They couldn't continue to support 7 even if they wanted to unless they migrated away from Chromium for Steam since Chromium is what is dropping support.

I made the jump to 10 when I changed PCs because I figured newer games and programs would start having features that would be incompatible with 7 or require workarounds. But i sincerely refuse to move to 11 or anything that shares it's tablet/phone-like UI and navigation.
10 is where I stop until they make a better one that is a return to form but with support for all new shit or until something I require to live can only run on something above 10 (unlikely to ever happen)
