Most games use the camera more than the face buttons. Any reasonable modern game has the decency to put the most common actions on the back buttons

Every good controller in history has one thing in common. Membrane buttons in the dpad. Nobody wants that clicky microdome shit for joycons.
No, they needed a different bumper mechanism too. The feedback on them is terrible and they are the far and away the flimsiest piece in the controller.

The controller is deliberately shit. They pushed it out as a way to enforce parity. By being so awkward and limited, it forced specific types of games to be made while the controller was popular and limited how much 3rd parties could innovate on other controllers. This was reinforced by the 360 being the 3rd party console and PC getting Xinput AIDs.

Literal circlejerking nonsense. The right analog stick is shit to begin with, just replace the stupid thing with a touchpad and add in a gyro. If you're hung up on the placement of the left analog in relation to the right analog, then you're a symmetrygay no matter what.
Not only that but the ideal controller is a split controller anyway, unibody was a compromise from the days when cables were an issue but now everyone is complaining about battery life so that's clearly no longer the case and they're all on wireless

Just give it gyro. The touchpad would be useful on PC as well but as PS has proven it's pretty pointless for console use.

I got one of these as a gift, as in it was literally free, I did not pay for it, and I fricking hate it. Garbage controller, Dualshock 3 is the peak.

try going straight in a game like monkey ball with a lowered symmetrical stick, then try with asymm., you will see that asymm gives you better control over moving in a straight line. Original Dualshock 3 (2006-2007 or so) has really good sticks, though, so its actually pretty nice.

Yeah I was playing THPS4 with it and doing excellent. I finished the entire game all goals and cash with it.
The only error they made was to not add gyro aim, and it's a big one.

Despite popular believe the body is not symmetrical. The body is filled with small asymmetries such as having one arm longer than the other or having one hand larger than the other, etc. The overwhelming majority of the human race also has a dominant hand. People use their hands independently. This is why the keys on a keyboard are not laid out symmetrically because you don't use your hands symmetrically.
