Can you explain why it's "empowering" to blacks when you make a character who can't stand on his own two feet and subsists solely on hand-me-downs and stealing from a white guy?
Spider-Man is too popular to just replace with a groid. So they are basically slowly transitioning him into one instead of instantly forcing it like most israelites do. Basically they're learning.
>I just know from the Into the Spiderverse movie he is just another take on Spider-Man under the pretense of 'what if the person who became Spider-Man was raised with parents, liked art as a hobby, and could electrocute things?'.
It's unironically a complete joke though. And it's downright insulting to black people.
Yes unlike Peter Parker, Miles is from a well off upper middle class family. Grew up with both his parents alive. And attended good schools.
But what art is he interested in? It's ghetto shit. It makes little sense given his background but it's like the writers just force it because it's their only idea of "black culture". It's downright racist. But they act like it's the opposite.
And yes they did give Miles electricity powers. Because he is black. And that in itself is also a joke.
Bendis was clearly trying to blend his Hispanic and Black roots together but he couldn't hope to do that and the writers he was paired with couldn't either, so they just pivoted towards his Black roots. I wouldn't call it racist, but more classist. Inner city blacks are born into it because of their low socioeconomic class caused by multi-generational trauma that never got treated properly from the slavery days, and cities suck dog shit so you're also going to continue getting a shit ton of poor people born every year.
But "black roots" does not equal ghetto shit. And it doesn't make sense from a class perspective either, which was part of the issue that I pointed to in my post.
Miles never lived in that culture. And if anything well off black people more often than not go out of their way to distance themselves from it as opposed to the other way around. It really makes little sense for Miles to fancy that stuff.
It's almost like you've got old white writers thinking of their youth years and their rebellious era. Except for them it was all hippie stuff. Which was something they could embrace to rebel.
But ghetto shit is different from hippie shit. It's not equivalent. And the only reason they've got him being into it anyway is because he is black. But given his class background that just comes across as forced. And the equivocation of ghetto shit as black culture is in itself kind of insulting but they're always acting like it's the opposite.
It does in the form of classism. People gave Marvel shit for their depiction of Black Thor but in a low class area of Blacks in New York that's pretty much spot on.
>And what's with your costume being cooler than mine?
It's kind of not though. Also >the black spider-man's costume is black because of course it is
Why are comicbooks like this?
As on the nose as it is, I can respect that more though.
But the other Spider-Man characters don't follow the same principle. I mean the titular Spider-Man OG is red and blue. And traditionally race hasn't mattered when it comes to the colouring of their costumes.
But with Miles? Of course it does.
It's like some great crime or affront or anything. But it really does contribute towards Miles feeling artificial. In both concept and execution.
Honestly, it's not a weird opinion to have. Black is sleeker than blue. You should check out the Kamen Rider fandom. If a Rider's main color is black, chances are everyone loves it. You see it everywhere. Kuuga's most popular form is Ultimate Form, Ryuga's design is more liked than Ryuki's, Joker's designed is more liked than W's, Build's most popular form is the basic black Hazard.
The point was that Ultimate Spider-Man had Peter Parker die in a dramatic storyline that concluded his story, but Ultimate was selling well. So Miles was made as a replacement for him. Since then, though, he's been brought over to the mainline universe for some reason.
All other popular super-heroes get replacements/side-kicks. There was a whole arc of Batman where a Robin served as Batman. I think it was called Black Mirror. I know it's easy to just dismiss all this as virtue signaling, but it's not this time. Miles debuted in 2011, before we were in our current political climate where everything is about race, lgbt, and inclusivity. This is just normal superhero shit. Where the protege eventually becomes the master.
yeah and they've been doing that same plot since 2011 and it still hasn't stuck. most other cases of a next generation crashing and burning they just throw them in the trash and write up a new one, not for miles though for some reason likely wholly unrelated to his skin color

>The concept of an African American Spider-Man was first discussed a few months before the November 2008 election of Barack Obama as President of the United States. Marvel Comics' then-editor-in-chief Axel Alonso describes the catalyst, "When we were planning 'Ultimatum,' we realized that we were standing at the brink of America electing its first African-American President and we acknowledged that maybe it was time to take a good look at one of our icons." This new Spider-Man would replace Parker as Spider-Man only in Ultimate Marvel, an imprint whose storyline is set in a universe separate from the mainstream Marvel universe, in which Marvel's characters were reimagined for a 21st-century audience. The replacement of Ultimate Peter Parker was considered as a possible part of the 2008–09 "Ultimatum" story arc that restructured much of the Ultimate Marvel universe, but those early thoughts were abandoned because the story for that character had not yet been developed.[6]
Maybe one day you realize comics were always political and followed the popular trend of whatever age they were made. I bet homosexuals like you would be upset seeing Captain American beating up Nazis because you relate to their views now.

