The map is too big and it's virtually impossible to kill people at anything other than pointblank range. I've literally emptied entire magazines into people with zero effect.

add a scope and proper barrel to your AR. all those hours on COD payed off, it feels like a cod game.
Hit reg is completely busted. Ignore the people telling you to gtt gud, the game needs to git gud and fix all of its horrendous bugs.
Reminder: standard servers on BF3 and 4 (the last ones I play) run at 16 tick. 60 and higher are listed as "turbo mode" in the browser.
4 was a sidegrade to 3 more than a straight upgrade. Blue filter wasn't that important but higher tick rate was huge. Other than that maps were worse and 3 had more of my favorite guns. Also better vehicles however

bf4 was terrible when it launched, but DICE LA turned it around. Not so sure that will happen again with LA working on their own games now and Portal.

My main problem, not considering the bugs and shit, are just the sheer size of the maps. Feels like i'm playing a battle royale with how much fricking running or driving I have to do before I reach an objective with enemies...and then I die and have to do it all over again unless my squad is nearby or I can spawn on an objective that's being attacked
yea that's the main issue I have with battlefield games. too much running, not enough action. surely there's other game modes though? does battlefield only do open world or do they have other multiplayer games like team deathmatch/search and destroy as call of duty does it?

Well Rush used to be Battlefields premier game mode which is built for constant conflict since there are only 2 objectives at a time and the playable area of the map changes.
There are also bite-sized TDM maps which were always super fun. The map size issues are just expanded in this game considering they want to do 128 players. Thankfully the game will have a lot of custom game support with all battlefield classics and shit so that might help but i'm definitely waiting after release to see how everything turns out

i've only ever played BF3 so I don't have much to compare it to. game devs only care about their investors and reddit it seems.
It has little to nothing in common with BF3 outside of "modern military" that's about it.

Maybe if you have 8 brain cells you can ignore all the issues. I'm a huge BF fan, literally my favorite game series, thousands of hours across all games since playing the very first one as a teenager. This beta fricking hurts even more than BFV did because this was a chance to return to something BF had always been strong with. Instead it's an absolute moron fest of batshit insane design decisions, missing 90% of the mechanics that have been in BF games for more than a decade, and that isn't even counting the technical issues.
I would love to shill this game since I love BF so much, but it feels like this game is irredeemable. I'm fully expecting the devs to actively ignore all the feedback they get and pretend like everyone is saying its great, or go full butthurt mode and say that people who are fans of BF are actually wrong and that their game is perfect. They couldn't even be bothered to fricking fix the map bug that was in the technical alpha, or add literally any form of communication to the game outside of a broken fricking pozzed ping mechanic that your squad can only see 1/4 of the time. Fricking end me.

I've been playing battlefield since Battlefield 1942 and stopped after Battlefield 4. Bought 1 and hated it. bought V about 2 years after launch and hated it. This beta is the most fun ive had in the series in about half a decade, it had already been going a terrible direction for years, this feels like a good course correction.
The beta isnt perfect, and it probably needs a bit of breathing room after launch, but i can actually see myself picking this up once it actually launches
It's not. That's the biggest problem the game is not fun. Fricking hell it made me so sad. I'm so fricking pissed this was my most waited game of the year. Guys I'm literally seething right now.
I tried telling myself it's just a beta but it's not. It's the demo. It's the fricking full game.
