After only watching the first 20 minutes of the first episode i can say that this show made me appreciate welcome to racoon city, yes even with the pozzed Leon and Jill, even with the marysue Claire, even with the whinny and lame ass Wesker, this show is just that bad.
Welcome to Raccoon City was pretty alright, tbh. It really captured the feel of the city as a character and is kind of comfy in the beginning (the diner scene with everybody shitting on Leon, the squad room scene with angry-police-chief-trope Irons, echoing the similar scene in the S.D. Perry novel). I actually liked the different takes on Wesker and Leon. Only problem was combining the first two games didn't actually work, though I thought it was a good idea at first, and the fan service is cringe, and Jill sucks. And where are Barry and Rebecca?
>hey you know I thought this movie was ok >soi boy the israelites got your mind you're an untermensch go suck bbc you will never be a woman have a nice day go drink onions and eat bugs and dont forget your vax
Worse, the only character from the source material ever used is Wesker who has been black washed (the actor is quite capable to be honest but the character he is playing it's just not Wesker) he has 2 daughters, one of them is a black furry weeb and the other one is LGBT+ who gets -ack'd in the first episode but it's hinted to be "alive".
There's a lot more giant creatures/monsters than zombies, none of them from the games except 2 (the poster thing and the zombie dog on the first episode)
The zombies just don't attack as soon as they smell flesh but they are more like sharks since they target someone once they smell blood.
Wesker references pornhub.
>Spiders
Not the same species, the ones that appear in the game are tarantulas, these are closer to black widows or violins >Croc
I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing and it's cool the croc shows up but considering what this show is, I'm going to assume they completely missed the point of that boss fight by either making him smart and target shit that he knows he couldn't eat or taking him out of the water so he can be in exposed sun light in an open field to add insult to injury.
Don't lie to yourself anon, you know these frickers did the bare minimum to understand the RE games, I don't think they got that far into them, I'm sure they heard "RE has giant spiders" and they instantly bought a spider pack in the unreal engine asset store, used the most generic one they could find and add the mandatory tumors and extra fangs they put on the caterpillar.

just saying they were the spiders from the games or close enough
the show sucks
Black-stained. Since they stain the character from its previous iterations. It doesn't change it but it sure as hell stains it. And like most stains, you can just wash them back again.
>one of them is a black furry weeb and the other one is LGBT+ who gets -ack'd in the first episode but it's hinted to be "alive".
I can tell you haven't actually watched the first episode. Daughter 1 says the furry thing as a joke because she's an edgy teenager and Daughter 2 is very clearly alive at the end of episode 1
I skim watched it, he didn't,he died in the volcano, OG discount blade Wesker made clones that named themselves Alby,Bert and Albert or something. He had them working and doing R&D under Arklay Mountains secretly behind umbrellas back.
>that named themselves Alby,Bert and Albert
I can't tell if this is from the game or the show. Both have equally schlocky writing except the game makes it work.
People are grossly exaggerating how bad Netflix really is. Stuff like Stranger Things, Better Call Saul, Daredevil, Arcane, Mindhunter, Kingdom, Squid Game and many lesser known titles are infinitely better than anything on Disney+ or Amazon prime, which are their main competitors. Sure Netflix brings out a ton of absolute throwaway garbage, but they also have the occasional gem every once in a while. Now compare that to their biggest competitor Disney+, which to this day didn't have a single good original tv show outside of Mandalorian season 1. But yeah, any time Netflix adapts a video game or anime franchize and it is made by Americans, you can be almost certain it's going to be shit.
>1. But yeah, any time Netflix adapts a video game or anime franchize and it is made by Americans, you can be almost certain it's going to be shit.
I think they do it on purpose, just get some outrage watches for making it purposely suck, cash in, and then cancel it. I've seen NO good reviews outside of paid ones.
we were talking about good shows on Netflix, not just commercially successful ones. Mindhunter, as far as storytelling, writing and acting goes is absolute leagues above any Marvel and Star Wars shit that makes up almost the entire library of their main competitor. Also as for Arcane not being a Netflix original, it doesn't really matter to me if Netflix actually made the show or was just smart enough to distribute it, it's still a Netflix exclusive that's vastly superior to what's on competing streaming platforms.

wow what a high bar just be better than movies and shows for kids. tried to imitate true detective but flopped because its shit.