That's exactly what he was.
The Ultimate Spider-Man comic sales were dipping (around 50k units per issue) and they wanted to bolster interest again.
They came up with a two-part plan: >Advertise a big Death of Spider-Man comic event which got a lot of attention because no one paid attention to it being an alternate universe comic >Then introduce a new Spider-Man to replace the old, and have him be black to generate controversy
Unfortunately for Marvel, Miles tanked the comic even worse and it dropped in sales by about 60% but they had to keep him around because of that controversy they generated. They just kept pushing him in cartoons and comics before the combo of the game and movie got him noticed by the greater non-comic-reading capeshit audience
>Legitimate question, what is wrong with a black spiderman
What's right with it? Why can't he get his own name if they insist on putting him next to the real one?
Yeah my favourite Batman story is the one where he's killed off despite only having been around for less than a year in universe and then another guy gets all the same training as Batman and he can fly and the becomes the new Batman.
He also just slots into the old Batman's life and start's fighting the same villains and repeating the same plot points the first one did but worse.
Oh and also the original Batman shows up having risen from the grave just to tell the reader I mean the new Batman that he's super cool and deserves to be Batman more than him
>This is just normal superhero shit. Where the protege eventually becomes the master.
No one wants robin to take over for batman you tard. Literally no one gives a frick about robin.
Robin as Nightwing is like many times better than Robin as Batman.
Even Nightwing in the role of Batman in a post-Batman world is better than Robin as Batman.
The Robin / Miles comparison doesn't really work regardless though because they're fundamentally different. And if Robin was actually written like Miles then maybe you'd actually realise that too.
Is the third one gonna just be called Spider-Man again because Miles kills Peter at the end of this one? Or will it be something like Spider-Man Afro, or maybe Spider-Man Jordans?
Nah man that would be racist.

