If you have the time and the means, then absolutely yes. Has much better exclusives than Xbox in my opinion and it will get all relevant third party games anyway
When Microsoft finishes buying up every third party publisher and devs then Sony exclusives won't matter. You don't have to be a console war sperg to see why this is bad news.
Has console gaming ever had a grimer period? Maybe the very first years of consoles being a think. Did research into which console I should buy and afterwards I just upgraded my pc with the money. Absolute shambles of an industry.
probably best to wait till fall/holidays to see if they announce a PS5 pro / base price drop unless you have the money and something you want to play right now
I'm waiting for the slim, but if the rumours are true and the disc-drive is going to be an external peripheral and optional; then I will buy one of the original PS5 console with the built-in disc-drive.
maybe it does but not for Elden Ring and RDR2. I was playing both of those on PS4 a month ago. The faster loading times on PS5 instantly made the purchase worth it for me. well technically with the former you can upgrade to the PS5 version if you have the PS4 version but whatever. point stands.
>games that run better and have loaded faster on PC
Wow. Wait till you find out PC can run "old games" at ultra settings without begging for a remaster
Yes. Your PS4 is probably on the verge of death at this point. Any PS4 games you've bought digital in the last few years have a free PS5 version included
You're moronic. A free upgrade to the next-gen version included with the purchase of prior-gen software is in the consumer's favor. Anti-consumer would be forcing you to pay once more for the PS5 version
I bought one and I've enjoyed it. never had a ps4 so I've been mostly playing ps4 games, only ps5 game I've actually played through completely is re4 remake
I got one and have been replaying a lot of my ps4 games with the pro improvements or otherwise benefits from my launch ps4. Bloodborne feels a hell of a lot smoother. Still choppy but less so.
I like the controller.
Not many exclusives, so PC is probably better for those who want to be smart.
Maybe there is value if you like the PS Plus catalog and want to spend some time playing those games.
I'd buy a PS5 but nearly all of its exclusives will just come to PC in a year or two. The only game it'll have left will be Demon's Souls remake, just like Bloodborne for the PS4.
It's a PS4 Pro Pro that can play PS5 games. Some PS4 games have issues just like they did on a PS4 Pro and some of those PS4 games have exclusive DLC on PS5 (Horizon FW, FF7R, and Death Stranding DC). Some games are improved. Some games initially released on gen 9 and then got downgraded versions for gen 8 months later (Hogwarts and Marvel's Midnight Suns).
Right now we're only just starting to see some companies move on to gen 9 but they're barely starting yet. I don't think this gen will even start until maybe early or mid next year because then systems should be on store shelves, discounts will be happening, and we'll start seeing more companies moving onto gen 9 since Microsoft is halting development of internally developed Xbone games on their end.
Also, if you're holding your breath for a PS5 Pro I don't think it's gonna happen just due to this entire chip situation and how they'd have to source even more annoying to get chips that are in high demand. They already barely fill online stores with PS5s let alone physical stores, I just don't see it. We know that a Slim is at least in the works because it's supposed to have some sort of detachable Bluray player you pay for or get, I don't remember, and it would mean only one SKU instead of two like they have now.

