The game's logic is running at extremely low speed on this webm. CSGO only processes your inputs at the end of a tick, meanwhile CS2 with its subtick system puts some extra data telling exactly where you shoot at, so when your input data arrives at the server, it won't be delayed and processed on the next tick with no regards to where you were aiming at.

There is a disconnect between your bullet hitting (instantaneous) and your gun firing on your screen, this is actually "good" in that it means your shots will connect more often, but it feels weird.

on the one hand, yes. I think all weapons should be available, always. but on the other hand that would be easy to add, and there are positives. for instance I play Casual and in pistol rounds I can now use the revolver + molotov on T sides and the Deagle + HE on CT side. having the revolver in my loadout in CSGO would make no sense as it removes the Deagle and the Deagle is obviously superior. but with the molly costing 400 on T side the Revolver becomes a valid buy imo, if you have a 1000$ budget. the same situation could happen if you're doing a half-buy in any game mode, on T side, or if you just happen to have 100$ less than you'd need to buy whatever want + a Deagle. you can go with the Revolver, a pretty good weapon that basically did not get any play-time in CSGO due to it competing with the Deagle for space.
It has nothing to do with the menu, now you can do fun shit like carrying a M4 and a M4A1-S, and Deagle+Revolver. Also make people put more thought in eco, while also making people consider if SCAR/G3SG1 is actually keeping around. I think Valve will also rebalance the guns in the future so people will actually consider the guns we all know no one will pick (M249, auto snipers, Bizon, Sawed-off, MP5 and so on)
I don't, at $1700 it's much more viable. I just wish they did something to the M249, it's just dead weight. Yeah 100 bullets that are only accurate if you shot one at once, what an amazing gun.

I don't understand what they were trying to do when they created the M249. what could have possibly been the reasoning? there is no range it could ever work at. not even as a melee weapon is it accurate enough. you just HAVE to get the first bullet headshot or you've lost the fight.
once I forced myself to practice its spray pattern for an hour and for a brief while I could get *barely decent* stats with it in deathmatch. but the laughably slow run speed you have with it and the fact that at range you can only tap... it's just never a good gun for whatever situation you're in.

It's more comfortable to use gun with proper sights. Also most of the time it adds some minor zoom to the gun, so you're not only shooting it properly (haha, imagine using gun from hipfire) but also have some kind of advantage in mid-long range.

Try shoot someone from afar with ADS and burst/single on AR, it's really gives AR's more chance to shine without switching to snipers.

That's not an issue. It's give and take. And second, ADS could work like it did in Battlefield 1942 or like in AUG and SG before the overlay change (in other words like in CS1.6 and Source, for those who started playing CSGO in last 8 years), except with much lower zoom to keep AUG's and SG's 2x scope gimmick. >ADS reduces movement speed making you easier to hit and the ironsight
So does holding the Shift key, which is half of what ADS could do as a mechanic.
People are so against ADS, only because they're convinced it'll give perfect accuracy. When they don't have to change gunplay at all.
ADS could also adjust the mouse sensitivity, which is a QOL improvement. Right now you have to create custom binds for that in game.

I dislike ADS because I've yet to see an implementation of it that doesn't completely cripple an FPS. in battlefield 4 if you shoot someone from the hip even if they're one feet away from you the game doesn't allow you to hit the target. it is such bullshit on so many levels.

The issue with other games is that they insist on forcing you to ADS in order to hit your shots, even if the target is 10/20 ft or meters ahead, which is silly. in real life you don't have time to ADS unless it's a really long distance target or you're trying to be 100% accurate in a short distance. in real life you just hold your gun really close but not all the way to your eye sight and shoot. ADS is just distracting in an FPS.

Using shift like an ADS button in CS doesn't work. NEVER use shift in a firefight to try to make yourself slow down so you could shoot accurately.
Your walking speed with every weapon is greatly above the weapon's threshold for accurate fire, and going even slightly above the threshold with anything that isn't a pistol, SMG or shotgun will make you so inaccurate you won't hit targets 5 meters away.
Try playing with a dynamic crosshair for a while if you don't believe this.

fov in Counter Strike games is locked to aspect ratio
in CS1.6, it's locked to horizontal fov 90 no matter the resolution
in CSS, GO and 2, it's locked to vertical fov of ~74, more precisely it's locked to horizontal fov 90 at 4:3