It's nothing whatsoever like true detective. Why the frick are you so stuck on this one show? I just brought it up as one of many examples. Also Disney+ shows aren't made for kids. SW and Marvel is watched by perpetually online manchildren, not actual children.
House of Cards Season 1
Stranger Things Season 1
Love Death and Robots Season 1
Altered Carbon Season 1
Ozark Season 1
The Umbrella Academy Season 1
Black Summer Season 1
Squid Game Season 1
wtf happened to Love Death and Robots, btw? Season 2 had like 2 good episodes, and season 3 had like 4. WTF was that episode they're using as the banner for it now? That was dogshit, why use it as advertisement for a show? Even the bad episode in season 1 were at least watchable.
Kill Team Kill, Bad Traveling, Swarm, and Mason Rats were all good.
The robots episode was okay, as well as the Night of the mini dead.
Vaulted halls was bland.
Pulse of the machine was nicely animated, but everything else was dogshit.
Jibaro was god awful.
Usually they are setup as one-time deal series that never built a premise of longevity, usually these are passion projects meant to get the director and writers into film making in general. There's a reason why they get canned by every network but Netflix will gladly pick it up because they genuinely don't care except when it actually turns out successful. When it turns successful they will push for further seasons with the convincing line of "We'll both make more money from this." and that's why they are trash after S1.
Success/Money breaks people, and if it doesn't break the people making the show it breaks the people who financed the show, and they suddenly get touchy feely with the project.
You plan everything around an initial season, only to discover you are now being roped into making a second from demand.
Now you need to shoehorn in ideas with way less time than you had to make the original season and are forced to use a higher budget than you really need or are used to.
The end result is rushed ideas with overly ambitious attempts at spectacle that fall flat on their face.
>have to make a script for a show >have no idea if it will get a second season >just make a story for a single season, wrapping it up >get a second season >have no idea how to keep the story going because you already put you biggest ideas and set pieces in the first one (dont want to leave any in the drawer in case you dont get a second season) >rely on external screen writers to stretch the show as much as you can >no vision, no passion, just a 9/5 job
House of Cards stayed pretty good after Season 1. It was later seasons when they tried to make Claire more important then Frank (culminating in the final season where Frank was gone, because Kevin Spacey is a creepy homosexual) that it started getting worse. They kept trying to make me care about her, but all I saw was a frickup liability who bored me to death everytime she was on screen.
>Black summer >Ever being good
It definitely wasn't the worst thing ever but every shot had that "we made Sharknado and Z nation" style they are famous for.
>Altered Carbon Season 1
YAAAS QUEEN SLAY SUPER ROBOT >The Umbrella Academy Season 1
NOW THAT I KNOW I'M SPECIAL I'M GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD BECAUSE REASONS
>House of Cards
Wasn't the first few seassons HBO's work? >Squid Game
Boy... Opinion discarded. Only good things are first two episodes and then laughing at how stupidly written it is (esspecially the VIPs).
>d-d--dont judge m-m-mee
Ill judge you for being insecure about other people judging you and not have the gonards to stand by what you like while not giving a frick what rando's think.
Has Netflix made ANYTHING good?
Love Death and Robots was great. Castlevania was actually pretty damn fricking good FOR THE MOST PART yes it got weak later on but I think overall I'm willing to forgive them for making Isaac actually interesting. Midnight Mass was pretty sweet although its clear the entire movie was just because the writer wanted to get his existential rant off his chest that happens near the finale of the movie. Queens Gambit was pretty good too. the Daredevil show gave us Fisk posting which was a ton of fun. Aggretsuko. the show is whatever honestly but the characters are somewhat loveable. AIJIN too and Altered Carbon. the later basically being GiTS show/movie we deserved but never got. Devilman Crybabby and le Crazy unbeatable Gamble b***h anime. ARCANE the League of Legends story was also to date probably one of the best video-game based animations yet. Usually most video game movies are dogshit one way or another like Advent children or the MK movies but Arcane was just a good fricking experience even if the game itself isnt anymore.
is it worth paying for a subscription? no. but I'd say overall you can get a diamond every few months or so.
Castlevania was awful from the get go anon, the first episode the writing is awful cosmopolitan american values transposed onto fantasy medieval transylvania.
Worse still, the same studio butchered the shit out of Dragon's Dogma not long after.
I acknowledge your opinion.
yes the writing the trope and uninspired. yes the dialogue was 1 dimensional and crap (humans are unreasonable dum dums who burn people for knowing how to read).
but the action and the characterizations is kinda what sold me on it. namely I thought Dracula's story being fleshed out was a lot better than the quick blurbs he's given in the games. theres no nonsense about some generic entity named CHAOS is actually pulling the strings and constantly reincarnating him to start shit against his will. Alucard using all of the powers and abilities he had in the games was great fanservice
Its really just one of those "turn your brain off" enjoyable things or things you go into already expecting to specifically watch for certain aspects. like Micheal Bay movies. you are fricking moron if you go to a micheal Bay movie and say "duh story sukked".
>go into already expecting to specifically watch for certain aspects. like Micheal Bay movies. you are fricking moron if you go to a micheal Bay movie and say "duh story sukked"
Not that anon but I would accept that if the Castlevania show, just like the Bay movies, dedicated most of itself to the action an spectacle. The dialog felt like fluff to fill over time until the next action scene and it was around 85%~ of the show's runtime. The characters sitting in one place discussing the plot over and over again, never advancing it and never actually doing anything of worth despite plenty of chances of that. It wasn't until the final season when it seemed they realized people didn't care about shitty vampire drama so they started to spam action scenes so you wouldn't notice how badly they cut short of threw under the bus a bunch of the characters they built up for seasons worth of time.
Does it come out smelling like roses compared to RE? Yeah, but it's still shit.

