It won't be long until people start looking fondly back on the times spent playing on their phones the same way people in the mid 2000s looked back on the NES or Genesis.

I've been nostalgic for classic Android games ever since they removed Gun Bros from the Play Store in 2018 and made it so not even the APK would work due to Facebook integration.
I don't agree. We look back fondly on those consoles because we spent a lot of time on them making memories. Phones games you play for 5 minute bursts. It's not enough time to form memories
You know it to be true.
>Phones games you play for 5 minute bursts
Black person kids spend their whole day playing genshin or roblox on their phones. You stuck in the past? You think phone games are still just Snake?
You realize if you FtP genshin you maybe have 3 hours of content tops before exp gains drop to the point it’s not worth it, right?
No kid is playing genshin all day. They go to Fortnite or pubg
If you start genshin today you could probably play for 200 hours straight and not run out of content.
homie progression is literally timegated if you dont fricking pay. wdym about playing 200 hrs straight?
He's probably already spent over 10k on anime jpgs, so he wouldn't be able to know anyways.
>exp gains drop
You've never played a gacha in your life have you? You level up characters by using XP granting items (that drop from chests), not by killing mobs. "exp gains" from mobs are basically just an easter egg. There's no gating in Genshin, you can start now and play all the way to current story, doing no farming at all. Just the shit you pick up on your quests will be enough to level and equip your characters.
Crazy I know
Sounds like absolute dogshit. What is wrong with the people who tolerate this?
Mobs drop mob materials that you also need to level up, so you still farm mobs, don't worry. Now it's a 10/10 right? You love farming mobs don't you, apparently
>you've never played a gacha in your life have you?
No I havent
character ascension mats are literally resin locked. unless you want to get stuck at WL1 theres no fricking way youre progressing through the game without eventually getting timelocked by resin
you are literally timegated by resin unless you pay, moron.
>You stuck in the past?
OP explicitly said "it won't be long" implying this is like 2-3 years away. Kids who grew up playing genshin and roblox on their phones are barely 12 now. Their not old enough to even have nostalgia yet and won't be for more than half a decade.
OP is not implying we'll be nostalgic for phone genshin. He's saying we'll be nostalgic for early iphone/android games
i have tons of nostalgia for old PDA games, i remember fricking around to run half-life 1 on quake engine on palmOS, i remember my dell axim x50v which was among first PDAs with a 3d accelerator, i remember spending tons of my life playing Space Trader. Good memories.
if modern kids will nostalgia about genshin impact in the future, i won't blame them and i'll assume their memories of past are just as nice to think back to as mine are for me
Sad but true
I mean, there are people looking back fondly on the 360, so that's fine.
Am I weird for not owning a smartphone?
No but you have outed yourself as a neet
>you can either be a neet or a slave
Wonderful choices. What a brave new world.
yes. how do you manage? mobile banking can be done on website, i guess, but what about authenticators, navigation, web browser on the go?
>web browser on the go?
imagine being some adhd riddled freak who can't live without being constantly connected to social media
>authenticators
For what? Nothing needed for survival needs authentication using a phone
>navigation
You can look up a map on your PC before you leave, or you can get a map book if you don't know an area, but why wouldn't you know the area you live in?
>web browser
why would you need a web browser if you're out and about doing things?
People did just fine before smart phones were invented
>*crack*
>*sip*
>"Angry Birds and Flappy Bird, those were the days"
>the bird era of vidya
>eyup, gta3 on the iphone, they don't make 'em like that anymore
playing pocket god on my iPod touch during bus rides to/from middle school was a lot of fun
I already do.
>2 million views
It's already a thing
Are these homies for real?
My childhood....
What's bottom left?
Ganker threads where drunk posters will vent out about their alcoholism, they were quite popular in early 2023 but jannies took a hint and deleted them on sight. They posted the same thumbnail of a clip from Flight 2012 movie
Sounds comfy tbh
It was. I was pretty fascinated with their stories even if they sounded suspiciously fake with how fricked up they are.
I drank the Nuka Cola
I drank the irradiated toilet water
I chugged every bottle of dirty water in all of Mojave. I drank the quarry irradiated water. I sucked on the deathclaw momma's breasts. This shit ain't nothin' to me man.
The IvP conflict is some of the most entertaining shit ever.
These are equivalent to all those shitty flash games in the early 2000s.
No it's not. Keyboard buttons are tactile and therefor gives objectively a better experience than using a flat non-tactile touchscreen.
Sure but that doesn't make flash games any less garbage. Probably worse than early 2010s phone games.
These poor kids don't even realise how much better it could have been
Why has nobody made a proper phone controller that also has a battery pack in it to increase playtime. Seriously I'm flying with a frickin backbone and I gotta plug the thing in if it's an 8 hour flight. Dumb.
If anyone remembers fondly playing games on they phone, they would only remember the first generation of them, not the 20 layers of monetization that are current ones.
my sweet summer child
>the first generation of them
That being, what, the primitive monochrome built-in games like Snake on Nokia 3310 or the J2ME era? Or everything before the iPhone and Android?
>OP posts an image of an smartphone
>I, referencing to smartphones, makes a point about the first generation of games for them being good
>Anon somehow understands that I'm referring to old ass games
If it were those old games, you'd be already seeing this.
Don't try to muddy the waters.
What do you think smartphone means, moron? Because this is a smartphone and it ran J2ME games. Even early Android phones could.
>What do you think smartphone means, moron?
He probably thinks an iPhone or an Android phone with nothing but a massive touch screen being the only means of interaction with the software.
God I fricking hate touchscreen only phones so goddamn much. Give me a slideout physical QWERTY keyboard with some regular navigation keys and a Sony Ericsson style joystick right under the screen. I miss the times when phone design was actually fun and functional.
Holy shit I forgot all about this game. It really was fun.
Bounce tales? I only played the Nokia X2 one
I already miss Java games era without all the microtransactions bullshit.
Back then the business model was that you'd be sending premium SMS messages to get the games, but then again, most of us downloaded all the .jar files from the web for free because frick paying for shit for your phone. Go to some shady site and make your candy bar Nokia kinda look like Windows Vista for free, and get some cool games and funky programs while you're at it.
No one miss Fruit ninja or Angry birds.
yo angry birds was the bomb
I don't think peoples brains are active at all when they're on their phone, so I doubt many memories are being made
I don't think I ever moved past those old games
I still have Super Hexagon and Paper Toss on my phone