>Miles’ dad was a decorated police officer who died saving lives >Miles also supports BLM, a strict anti-police group
How does Miles reconcile these two viewpoints?
>Be Spiderman >Some upstart newcomer tells you to go to some other city because she wants New York
Who the frick wrote this? Just take fricking shifts.
Because her special power is she uncontrollably emits pheromones that causes her and Peter to instantly go caveman brain and frick the shit out of each other
I like how there are MULTIPLE Spider-Men they can choose from his comic history (so much they even made 2 movies about it) yet you guys continue to be butthurt about the puerto rican one for some reason.
because they have to push the ahit to be popular, they wouldn't give characters like kaine a chance
but of course you know that you are just trying to be even more moronic
Show me all the games and movies and TV shows that feature Ben Reilly (and not just his costume either and not for a one off episode). Or Miguel. Or Kaine. Or Mayday (the real one)
bro miguel is a main character in two video games, has shown up in cartoons and was the recent antag in the new movie. The clone saga is regarded as a low point for spidey so why even be surprised its not shilled
>bro miguel is a main character in two video games
Sure >has shown up in cartoons
Literally when? Do you mean that one episode during the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon? Wow cool. Still significantly less than Miles >and was the recent antag in the new movie
Does that not prove my point further? Miguel is put in the movie to specifically be a strawman bad guy.
>The clone saga is regarded as a low point for spidey so why even be surprised its not shilled
So again you prove my point that they only shill Miles.
Miles was created in 2011.
Miles got a movie put in the works in 2014. Three years after his creation and when he was at his lowest point in terms of sales.
Miles got put in a cartoon for a single episode in 2015, he then becomes a mainstay for the last season of USM in 2016. He then gets a full time spot in the 2017 cartoon.
In 2018 Miles was put into the games, and in 2020 he received a game all to himself, something no one else has gotten outside of Peter.
Three movies + Three Games (one all to himself) + Two TV Shows all in a bit over 10 years
Miguel was created in 1992
He was put into a movie (as a villain to shill Miles) in 2023
He didn't receive a cartoon appearance until 2015 where he got a four episode feature in USM
He was one of four characters in Shattered Dimensions in 2010 and costarred alongside Peter in Edge of Time in 2011
One movie + One cartoon guest appearance + Two games in 20 years
But yeah Miguel has been pushed as much as Miles, you're right
>big difference here is that peter knows who miles is and his is mentor
Peter written correctly wouldn't insist on someone else using his name. >This isn't some rando
Miles is some rando that decides to be Spider-Man and then gets Peter's blessing afterward. The exception is the game which opens the can of worms of why Peter wants Miles to basically be a copy of himself. It's weird and egotistical to assume someone with similar abilities should just be you
Because no one cared about them enough to try and take the limelight from Peter. Shattered Dimension was the start of this shit and as someone who saw the warning signs I kept on bemoaning how it'll continue the trend of writers trying to write Peter Parker out of his own story with the excuse of using not Peters. Still mad.
None of the others are being pushed as the main Spider-Man like Miles is in comics, movies, and now games.
Frick! A literal clone of Peter Parker can't even be Spider-Man because there already is one. He's Scarlet Spider.
>Agent Venom, Anti Venom, and Venom Venom, Shriek and even Carnage all introduced in the same game
Does the symbiote just hope from person to person or what?
>Does this mean Spider-Man 3 will have three Spidermen?
No, it probably won't even have Spider-Man at all, just Black personboy Miles Morales, because that is what the Black person worshipping israelite overlords, that run the entertainment industry, truly want.
I don't follow capeshit at all but used to watch spiderman when I was younger. Can someone give me a rundown to why there are 2 spidermans now?
Black kid also got bit by a spider?
>Peter parker "dies" >Teenager from brooklyn gets bitten >Takes over the mantle as spiderman >At first even using his suit, characters in universe think its in poor taste, makes his own suit instead >Universal reset (comic reboot) >Same teenager gets brought over into another universe where Peter is still alive >Becomes a side charactee because his comics didnt sell nearly as much as Peter's did
Irl it was because fans signed a petition to get Childish Gambino cast as Peter for The Amazing Spiderman but he lost it to Andrew Garfield. The comic writers were big fans of community and started thinking "Why not a black spiderman?" And designed miles loosely based on him. As an homage to this Childish Gambino plays The Prowler (Miles uncle) in several media, and voices miles in some too

, fetish by a israelite done on an alternate universe, his book limps and gets relaunched time and time again while keeping the character on life support because without a superior around to perform humiliation rituals on he has absolutely nothing going for him (you should have seen them struggling with powers, at one point he could do kamehamehas and fly with the electricity, recently he got an electric sword so it's happening again), the alternate universe finally grinds to a halt in sales and gets shelved, Miles gets retconned into the main universe (
There's been a thing going for a while where Peter is contractually obligated to says that Miles has a better costume than him
) and the elephant in the room of two heroes called Spider-Man patrolling the same area is never, ever addressed.
Why aren't woke people mad that white people made the black kid a thief
They don't consume the media to know, but if they did they'd probably rationalize it as reparations despite all the shit Peter did over the decades.
Does Miles kill people with drones too?
The white Miles on the movie almost does, funny enough.

8. character assassinate the original in a final attempt to make OC look good
It has happened before. Buy the new propaganda guys!

It wasn't 2016, it happened in stages. Though you could definately feel the flood of newbies same as when /b/ was drawing people in during the 06-08 era, which is where 'feels' threads started to pop up and decide the rhetoric. Then in 10-12 the political drama started to spread from lulz to actual drama, and the buildup culminated with the election.
Slow boards have been dying since their creation, and are only kept alive by a few dedicated posters. So the discord crowd arriving and old people leaving can really kill off a small community quickly. Even Ganker has changed a lot.
I guess you just can't help it, maybe it's our own fault for still hanging around.
I'm glad i quit reading comics after "Everyone Gets A Hammer".

