both amazing games but carbon has more fun things like canyon, drifting and better challenge mode that gives fun rewards and brutal cops. it's also shorter, therefore less grindy and it has less bullshit npc cars that fricks your shit up. most wanted has drag racing which is pure ass.
i own them both 3 times. mw black edition for ps2, mw classic and original retail for 360 and then carbon for PS2 and retail carbon for 360 as well as the collectors edition.
Drifting in Carbon is an absolute cakewalk. Just turn off your brain for the whole challenge. Would have been better without it.
The art direction, soundtrack, and the goofy ass characters with the face cams are soulful.

Carbon only has the Canyon races as saving grace otherwise it is Unequivocally inferior, mostly because they shrunk the scale of the map and the movement is slower as a result.
You CAN feel the speed in the highway segments of Most Wanted, but not in Carbon, the speed lines mask this.
MW is just an overrated POS because it's popular, sole reason why this fact isn't talked about is because it was most people's first (and last) NFS game. Same with Burnout 3.