It's a PS4 Pro Pro that can play PS5 games.
This. PlayStations until PS3 had specific and odd hardware, now they're just a pre-built PC with software limitations.
>It's a PS4 Pro Pro that can play PS5 games.
This is exactly how I treated my purchase
Only get it if you have an original PS4 or don't have a PS4, both cases having PS4/PS5 games you want to play. It's the only way I can justify it personally.
I already owned a Pro, I justified it by wanting to play the exclusive content, the exclusives that were out at the time (Most notably Ratchet), and what was going to come out in the future. I actually still use my PS4 Pro on any PS4 games I have because the BC on the PS5 sucks ass specifically for the fact that it upscales all your screenshots to 4K even though the game never played at 4K. I hate it so much.
If you have the time and the means, then absolutely yes. Has much better exclusives than Xbox in my opinion and it will get all relevant third party games anyway
what exclusives?
It is a matter of taste, but I would buy a PS5 just for FFXVI and Spider Man 2.
They are timed exclusives man, I can wait a year or two on PC.
Well I can't. Plus, there are other benefits to a console than a PC for me personally. So if I had to get a console, I'd get PS5.
>other benefits
Like what exactly?
>he never responded
KWAB
snoy has no games
>Well I can't
Which terminal cancer do you have?
When Microsoft finishes buying up every third party publisher and devs then Sony exclusives won't matter. You don't have to be a console war sperg to see why this is bad news.
there's barely any games to play?
you tell me
This list isn't even right
yeah idk what happened there, this one seems more legit
Has console gaming ever had a grimer period? Maybe the very first years of consoles being a think. Did research into which console I should buy and afterwards I just upgraded my pc with the money. Absolute shambles of an industry.
What a time to be alive
>starfield
>schlopfield
Good list
I'm waiting for a new model. Hopefully one that isn't as monstrous

yeah for improved loading times on PS4 games.
bloodborne still loads like poopoo

do you like ps4 games? is your pc too weak to handle most modern games?
if you answered yes to these questions then a PS5 would be a solid purchase
Yes. Your PS4 is probably on the verge of death at this point. Any PS4 games you've bought digital in the last few years have a free PS5 version included
That's blatant anti-consumer practice
You're moronic. A free upgrade to the next-gen version included with the purchase of prior-gen software is in the consumer's favor. Anti-consumer would be forcing you to pay once more for the PS5 version
It will get games I totally promise
PC is a stutterfest.
Xbox has no games.
Switch is for tendie fanatics.
PS5 is literally the only real game platform at the moment.
>PC is a stutterfest
Wut!?!!?!!???
did he stutter
Probably on AMD
I have AMD and everything just works. Idk what you mean.
the only good game coming out this year is starfield, which is going to be GREAT on pc
You mean your PC is a stutterfest, update your drivers bro, I'm playing things fine.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA GOOD ONE
here's your "real gaming platform" bro
>PC is a stutterfest.
There is something configured wrong on your PC or less-than-ideal hardware.
I will buy mine when death stranding 2 (working title) comes out.
I bought a Series S and Steamdeck
If there's games you want to play that are coming to PS5 then sure, plus if you already have a PS4 then it's a straight upgrade.
Modern videogames aren't worth at all.
I bought one and I've enjoyed it. never had a ps4 so I've been mostly playing ps4 games, only ps5 game I've actually played through completely is re4 remake
I bought one, and the answer is no.
Probably not, but FFXVI is a crazy spectacle. One of those videogame moments that will always be stuck in my head. Like seeing SM64 the first time.
gays, troony aliens, and shallow, easy combat stuck in your head forever. FRICK no, I'm not buying a ps5 now, that sounds like hell.
>IS THAT LE IFRIT DOING SONIC FRONTIERS OMG LOOK AT THIS VFX VOMIT BURNING MY PS5 AND EATING MY FPS OH MUNGOLOD PRESS R1 BULLET TIME

Waiting for a Slim. Don't care about the disc-drive because I'm only going to play Bloodborne and Ghost of Tsushima.
if you are set in buying a console, its always the sole option to pick.
>im a trans woman
they always say this as if you cant immediately tell
It has 5 exclusive gaems now. That's more than 1 (one) per year! Definitely worth it!!!
I'd buy a PS5 but nearly all of its exclusives will just come to PC in a year or two. The only game it'll have left will be Demon's Souls remake, just like Bloodborne for the PS4.
What are you gonna do with it? Play the bad demon's souls remake? Come home to ps3.
No. There's no games on it that aren't already out on PS4 or coming out on PC other than FF16 and Spiderman 2

If you have a PC, no.
If you don't have a PC, buy a PC.
Only to play FFXVI and then sell the PS5 after. It's really, really good
If isnt so roasted no Black person wanted it
No , Ifrit wrath xvi has been confirmed they re gonna start the pc port
