2016 is decent, and far better than eternal. I really like doom 3. Feels epicly long too for some reason. It's part of the cursed trio as well (Doom 3, Quake 4, Prey) so that's neat.
3 is solid the action doesn't really gel with the survival horror but both aspects work in their own right if that makes sense

It feels more like a doom game than 2016 and eternal. Doom 2016 turned doom into a platforming wave arena shooter and is nothing like the original dooms
I love 2016 and Eternal, but u get what he means. Doom 1 and 2 weren't about arenas, they were about moving through the entire level and fighting the entire way. 16 and E are like slaughter maps condensed into multiple spurts. 16 did have enemies between arenas, but it focused a lot less on interesting groupings on the path to the exist or strange geometry and map long puzzles. Eternal diverted even further with 99% of combat being arena focused and an ambush or 2 here and there by small enemies or a singular larger Demon. 1 and 2 will have you kill 99% of enemies and be confused as to where to go next while 16 and Eternal do away with the maze like structure. in that sense, 3 is closer to 1 and 2. constant drip feed of enemies, very few large arena encounters, enemies placed at awkward angles and elevations plays a significant role in the challenge of the level.

Doom Eternal is like 120 gbs already, idtech is unoptimized slop. But NuWolfenstein games are also idtech and they don't take 150 gbs of space honestly. Seems like a strictly id issue.
Doom 3's only problem is that in incorporates puzzles that slow down the flow of the game if they were removed it'd be a great doom game but as it stands it's the worse of a series that generally releases great games a solid 7/10 for sure had fun with it .

Aim down sights, same as CoD.
Weapons do more damage, more enemies. Go between resupply area anr unsecured areas, wasting ammo to complete objectives, eg rescue people. Build up base for final breakthrough assault to shut down a portal or escape.
Remodel the pistol, it looks like shit.
Enemies use the shadows, stay in them and attack from them.
Full black culling shadows. No flashlight. Waste ammo to feel better or risk getting killed to hoard ammo for when you need it. Shoot at sounds. Move slowly to hear them.
Upgrades for weapons:
Shotgun: wider spread or condensed shot
Plasma rifle: plasma can heat up surfaces doing damage to anything traversing over shot areas or shots explode if they hit any surface
Handgun: Quickdraw and quick put away or silencer
Rocket launcher: pressing fire again detonates rocket in mid air with larger explosion or rocket breaks into 4 smaller rockets and goes for closest enemies
Minigun: Faster fire or flesh penetrating rounds
BfG: Pulls enemies together and damages them and or damages everything including you down to 1hp