This provides no actual edge in the grand scheme of things though. It's a crutch for aiming from people playing spots that have their mouse on extemely low sensitivity. Realistically without an aim bot they cant do 2Vs and any half decent opponent that reads their spot is going to be a nightmare. You have to remember many of the pros are cheating, and even with cheats there's generally only one monster per team. Standards are just terrible now. Even with all the cheating, the players are like several times less productive/efficient than golden era Cal I teams.
They do it because moronation and the fact they got used to it. If 4:3 was inherently advantageous they wouldn't be using 1024x768 instead of something like 1440x1080. Also the fact many high tier pro players nowadays are using 1080p like normal human beings.
Old pro players only use 4:3 because back in CS 1.6 days 16:9 resolutions would cut your vertical FOV, since instead of increasing the horizontal FOV the game would just zoom in, like when you zoom in to remove the letterbox from a movie.
1280x960 and 1440x1080 are both more popular than 1024x768
real reason to using resolutions lower than x1080 is so you can have your 1px crosshair thickness feel good, it's a little too thin at 1080 and becomes too thick with 2px.

It's nothing related to VAC, just a small frickup on Valve's part. They forgot to include redistributables with the game so if you install it fresh, it'll always try to run a install script that will never complete since the files don't exist.
To solve you have to go to CS2's install folder (SteamsteamappscommonCounter-Strike Global Offensive) and create a directory called directx_installer, and inside that directory, place any executable and rename it to DXSETUP.exe, I used notepad.exe, you can grab it from C:Windowssystem32. After that it'll never bother you again. You can delete the folder if you wish as well.

Works on my machine, dunno what to tell you. The issue where there was a slightly delay when the latency difference was considerably big that was literally addressed when some famous gay shared it on twitter. It's even in the changelog.

That was until I sat down with a cart of durban poison and played italy/office for a couple hours without ever changing server or team.
When you "edge of tomorrow" enough runs on the map, even if you aren't consciously doing it, your brain is cataloging where dudes are catching you from.
You'll start to surprise yourself from time to time flicking dudes when an hour ago you couldnt hit them at a dead stop.
It is very satisfying to improve.

I still can't find my perfect sensitivity. i either one day use a fast one or slower one. currently it's 5.5 on 1600dpi (DAV3 if it matters) and i used to be MG2.
I honestly just copied my ET/DB sensitivity into csgo and turned it down a little and it worked, because i also use my wrist to aim. but the mouse look feels weird in cs2 compared to csgo, or maybe i should switch my mouse from 4000hz to 1000hz. maybe one day I'll manage to find the sweet spot for myself.
Polling rate won't matter much beyond 1000Hz, usually mices tend to do memes like add filtering and usually it increases CPU usage which affects your FPS. But it won't change the "feeling" you are looking for.
You really need to reduce your sensitivity or DPI, that's just way too high. Try 1600 with 1x sensitivity just to get used to how a normal mouse should feel. Just for comparison, most pro players use either 400dpi at 2-3 or 800 at 1-1.5

It's actually worse. They think shooting while standing still is the hardest thing ever. They don't respect any weapons that are accurate while moving.
strafing and shooting is easy but doing it right is hard and most people don't do it right
you're more accurate the closer your velocity is to 0 which means if you are strafing in one direction, you need to counter strafe in the other direction right before you shoot so that you can get as close to 0 as possible and be as accurate as possible
same goes for running forward or jumping. if you're running forward you should press s right before shooting but not hold because you don't want to run backwards and if you're jumping you want to shoot at the very peak of your jump as your velocity gets close to 0 during the change in direction from up to down

Well it was accurate enough that I bought the p90 because every other SMG had garbage armor penetration in casual where armor is automatically procured. Someone new to the game is going to buy the mp5. It's funny when I get killed with the mp5 and it says 9-10 shots or every time.
MP9 was already good in GO, the accuracy buff thanks to the subtick system just makes it that much better.
I'm doing a lot of dirty where I buy MP9 on rounds where my team wants to eco, then play relatively aggressively getting at least one or two kills. This has the side effect of the enemy not realizing that rest of my team is on pistols and they get punished for not adjusting to it.

Never use public cheats on good accounts, and when a huge update like this hits wait atleast 3 months or so to let everyone figure how the anticheat works before risking your shit, even with private cheats.
The layout is super simple and will work with basically any specifics, so it's competitively viable even if they frick and move things around.
As a proof I present original CS:GO's inferno, which was actually absolute dogshit but was constantly played at every level of competitive regardless.

