It is entertaining to watch with your children or nephews. Chapters 3 and 4 are the only genuinely bad ones (very bad), but the overall balance is positive. I think it got a lot of hate from people with ridiculous expectations hoping his fanfic delusions would come true.
Plus it's Ash's last series, that shitty ultra-exploited character is never coming back again. Shit, in Journeys he made me despair because he didn't have an ounce of personality.
Journeys felt like such an anticlimax since Ash was just "strong trainer" so his wins didn't have the impact they once did
Does anyone remember anything about Journeys? The relationships were mediocre, one-dimensional and forgettable. It was all very boring. While this was partially happening since BW, Journeys took it to a new level. So many characters, so many gym leaders and champions, and everything so boring, bland and family friendly.

What do you expect? It's aimed at the kids after all.
I don't mean it in "that" sense. OS was also aimed for children but had more dynamics and flavor in the relationships of the characters. Journeys is the height of one-dimensional and generic because everyone is good and politically correct. There is no spark, no sauce, no nothing. A lot of characters paraded and I don't remember anything about them. They're just nice guys and that's it, their personalities are described in 1 line.

Honestly I enjoyed it more than Gen 6 and 7s anime. Mainly because there was more of a focus on the Pokémon world, Pokémon themselves and the people in it.
The thing I remember most is the anime making a big deal about Ghosts being strong against Psychic types, so I tried catching a Haunter to beat Sabrina like in the show and got my ass kicked because of its Poison typing and the dogshit moves available.
Ghost type was also bugged in Gen 1 and didn’t even work correctly. Womp womp.
MPM was meh, but at least that shitstain non-character G*h wasn't in it.

Guzma as an entry massacred a former league competitor, but three pokemon and that doesn't matter at all.
