I don't think so, 2 has the map from the first game and a new one. The graphics are better and Kat has more cute outfits. The story mode is a lot longer though, kinda ends up dragging by the end.

Overall yes. A quality vs quantity thing, 2 had way too much padding.

different experiences. OG is more straightforward with some segments of limited open world. 2nd game is full openworld.

In all brutal honest, Gravity Rush was a bit of a mess. The story was all over the place, the city didn't have enough in it worth finding to fully explore, and the combat of gravity kicking something to death got very repetitive before the end.

Yet despite it all, I really loved it. It's my go-to for a game that's more than the sum of its parts, because something about the creative and whimsical nature of the setting, characters, and traversal mechanics all just puts a smile on my face. I just thought it was fun, and Kat's still one of my favorite protagonists in gaming.

I'm convinced this series is a meme. It was a slog where you slid around an empty map like an autist and that's about it.

Similar. I remember being enraged by how simplistic it was vs the online hype. ALL Vanillaware games suffer from the exact same false hype. Certain fanbases are just insane, and ruin things for others.

This game was so overhyped by Ganker. I have few uses for my PS Vita, even after I hacked it, but I got bored of this game quickly. The idea is cool, but the environment just feels so mundane and lifeless.

    >tfw GR2 had some very simple (but nice) live service features that Sony shut off after only a year, and you cannot 100% the game anymore

And now we're getting a cheap 4-wall Gravity Rush movie that looks absolutely hideous.

    gravity kick: the game
lets be real story and characters are a mess, combat is barebones, no side missions beside the dlcs ones, challenges are shit except the ones where you have to race using gravity slide
but yes theres some occasional good music here and there but thats about, mercifully its short

To me, the game kinda feels like an anime. The story is riddled with cliches and even a healthy dose of yuribait, but everything is so creative I'm just into it.

It's a free add-on from the PS Store, also some other outfit that looks ridiculous and she's just wearing panties. Spent a ton of time looking at her panties in the school uniform and then I realized there's a 2B outfit with a thong

I wanted to like them. The character designs were appealing, the environments were really cool, maybe not always in execution, but had the right idea. Kind of a mix between that super-busy Tekkonkinkreet style and alternate-universe WWII Europe like Sky Crawlers or Last Exile. But despite my best efforts to enjoy them, I found the games rather boring to play and wanted them to be over even before the halfway mark.

Who's the artist? I think we can both agree the concept art is almost better than the game itself. I give GR2 props for its fantasy world, anime games come and go but few match the vibes.

That one's from the movie Tekkonkinkreet, well worth checking out for the art alone. Reminded me specifically of this section in GR2.