Inferno is the most popular map in the pro scene, meta wise. Its often used as a default pick to settle best of 3s because everyone is good at it. I am not sure if its the most played map in pro scene but its the one that is most picked.
I'm just guessing but I think a lot of it comes down to people running the game on dated CPUs. I had this exact same problem in CS:GO back in 2013-2014, it just didn't seem like my mechanical performance had that much of an impact on how well I did.
Right now I feel like I should never stand still even when I hear an enemy running towards me, it seems like I win a lot more firefights as long as I make sure to strafe into them to shoot instead of waiting for them to move into my view, even when I'm holding nonsensical offangles no silver would ever prefire or counterstrafe into.

Its understood maps need to be built like that for quicker change of bomb sites and rotations. Map that don't allow that are stale and repetitive gameplay wise.
Part of that is placebo really, they still very good maps once you are used to. Anubis is legit better than many older maps.

Dust2 is considered a very rigid map that don't allow for much tactical variety. Competitive wise the only option is for Ts to take long and work the map through flowchart. Its not a popular map on the pro circuit.

Like look an anubis here, a popular map I like. Pink is stuff I don't question and red needs a haircut. The CT spawn is moronic. 4 directions to go, and one of those directions branches again, while two immediately merge. Just to go to 3 places, mid, B, A.

Rotators do need multiple entry spots or retakes become basically impossible. Pro scene showed people just save if a retake is too hard, in fact that's a really bad problem right now and one of the reasons the MR12 was introduced.

italy is like two steps forward two steps back
The only straight upgrade is the icecream stand because CTs get a new angle to hit upper cellar door and they don't have to go through that box.
Tunnel pathway just adds another place for Ts to wait to shoot you in mid and they can rotate between long and mid with a shorter path and closer ranges. It only helps CTs if they are able to reach it and they probably won't if teams are equal skill.
Apartment side stairway is fun but it just makes it easier to rusk and flank CTs in apartments, or if Ts take apartments they can rush down on CTs coming out of market. And they didn't fix the central problem of fighting a bloody close range battle in apartments only to get shot at long by an AWP or negev.

The only "complicated" part of Anubis is that there's a drop from mid to B connector, but otherwise it's a very straightforward map to understand. Take the five minutes to learn the layout and it's actually a very fun map that's easy to get into. It's clear why they replaced Dust 2 with it as the brawly, fast-paced map in the pool.

I was only 17 when it came out but it was way too different from the original one I remember. It also lacked some of the cool grenades I remember and was way too cartoony.

I can't remember every weapon that felt worse but for example the UMP I remember was a sort of slow automatic SMG [I'm not a gun guy so idk what you'd call it] and in CSGO it was just another automatic.

CSGO only processes your inputs at the end of a tick, meanwhile CS2 with its subtick system puts some extra data telling exactly where you shoot at, so when your input data arrives at the server, it won't be delayed and processed on the next tick with no regards to where you were aiming at.

There is a disconnect between your bullet hitting (instantaneous) and your gun firing on your screen, this is actually "good" in that it means your shots will connect more often, but it feels weird.

on the one hand, yes. I think all weapons should be available, always. but on the other hand that would be easy to add, and there are positives. for instance I play Casual and in pistol rounds I can now use the revolver + molotov on T sides and the Deagle + HE on CT side. having the revolver in my loadout in CSGO would make no sense as it removes the Deagle and the Deagle is obviously superior. but with the molly costing 400 on T side the Revolver becomes a valid buy imo, if you have a 1000$ budget. the same situation could happen if you're doing a half-buy in any game mode, on T side, or if you just happen to have 100$ less than you'd need to buy whatever want + a Deagle. you can go with the Revolver, a pretty good weapon that basically did not get any play-time in CSGO due to it competing with the Deagle for space.
It has nothing to do with the menu, now you can do fun shit like carrying a M4 and a M4A1-S, and Deagle+Revolver. Also make people put more thought in eco, while also making people consider if SCAR/G3SG1 is actually keeping around. I think Valve will also rebalance the guns in the future so people will actually consider the guns we all know no one will pick (M249, auto snipers, Bizon, Sawed-off, MP5 and so on)

It's more comfortable to use gun with proper sights. Also most of the time it adds some minor zoom to the gun, so you're not only shooting it properly (haha, imagine using gun from hipfire) but also have some kind of advantage in mid-long range.
In some cases yes, I'd say Destiny don't need ADS, since it plays like arena shooter. When it's "muh slow tactical TWAT military shooter" it's more of the requirement.