Big Jim Shooter was the tard wrangler that kept Marvel in one piece
At the end of the day he was right about keeping artists in line or else they become major fricking divas and start messing around with good stories
They should loosely adapt "The Other" for Spider-Man 3. Everyone expects Peter to die or retire permanently by this point given the treatment he's received in this game and the Miles Midquel, so may as well take advantage of it. Have him "die", only to have him come back stronger than ever.
Game ends with Silk showing up, so probably.
>Silk dicky
She's like 30 in this universe, a former detective.
You’re thinking of Yuri
That's the other chink, moron. Silk is the Spider-Girl whose origin story is being biologically wired to frick Peter.
What's her super hero name then moron? Obviously it was easy to confuse the 2 names.
Wraith
>not scarlet spider
Fricking lame
Do you WANT these homosexuals handling Ben or Kaine?
Exaggerated swagger
So, can anyone tell me the point of Miles Morales?
hes a Black person
Miles morales is playable and will continue to be relevant in future spider-man projects.
Cope and seethe harder, mutt

They want Peter Parker out of future Spider-man games so they don't have to pay more royalties to the estates of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
And the only times it's "successful" is when they cram him into stories where Peter Parker is the main protagonist. He's astroturfed.

>Some upstart newcomer tells you to go to some other city because she wants New York
Who the frick wrote this? Just take fricking shifts.
Because her special power is she uncontrollably emits pheromones that causes her and Peter to instantly go caveman brain and frick the shit out of each other
So what?
Sure
>has shown up in cartoons
Literally when? Do you mean that one episode during the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon? Wow cool. Still significantly less than Miles
>and was the recent antag in the new movie
Does that not prove my point further? Miguel is put in the movie to specifically be a strawman bad guy.
>The clone saga is regarded as a low point for spidey so why even be surprised its not shilled
So again you prove my point that they only shill Miles.
both sound about even to me in their shilling
He was one of four characters in Shattered Dimensions in 2010 and costarred alongside Peter in Edge of Time in 2011
One movie + One cartoon guest appearance + Two games in 20 years
But yeah Miguel has been pushed as much as Miles, you're right
exactly glad you see that
>that pic
big difference here is that peter knows who miles is and his is mentor. This isn't some rando stealing his name and has mysterious motives
the only spider costume that is better than than the original is ben's(Not the hoodie one)
>big difference here is that peter knows who miles is and his is mentor
Still mad.
Can you post some good Miles stories?
None of the others are being pushed as the main Spider-Man like Miles is in comics, movies, and now games.
Frick! A literal clone of Peter Parker can't even be Spider-Man because there already is one. He's Scarlet Spider.
Superior Spiderman? Too much to hope?
>Agent Venom, Anti Venom, and Venom Venom, Shriek and even Carnage all introduced in the same game
Does the symbiote just hope from person to person or what?
Venom is a bawd, yes
Hot.
The symbiote gives birth. Anti-Venom is a bit of the original that got Mr Negative'd.
Pretty much
Dissapointed that agent got wasted on this shit
Does the Venom symbiote go to Brock or Gargan or anyone else besides Harry and Peter?
Iirc gargan fricking dies before anything like that can happen. Also there is no eddie
For anyone who's seen the leaks or played the game early did they tone down Peter being all chummy with cops?
It will be called Spiderman 3D and it will ship with 3d glasses.
>Even the normies clown on Mikes now
Milesbros, what went wrong?
?si=-ikHbFMYSOKSV-nl
>normie
I'm sure whoever made that video is an autist, likely you.
Any video that gets over 100 views was made by and for normies
Do they really have Miles get the win over Venom instead of Peter?
Black Spiderman is cool.
>Does this mean Spider-Man 3 will have three Spidermen?
No, it probably won't even have Spider-Man at all, just Black personboy Miles Morales, because that is what the Black person worshipping israelite overlords, that run the entertainment industry, truly want.
Yes and his name is Gary Stacey
I don't follow capeshit at all but used to watch spiderman when I was younger. Can someone give me a rundown to why there are 2 spidermans now?
Black kid also got bit by a spider?
>Peter parker "dies"
>Teenager from brooklyn gets bitten
>Takes over the mantle as spiderman
>At first even using his suit, characters in universe think its in poor taste, makes his own suit instead
>Universal reset (comic reboot)
>Same teenager gets brought over into another universe where Peter is still alive
>Becomes a side charactee because his comics didnt sell nearly as much as Peter's did
