Basically the Souls version of Abobo's Big Adventure.
Probably the best thing about it is how it handles items and their attached lore.
Instead of knowing right from picking up what it is and who it belonged to you only get a clue to a specific place that you have to take the item to where you can make it "remember" its backstory, resulting in it getting your usual lore dump, a proper texture, upgraded stats and a special attack.
You also get bonus stats for remembering certain amounts of equipment so even stuff you wouldn't use due to your build becomes useful through that system.

Online 3v1 shenanigans are some of the best moments in these games.