I literally don't care what others say, I liked the first two seasons of Castlevania. It should have just ended on season 2, not sure why they tried to drag it on with 3 and 4.
Well while I'm at it, I gotta say that despite some cringey stuff S1 of Castlevania is still one of my favorite videogame adaptations. S2 had some trouble that I was willing to forgive since ep7 was such a shining moment and the focus on the new characters could be excused by them needing to set up a new treath for the following seasons. Now that I saw where all that went I'm kinda soured on it.
This RE show was doomed from the start but CV hurts me more because it showed promise at the start
>Worse still, the same studio butchered the shit out of Dragon's Dogma not long after.
Frick you you lying piece of shit, the Dragon's Dogma anime was 100% a Japanese production. With a Japanese studio doing the animations, a Japanese writer and director.
I don't know if they made it or just produced it but Narcos was great.
Why do they all stop being good after 1 season? Are the show makers exposed to mass moron arrays during production for the following seasons?
When something is successful you have people bum-rushing like parasites to get a piece of the action. This explains it if there are changes in staff from season 1 to 2-3-4. If there isn't then it doesn't explain it.
Stop bullying Anderson. The studio fricked him over with the sequels. He was not allowed to have actors redo their roles in sequels and got less and less budget so he just said frick it and did movies about his waifu instead.
I have to leaven my dislike of his directing choices with the fact that he's such a romantic dweeb for his wife that he's willing to direct multi-million dollar movies where she's the ass-kicking heroine. I mean frick there's something so harmlessly sweet about that. It's like the whole Adam Sandler thing of "Why wouldn't you make stupid half-assed movies with your friends and get paid to do it".
But yeah, any time Netflix adapts a video game or anime franchize and it is made by Americans, you can be almost certain it's going to be shit.
Disney+ has Ted Lasso and Severance that are good, all the Marvel shows if you're into that
American Vandal wasn't really doing it for me, Jimmy Tatro kind of has the Adam Devine and Charlie Day syndrome where they're only funny in shows that they also write.
I won't say any of these are "exceptional", but I did enjoy these. >Russian Doll >I Think You Should Leave >Mindhunter >The Haunting of Hill House (just the first season or whatever) >Dark Crystal >Love, Death, Robots >Icarus >Norsemen
There's probably more, but there's over 1500 different "originals" and I'm not looking through it all to figure it out. You're bound to find something you like, but typically, any adaptations of popular media try way too hard to appeal to their target audience.
so in a case like this when it's a video game or anime, they're going to want to appeal to young, tech-oriented people in a way that makes them discuss and share the media online (I wasn't even aware there was a show until these post) so they conduct research on sites like Twitter and Reddit to know what they're aiming for.
Besides it having a director who probably had next to no idea what Resident Evil was, it's probably as obnoxious as it is because that's just how they see the audience.
I literally don't care what others say, I liked the first two seasons of Castlevania. It should have just ended on season 2, not sure why they tried to drag it on with 3 and 4.
>Friends keep asking to watch this
I feel like I'm surrounded by morons.
Why would I sit down and waste my time watching something I enjoy be adapted horribly?
>Said in an interview he doesn't give a shit about RE and will not learn about the games at all, he refuses
Wow it's almost like that anon was right and they just want a quick buck
Like they do with all of their video game shows, they cast it shitty, do it shitty with a bunch of pop culture and sociopoltical shit. Get people pissed, get views, make money, and cancel it by season 2.
Yeah, but as the point was, the nogs never get called out for being part of the literal shit shows they are participating in.
Like black Captain Keyes in Halo, people should've said something but they come with the "U-Uh good actor though!..." shit to justify it, when these are as guilty as the directors who don't give a shit about the source material.