I dislike ADS because I've yet to see an implementation of it that doesn't completely cripple an FPS. in battlefield 4 if you shoot someone from the hip even if they're one feet away from you the game doesn't allow you to hit the target. it is such bullshit on so many levels.

The issue with other games is that they insist on forcing you to ADS in order to hit your shots, even if the target is 10/20 ft or meters ahead, which is silly. in real life you don't have time to ADS unless it's a really long distance target or you're trying to be 100% accurate in a short distance. in real life you just hold your gun really close but not all the way to your eye sight and shoot. ADS is just distracting in an FPS.
"quickscoping" only ever became a thing when CoD introduced snap-on autoaim when initiating ADS on consoles you fricking moron. Quickscoping is literally a crutch that exploits a moronic autoaim implemented to try and make first person shooters function on a platgorm they have no business being played on.

Using shift like an ADS button in CS doesn't work. NEVER use shift in a firefight to try to make yourself slow down so you could shoot accurately.
Your walking speed with every weapon is greatly above the weapon's threshold for accurate fire, and going even slightly above the threshold with anything that isn't a pistol, SMG or shotgun will make you so inaccurate you won't hit targets 5 meters away.
Try playing with a dynamic crosshair for a while if you don't believe this.
M4-S has decent running accuracy, I tap instead of spray though

The fact all the pros and people who parrot them play at 4:3 stretched to 16:9, so the entire screen is horizontally zoomed in, is the best argument for some sort of ADS mechanic for non 4:3 players.

This provides no actual edge in the grand scheme of things though. It's a crutch for aiming from people playing spots that have their mouse on extemely low sensitivity. Realistically without an aim bot they cant do 2Vs and any half decent opponent that reads their spot is going to be a nightmare. You have to remember many of the pros are cheating, and even with cheats there's generally only one monster per team. Standards are just terrible now. Even with all the cheating, the players are like several times less productive/efficient than golden era Cal I teams.
They do it because moronation and the fact they got used to it. If 4:3 was inherently advantageous they wouldn't be using 1024x768 instead of something like 1440x1080. Also the fact many high tier pro players nowadays are using 1080p like normal human beings.
Old pro players only use 4:3 because back in CS 1.6 days 16:9 resolutions would cut your vertical FOV, since instead of increasing the horizontal FOV the game would just zoom in, like when you zoom in to remove the letterbox from a movie.
1280x960 and 1440x1080 are both more popular than 1024x768
real reason to using resolutions lower than x1080 is so you can have your 1px crosshair thickness feel good, it's a little too thin at 1080 and becomes too thick with 2px.

It's nothing related to VAC, just a small frickup on Valve's part. They forgot to include redistributables with the game so if you install it fresh, it'll always try to run a install script that will never complete since the files don't exist.
To solve you have to go to CS2's install folder (SteamsteamappscommonCounter-Strike Global Offensive) and create a directory called directx_installer, and inside that directory, place any executable and rename it to DXSETUP.exe, I used notepad.exe, you can grab it from C:Windowssystem32. After that it'll never bother you again. You can delete the folder if you wish as well.

I honestly just copied my ET/DB sensitivity into csgo and turned it down a little and it worked, because i also use my wrist to aim. but the mouse look feels weird in cs2 compared to csgo, or maybe i should switch my mouse from 4000hz to 1000hz. maybe one day I'll manage to find the sweet spot for myself.
Polling rate won't matter much beyond 1000Hz, usually mices tend to do memes like add filtering and usually it increases CPU usage which affects your FPS. But it won't change the "feeling" you are looking for.
You really need to reduce your sensitivity or DPI, that's just way too high. Try 1600 with 1x sensitivity just to get used to how a normal mouse should feel. Just for comparison, most pro players use either 400dpi at 2-3 or 800 at 1-1.5
I would say start with 1600 with 2~2.2, 1600 at 1.0 will still feel slow if he's used to such high sensitivity

strafing and shooting is easy but doing it right is hard and most people don't do it right
you're more accurate the closer your velocity is to 0 which means if you are strafing in one direction, you need to counter strafe in the other direction right before you shoot so that you can get as close to 0 as possible and be as accurate as possible
same goes for running forward or jumping. if you're running forward you should press s right before shooting but not hold because you don't want to run backwards and if you're jumping you want to shoot at the very peak of your jump as your velocity gets close to 0 during the change in direction from up to down

