You can post emulated screenshots all you want, it's still not up to current standards. A console released more than 20 years ago is a good point of reference if a game looks dated.
I love how mid 2000's games looked. To me that's the perfect level of graphical fidelity we should have. Anything more than that and it loses the magical feeling of playing a video game. I don't care about cinematic experience and real life graphics, just give me a good artstyle and decent graphics like those mid 2000's games used to have. Also, those games didn't have all of the visual pollution modern games have, there actually is such a thing as too much detail and clutter.
Theres a clear upgrade in characters models for most games in the PS3 gen. There hasnt been that clear of a jump from PS3 to PS4 to PS5. Like FF7 Rebirth for example looks about the same as a PS3 era game. It doesn't look that different visually from FF13. Therefore games should just aim for PS3 era ish graphics and focus on gameplay and content.

I was lucky enough to have the PS2 and Gamecube. I'm surprised more people didn't get a gamecube as a 2nd machine as it got really cheap. You could get it for 50-100 bucks new like 3 years into its life.

RE4 cutscenes are prerendered on Playstation 2. That screenshot isn't even RE4 running in a PS2 emulator.
i don't know if those are PS2 games but sure look like it. although most likely through some emulation software

PS2 games upscaled to 720p on emulators is the farthest graphical fidelity should have gone, any past that is unnecessary.