Olyphant said the same thing about doing the Hitman movie, I know he said he only did it cause he needed money for a house. It's a job and not every actor takes roles for passion
This.
Everyone loses their shit every time when there's a western adaption of an anime where the main character is placed with a white actor. But when a black person takes the role of a white character, suddenly it's OK because their acting is "excusable."
Name examples. People like to elaborate into shit relating to woke culture, gamergate, or whatever when it's like "well it's okay when a black person does it" but I'm sure most of you only really hate Black folk and want outlets for it, and everyone fricking knows it, it's probably why some of these people even make creative decisions like this. It's definitely how I felt watching the first few episodes. And honestly it's fricking silly, because if they're being coy about picking on bigots, you frickers sure like taking the bait. Now, name examples.
The Anderson movies are like if you gave a moron coomer a camera and told him to make an RE movie. The Netflix version is if you gave a black gay troony a camera and told him to make an RE movie (stretched into a TV show of course). The moron coomer wins by default.
Stop bullying Anderson. The studio fricked him over with the sequels. He was not allowed to have actors redo their roles in sequels and got less and less budget so he just said frick it and did movies about his waifu instead.
Just a shame her acting is so wooden. She sounds like the same character in everything she's in. Fifth Element is one of the few movies off the top of my head that she shows actual emotion beyond scared face.
>but wesker died in 2009
this and, if they ever played any game, Alex Wesker could transfer her mind to another bodies in Revelations 2.
it could be cool if an actual writer used her and made something like, the new CEO of Umbrella was actually Alex all this time.
>Episode 4 says Wesker died in the events of RE5, is this new one a faker? He transferred his mind to another body? Everybody will never know.
Wesker has a bunch of clones.
Just watched the first episode. What the holy frick did I just watch? Wesker is a bald black man and has two daughters? He doesn't even seem evil. Umbrella still exists? And caused the end of the world? Did the writers not understand that RE isn't about zombies and hasn't been since 3/CV? It was a zombie outbreak not a zombie apocalypse. I never thought I could watch a worse adaptation of something. I can only assume it gets worse from here. This could have easily been an original show. Why plaster RE on it?
>Did the writers not understand that RE isn't about zombies
Resident Evil is only known for zombies with a quick glance and overlooking the entire series. Unless you get Japanese writers that actually know the context of the series you will not get any better than that.
wait wait wait
isnt THIS one based off of the MOVIES series not the games?? in the MOVIE series YES the world had actually ended. everything was destitute and the only safe haven left for humans was """arcadia"" (this was a bait by umbrella to get more humans to test on lol) . thats actually kinda pretty much stated plainly in the movies and its depicted over and over again wherever Alice goes that its a mad-max world with only zombo's left. all the Umbrella higher ups ran underground into secret facilities and were waiting to start some repopulation programs and shit and then rule over the scraps of humanity left.
It's based on both. The 2022 scenes are treating game backstory as mostly canon, but the 2036 scenes are heavily influenced by Extinction/Final Chapter, but not done as well. A bizarre number of RE game fans are completely ignorant about the plots of the films, and throw little hissy fits every time they see fast running zombies or apocalyptic settings despite RE9 literally being codenamed RE9: Apocalypse.
>the only safe haven left for humans was """arcadia"" (this was a bait by umbrella to get more humans to test on lol)
What are you testing for at that point? Why are you even still doing R&D? Who are you gonna sell to, the apes?
I'm just over it, it's been years and we'll never get a quality live action adaption of RE, it deserves one and the story would do well. Guess I'll just watch the first and second RE movies and shut the frick up.
You'd imagine with technology being so prevalent we wouldn't have these moments anymore. Like that old music video where the woman uses Excel as if it was a message.
[...]
This.

