the reason they made so many fire fighting starters is because the fighting type basically completely invalidates the fire type in terms of offense - which is what both types excel at
by giving you a fire and fighting type rolled into one you'd have no reason to ditch your fire starter for a fighting type that can basically deal with every single threat better

I liked it when gen 4 released but I utterly don’t care about it now. I find Infernape an incredibly boring design. It’s just a monkey with shit tacked onto it instead of something creative like Blaziken or even Incineroar. At least it’s not outright terrible like Emboar though.

So obviously Blaziken is the best Fire/Fighting starter, and arguably the best designed Fire starter of all-time. It's got the perfect blend of multiple concepts subtly integrated into one coherent and imposing creature.
Then you get to Infernape and it's like it's just a monkey on fire with some armor pauldrons here and there. You have to be told "we meant for this to be a Sun Wukong reference" and after that there is no more depth to be found anywhere in its design. It's pure pandering to a little boy's sense of aesthetics.
Now finally you move to Emboar, and it must be said that a sumo pig is an idea that's very easy to get behind considering the 2 parts here share a lot in common. But then you have to look at the execution: the bipedalism, the overly big belt, the fire scarf---it's just poor execution all-around. They took a very simple idea with promise and went in an unappealing direction with it. While Infernape lacks depth, it made up for it in looking cool to a child---Emboar really doesn't even have that going for it.
Blaziken is both cool and deep. That's why it's head and shoulders above the rest.
I guess I see your point but I just dont see how the bipedalism, the scard, and the belt dont work... The way I see it they work perfectly in Emboar

I don’t like Emboar because of how busy the design is, or maybe how bold and dominating the busy features are. Which is a shame, because Tepig is top tier and Pignite is good too. I think I have a similar opinion of the Samurott line, I think the first two mons are good to just fine, but then don’t like the capstone. Serperior is just superior imo.
I definitely prefer Torterra and Empoleon to Infernape as well.

He's meant to be a Mexican wrestler, not a sumo. That's the only reason I'll give the cruft a pass- I don't personally like it, but as a design, I get it, it makes sense.
Blaziken is only better in the sense that it's a more traditional Pokemon design, aesthetically I just never felt right about it. It would be better if it had big imposing talons and the feathers looked like flames etc, with a more dynamic posture. Instead it just looks badly proportioned, like the artist just thought "frick it, I'll have this character wearing baggy ass Jnco jeans so I don't have to draw any feet".
Monkey is the least creative of the ideas, but aesthetically I think the most successful. Purely in visual terms, it just looks better.

Blaziken was created as a huge gamble because Masuda wanted pokemon to survive as a brand and not be just a passing fad. He told Sugimori to create a starter pokemon that could be either someone's favorite or so ugly that it could be easily discarted and no one would miss it. It's THE prototype shillmon, the FIRST one of them all. Not that Blaziken is all that bad, but it's existence served as a teaser for the design direction the games were going to inevitably take.
Not being contrarian but I never liked Blaziken's design. I like Pignite much more than Emboar but Emboar is fine. Infernape is alright.