Well it was accurate enough that I bought the p90 because every other SMG had garbage armor penetration in casual where armor is automatically procured. Someone new to the game is going to buy the mp5. It's funny when I get killed with the mp5 and it says 9-10 shots or every time.
SMGs feel kinda crappy in CS2. But I did have success rushing stairs on inferno every round with an MP9.
MP9 was already good in GO, the accuracy buff thanks to the subtick system just makes it that much better.
I'm doing a lot of dirty where I buy MP9 on rounds where my team wants to eco, then play relatively aggressively getting at least one or two kills. This has the side effect of the enemy not realizing that rest of my team is on pistols and they get punished for not adjusting to it.
I'll never not enjoy jumping around a corner and blastng a T with the MP9.
It's not accurate at all, values are straight up fake and have been for a long while now, specially since weapons have been re-balanced a dozen of times.

The layout is super simple and will work with basically any specifics, so it's competitively viable even if they frick and move things around.
As a proof I present original CS:GO's inferno, which was actually absolute dogshit but was constantly played at every level of competitive regardless.
Personally I don't like the new one at all with how good to play and visually clear the 2016 version was, except for removal of the moronic graveyard spot.

Inferno is the most popular map in the pro scene, meta wise. Its often used as a default pick to settle best of 3s because everyone is good at it. I am not sure if its the most played map in pro scene but its the one that is most picked.

Every time I play cs2 the game just feels so inconsistent. Something feels so off and I don't know what it is.
I'm just guessing but I think a lot of it comes down to people running the game on dated CPUs. I had this exact same problem in CS:GO back in 2013-2014, it just didn't seem like my mechanical performance had that much of an impact on how well I did.
Right now I feel like I should never stand still even when I hear an enemy running towards me, it seems like I win a lot more firefights as long as I make sure to strafe into them to shoot instead of waiting for them to move into my view, even when I'm holding nonsensical offangles no silver would ever prefire or counterstrafe into.

What the frick is the deal with Cache, anyways? I always liked the map, I feel like I know the map and its dynamics pretty well but every time I played it in the recent years in GO, it felt one of the most difficult maps to win on.

Part of that is placebo really, they still very good maps once you are used to. Anubis is legit better than many older maps.

Dust2 is considered a very rigid map that don't allow for much tactical variety. Competitive wise the only option is for Ts to take long and work the map through flowchart. Its not a popular map on the pro circuit.

Rotators do need multiple entry spots or retakes become basically impossible. Pro scene showed people just save if a retake is too hard, in fact that's a really bad problem right now and one of the reasons the MR12 was introduced.

The only straight upgrade is the icecream stand because CTs get a new angle to hit upper cellar door and they don't have to go through that box.
Tunnel pathway just adds another place for Ts to wait to shoot you in mid and they can rotate between long and mid with a shorter path and closer ranges. It only helps CTs if they are able to reach it and they probably won't if teams are equal skill.
Apartment side stairway is fun but it just makes it easier to rusk and flank CTs in apartments, or if Ts take apartments they can rush down on CTs coming out of market. And they didn't fix the central problem of fighting a bloody close range battle in apartments only to get shot at long by an AWP or negev.
Why is every map that wasn't in 1.6 a maze? They also double pathways with connectors inbetween them for no reason. You might as well take a waffle, close your eyes and drizzle syrup on it and whatever parts are still dry is your map.
The only "complicated" part of Anubis is that there's a drop from mid to B connector, but otherwise it's a very straightforward map to understand. Take the five minutes to learn the layout and it's actually a very fun map that's easy to get into. It's clear why they replaced Dust 2 with it as the brawly, fast-paced map in the pool.
Any map that has nice elevation and wrap around is based in my book.
Also, the less sharp angles the better.

Honestly JEEP maps may have been some of the most side orbiting laughter I had as a younger self. It was so glitchy and fricked up but it was hilarious. Having blocky space ships or vehicles clip through each other and complete gib smash anyone inside was great
