I thought it was funny. Felt like I was watching a safer version of the English dub of Ghost Stories. I was surprised to find out how many people got mad at a story that's so intentionally stupid.
I platinumed RE4 remake and 100% completed Final Fantasy 9 and enjoyed both a lot. Played and beat Dead Space remake and it was a bit shit. I genuinely can't think of anything else I've played this year. I've been too busy.
I've finished too many.

Honest question, why is it that people who really enjoy japanese games tend to almost exclusively play (or complete in the context of this thread) japanese games
I actually like a lot of the games you listed, but if I made a similar list there would be a far more even spread of games from all over.
Fair. I didn't recognize 80% of them so I just assumed
I do play western games, but mostly indies
Japanese games and indies = pursue idealistic, fantasy
Western games (big budget) = pursue realistic, cinematic
total opposite philosophy.
The only big budget western game franchise I like is Assassin Creeds... I don't know, I just like it.

It's just simple spreadsheet with "game name", "platform", "score", "release date", "completion date", "play time", and "notes" as rows.
There' website that can help you do this like https://howlongtobeat.com but I prefer making it myself.
I guess the short gameplay loops of indies do have a special appeal

Are you able to call on detailed impressions from each of these?
For example, what do you think of celeste's music in comparison to a space for the unbound's?

I know this is a dumb question but do you play with a controller? My friend used to hate platformers because she would play with a keyboard. She started to like them after I bought her a controller

Finished more than 6 last month. Everything blurs together, I would have to look to even see what they were. I know I played through the castlevania advance collection (played these games 30 times before) and ffxvi.
I've finished exactly 6 games so far this year. I was aiming for 2/mo, but for the last couple months I haven't played anything that's managed to keep me engaged through to the end.

How the frick does everyone in this thread finish like multiple games in 6 months, I'm still trying to beat spiderman for a couple months and i'm only halfway through.
Did you only play spiderman and absolutely nothing else for those couple months?
And is gaming your main hobby (significantly higher priority than movies, youtube, music, etc)?
I don't know about anyone else but that original reply is basically what I did.
Play 1 (maximum 2) games at a time, prioritise playing that game over other entertainment sources, don't really bother about 100% unless I really like the game, make sure it's a hobby and not the only thing I do for the entire day (i.e. still do career shit and exercise)
I end up with around 4 - 7 hours of games a day and I usually get done with a game in a week or two
I 100% both Neon White and Crash Bandicoot 4
Neon white forces you to pay attention to the shitty story for that
How the frick can anyone stand that shit?
I thought it was funny. Felt like I was watching a safer version of the English dub of Ghost Stories. I was surprised to find out how many people got mad at a story that's so intentionally stupid.
