers generally have time-trials.
Not really. Frontrunning was always too good in this game to be a serious multiplayer game. Its strength lies more in the large amount of singleplayer content.
Most people seem to attribute it to hacking potential, the fear that people would circumnavigate the MTX, but all of Activision's other games are still on PC so it don't make much seance to me.
I think it has nothing to do with hacking and mtx like some anons have said, I think the biggest reason Activision hasn't ported CTR to PC is because they don't want to pay for the servers they would need to support the online and they can't rely on the steam servers because they prefer to release their games on Battlenet because they don't have to pay Steam anything and it's good advertising for their other games
My only gripe with the game is the lousy online. Many other problems like phantom items or bowling bombs way off to the side hitting you would be solved with better connections. It is the first online Crash game though
just wait for the PC port of the original
never happening
the ps1 game is better
they're equally good for different reasons

I think it has nothing to do with hacking and mtx like some anons have said, I think the biggest reason Activision hasn't ported CTR to PC is because they don't want to pay for the servers they would need to support the online and they can't rely on the steam servers because they prefer to release their games on Battlenet because they don't have to pay Steam anything and it's good advertising for their other games
My only gripe with the game is the lousy online. Many other problems like phantom items or bowling bombs way off to the side hitting you would be solved with better connections. It is the first online Crash game though
>PC port never ever
I just want to play the game at 60 fps
How long until emulation?
Switch emulators already run it but doesn't fix the load time problem even on SSDs