The guy playing Jet was literally the only one who even gave a single frick about netbop and it is blatantly obvious as his performance is leagues better than the entire rest of the cast.
Scream Black person Black person Black person into the void all day but it's still the truth.
I'm not going to read above or below the conversation, but yeah Jet did a great job in that show, and even sounded pretty similar to Beaux Billingsly's performance.
Figures that the show's version of Black Dog Serenade was its best episode, since it gave him more time to shine.
>i miss when lickers were scary. no licker outside the original RE2 has been remotely intimidating. they keep turning them in to tigers and shit.
The RE5 lickers were built like fricking tanks.
He says, while judging the entire show based off what he thinks will be on TikTok, when it’s actually on Ganker.
The lack of brain cells is staggering, and I can taste the irony.
oh yes the classic t virus symptom of random as frick dancing what are the writers even doing? if this is what writing school produces its a masssive waste of money
The Anderson movies at least had fun Anderson action scenes, good direction, and Mila Jovovich even if the writing was absolute dogshit. I remember spending so much time pausing and playing frame by frame in one of them as a kid so I could see her breasts
The problem ultimately lies with Capcom. Go watch video interviews involving Anderson and lead devs from the RE or MH teams and they're disgustingly into the idea of these projects even happening despite the consistent negative feedback they receive from fans. It's like they're not aware nobody besides the smoothest of brains likes this trash, and keep greenlighting these shit projects.
moron take, the problem only lies with the directors and producers.
Capcom has literally nothing to lose and earns millions of licensing dollars doing nothing.
We can only hope they put some of that money into making better games.
>Go watch video interviews involving Anderson and lead devs from the RE or MH teams and they're disgustingly into the idea of these projects even happening despite the consistent negative feedback they receive from fans.
But most fans love the RE films. It's only a vocal minority of RE game fans who don't like them. The box office of Anderson's movies proves that. You don't get to make 6 live action RE films without doing something very, very right.
>2018 Tomb Raider is still the only good vidya movie to date
It was boring dogshit, homosexual. It's the worst vidya movie ever. Get better taste and go back, Black person.
>Tomb Reddit >shits on a kino like the RE movies >prefers shitty bullshit 12-yo boy as Lara Croft
You sound like a sad reddit gay. Keep consooming product and go back.
It was fricking awesome, israelite. Go back to israeliteland that you stole from the arabs.
Keep seething, redditgay. Watch the first Jolie movie, and then come back and tell me that the godawful reboot is better, because it isn't. Also, you will never be black, trans or a woman.
Capcom subhumans sold netisraelite a license to their IP thinking they won the deal by free money (free blackrock money)
Notice how they don't think about what Netpedo actually does with the IP and how that would be bad for brand recognition? which is spread israeli propaganda and degeneracy, nettroon like all israeli companies operate at a loss.
The postal movie was better. At least Uwe Boll knew that he knew his stuff was trash/used for money laundering and just had fun with postal and made the most accurate vidya movie(besides DOA and MK 1995)
Oh I already knew about Postal, I make people watch it a lot. Postal 2's one of my favorite vidya games ever, in fact. >Ninja Gaiden Ryu is in too
Based as frick, I was curious if he'd be in it, though considering he has involvement with the plot of the first game I'm not too surprised.
Remember, this is the same site where critics shat on the following great kino: >Freddy Got Fingered >Uwe Boll's Postal >Road to El Dorado >OG Jumanji >Spaceballs >Rat Race >Dunston Checks In >The Pest
fact! only Money Heist benefitted from Netflix
fact! it was good because the writer had the full series written before getting bought by Netflix
fact! the spinoffs will continue to be good because the writer has a shitton control over the series
Ganker goes crazy when they blackwash a character, so I always knew no matter how good or bad this show was it'd be shit on.
I tried to watch it with an open mind and in my opinion it's the best produced, written and acted RE live action we've had. Does that mean it's good? Frick no. But I found the two timelines thing interesting, and even though the future timeline is very basic and repetitive, I've always wanted to see a post-apocalypse world in the RE universe so at least it had that going. Reddick is also the best actor we've ever had in any RE production so he also elevates it.
WTRC was the most close to the games, even if it made a lot of stupid changes to the characters' backstories and personalities.
So, in my opinion, WTRC is the best at following the games and RE Netflix is the best overall product. Bottom line, Paul WS Anderson flicks are a fricking disgrace and they destroyed any possibility for a proper RE adaptation. They have terrible action, terrible acting and most of all, terrible writing.
I don't think Buster Scruggs does. Hell, one of the stories ends with a guy drowning the quadruple-amputee brother he'd exploited for money because he got a parrot that people were more interested in
Black people basically represent all the "non-whites" in America because they're the only group that actually matters to the internet and the most important factor of any media is to exhibit some form of diversity so they can get their Blackrock "reward".
Redheads are such a small minority in the world (only 1%-2% of the world's population), that they're the easiest to be replace without incurring as much negative feedback as other, more relatable, characters might accrue.
The founder of the first nation to dab on israelites after the exodus had red hair so the religiously inclined israelites have a pious duty to eliminate all red heads from the face of the Earth
>esau had red hair therefore all redheads living today must be murdered into extinction because REEEEE ESAU YOU FRICKER
Jews are the most delicate and fragile fricking people on the planet. I'm elated that they're being intermarried out of existence.
people underestimate just how full of ridiculous camp this is, hell they even throw in a sizeable amount of references to the games. it's an objectively shit show, but the absurdity almost makes it enjoyable.
Man, Esau buck broke the israelites so hard that they go ballistic every time they see a redhead. Which is hilarious because israelites also possess the red hair gene.
>start watching this it's literally just Black folk
Holy frick why do the producer and writers hate themself so fricking much? I can't be white guilt at this point.
It's just massive self hate probably brainwashed by some fricking teacher. God this show is fricking disguting. Good thing you can actually watch good stuff on netflix.
>lance reddick is great but this was clearly a script that was retooled to be mildly resident evil related
No, this was written from the ground up as an RE reboot about Billie and Jade in New Raccoon City. They added a second pitch to it, based on RE: Final Chapter. That's where the future timeline comes from. Every aspect of this project comes from RE pitches. The idea that this wasn't an RE project from the start is completely nonsensical. We have the leaked episode 1 draft from 3 years ago.
>Frick off shill, this is complete shit.
Listen, you incompetent fricktard. Nobody cares what you think of the show. What they care about is the idiotic mindset that TV shows are random scripts retooled to be IP adjacent. We know the history of this show. We know about the Final Chapter sequel Netflix is planning. We know there were two TV show pitches, one with the Wesker girls, another with a group of survivors and Alice showing up sometimes. These pitches were merged into a single show. That is this show. The whole concept of the show was based on RE from its very conception. They hired Andrew Dabb to write a script about the Billie and Jade Wesker in New Raccoon City.
Anyone who has followed the attempt to reboot RE without Paul W.S. Anderson knows this. Without Anderson's guiding hand, they've been floundering for years, with CG movies nobody cares about and movies based on the games that flopped, and this TV show that wanted to appeal to fans of the games and fans of the films, but has issues that make it struggle to appeal to either.