Irl it was because fans signed a petition to get Childish Gambino cast as Peter for The Amazing Spiderman but he lost it to Andrew Garfield. The comic writers were big fans of community and started thinking "Why not a black spiderman?" And designed miles loosely based on him. As an homage to this Childish Gambino plays The Prowler (Miles uncle) in several media, and voices miles in some too
See
, fetish by a israelite done on an alternate universe, his book limps and gets relaunched time and time again while keeping the character on life support because without a superior around to perform humiliation rituals on he has absolutely nothing going for him (you should have seen them struggling with powers, at one point he could do kamehamehas and fly with the electricity, recently he got an electric sword so it's happening again), the alternate universe finally grinds to a halt in sales and gets shelved, Miles gets retconned into the main universe (
) and the elephant in the room of two heroes called Spider-Man patrolling the same area is never, ever addressed.
They don't consume the media to know, but if they did they'd probably rationalize it as reparations despite all the shit Peter did over the decades.
The white Miles on the movie almost does, funny enough.
That's because Heisei Kamen Riders are fricking ugly.
Hongo's most popular design is the Sakurajima suit, which has the darkest colors of all his suits.
>2 Spidermen
wouldn't it be grammatically correct to say "2 Spider-Mans" since Spider-Man is a proper noun?
1. make up OC non-white/gay version of character
2. replace them fully
3. backlash
4. bring back original
5. try to sneak OC in through the back door
6. forced teamups and shared eco-system(sup gwen)
7. (you) are here: second backlash/growing apathy about both characters
8. character assassinate the original in a final attempt to make OC look good
It has happened before. Buy the new propaganda guys!
>character assassinate the original
They've already started with the competitors, it's not looking good for the original
And if it fails, they just bring pete back 6 months later and start over again.
They won't stop until they ruin everything.
also kek'd so hard at chasm the hedgehog i choked on my coffee
Dark Web may have been shit but the shitposting was fun
I'm glad i quit reading comics after "Everyone Gets A Hammer".
I don't know which was worse out of ASM 900 and Dark Web. Probably Dark Web
>pic related is Peter seeing Flash for the first time since the latter died and came back to life, also Flash knows Peter is Spider-Man
Christ. I can't comprehend how Marvel could get so low, it was never that good to begin with but damn you had to try to frick it up this bad.
This has to be the work of Lex Luthor.
Yeah it's bad. Good shit posting material but very bad. I stand by the fact that this is the worst era for Spider-Man because there is literally nothing good coming out.
It's depressing, i just wanted my american mangas.
Also i seem to have lost my old Ganker folders, i wanted to post the edit of eggman beating the shit out of pixie with a bat. I love that pic, i miss the good times in Ganker discussing new releases with genuine interest.
Did 2016 ruin every board? I only went to m and toy for the most part and they seem to get worse over time too. Or im more depressed as an old.
I guess you just can't help it, maybe it's our own fault for still hanging around.
>playing capeshit
>playing capeshit with smelly poop colored brown "people" in it
There is no consistency to comics, so nothing happens matters at all. It’s just one giant size shitty soap opera
There used to be back when editors would do their jobs
Big Jim Shooter was the tard wrangler that kept Marvel in one piece
At the end of the day he was right about keeping artists in line or else they become major fricking divas and start messing around with good stories
I miss him so much.
If I was in charge people would be so mad at me because Id add the most moronic shit like this
still hyped 😀
just finished all of spiderman 1 and its DLC just now, gonna play ng+ miles morales tomorrow
also gonna watch some into the spiderverse before going to bed
hype hype, my GOTY for sure releasing soon
Never forget that Sandman unbirthed Spider-Man and then blew him up from the inside once.
i feel like no one actually cares about this game
am i right?
pika pika
expect the few people that have a PS5 collecting dust on their desk because there is literally nothing else to play on it.
They should loosely adapt "The Other" for Spider-Man 3. Everyone expects Peter to die or retire permanently by this point given the treatment he's received in this game and the Miles Midquel, so may as well take advantage of it. Have him "die", only to have him come back stronger than ever.
Is that the one where he gets organic webs and talons and shit?
They don't have to do it exactly the same. Organic webs arguably wouldn't work in these games due to all the web gadgets.
Will it be as good as Web of Shadows? I only care about the symbiote stuff.
Miles exists because nothing about Peter Parker is unique or inherent to him. He's just a white guy who was bitten by spider-steroids.