I mean yeah, the RE is not going to get a good adaption. I've given up on that after this show, it sucks, and yes, I am bitter.
while the 2020 Sonic movie is ok (it's just a generic road trip comedy, yet Jim Carrey as Eggman was phenomenal), its sequel, however, is true kino. I still think Sonic games suck and its fanbase are extreme levels of autistic cringe.
to be fair, the new spongebob movie absolutely sucked. take this from someone who likes spongebob. it's just a cash grab, and completely destroys any good will the series made up til that point. i grew up loving the original movie, and the fact that they did this to the show genuinely hurts. meanwhile, i see sonic as autistic furry shit, yet i loved both of the recent movies. it just happens sometimes.
>some old and busted game series which peaked 20 years ago in fricking SA2 in popularity, which only managed to be remember by 5 games >vs spongebob
>sonic still wins
Sonic on his peak "90s console war" era is a fricking legend when you think about it, never a character has ever competed against Mario for so long, maybe Steve from Minecraft could be a contender but then again he isn't really a character.
>maybe Steve from Minecraft could be a contender but then again he isn't really a character
Well, there is a Minecraft movie still in the works despite being in development hell forever. As for the new Mario movie, I don't think it would even be as meme worthy as either Sonic movies.
>Paid review, normies and RE fans are shitting all over it.
I'm not fully convinced of this because if I've learned anything, there's a really vocal demographic that will review bomb anything that they think is "woke". And RE game fans are notoriously moronic, and kind of racist. TLOU2 was only 2 years ago, you know. It's supposedly #2 on Netflix right now.
Remember, this is the same site where critics shat on the following great kino: >Freddy Got Fingered >Uwe Boll's Postal >Road to El Dorado >OG Jumanji >Spaceballs >Rat Race >Dunston Checks In >The Pest

wesker is a b***h and jade is annoying but it's still occasionally funny enough to keep me watching. of course i'm not actually giving netflix any money though lmao
The bright side of this is that they'll stop trying to include game nonsense and go back to the Andersonverse. This is a win-win for everyone involved.
I'm starting to wonder how much of resetera is just people pretending to be moronic and blending in perfectly as a result since otherwise they'd get banned for wrongthink
"So bad it's good" only works if there's some sincerity behind it originally. If the shit was designed for clicks, memes and to rile up people from the get go, it always just ends up being pathetic.
It’s surprisingly fun to watch. If you can resist being swayed by Gankerners who didn’t watch the show, you might actually enjoy it. Nothing woke about, despite the narrative these threads try to push.
Remember back on the good old days when Ganker were the trolls? This place gets so fricking mad over a female being in a video game now. They’re so soft.
Maybe back in the retro era, luckily we’ve evolved since then.

Not much apparently, considering 90% of the games that are lauded for their stories have trash writing.

I bet you think TLOU2 has bad writing even though you didn’t play it.

Anonymous
I wouldn't know, I haven't played it and don't ever plan to. Something I did play was Bioshock Infinite, which was one of three games being referred to as the "Citizen Kane" of gaming at the time. I don't suppose I have to tell you how accurate a statement that is.

Fair point, appreciate the honesty. The show obviously doesn’t have award-worthy writing, but it’s absolutely a fun ass show to watch.
Anonymous
No, RE's writing has not evolved since then, and again, it's a game so no one with a functioning brain gives that much of a shit. So now you have a show with shit writing that doesn't have a fun game to accompany it.

We’ve had 100 threads of people whining about how the writing isn’t faithful to the games, blah blah blah. Even though this show is easily the most faithful to the series easily. Why cry about entertainment online when you haven’t played/watched it? It’s bizarre.

Anonymous
That's funny, I don't remember saying anything about whether it was faithful in my post. At least make your strawmen believable.

I didn’t say that you specifically said that, I said that we’ve had 100 threads of people crying about it. Read the threads bro

Well then I'm not sure why you thought your comment was relevant to me or why you think I should give a shit about what kind of threads other people are making.
lol, arcane was decent, but definitely not good. huge lack of worldbuilding. it specifically pandered to LOL players that were familar with the lore first. i had no clue what was going on and very confused. same feeling i had with the warcraft movie. good premise, but stupid assumption the audience knows what the frick the setting and characters is
>i had no clue what was going on and very confused.
Huh? What was there to be confused by? I know absolutely nothing about the franchise but I had no issues understanding "big fancy city with downtrodden underclass beneath it".
The only good vidya-based kino: >The first Van Damme Street Fighter >The first Paul WS Mortal Kombat >The first Jolie Tomb Raider >Paul WS Resident Evil 1, 2 and Afterlife >The first Doom w/ The Rock >The first Silent Hill movie >Uwe Boll's Postal >The first Hitman movie >2014 Need for Speed >The Angry Birds Movie >Rampage w/ The Rock (frick you, I liked it. Cope and seethe) >Sonic kino 1 & 2 (frick you, I liked them both. Cope and seethe)
>Tomb Reddit >shits on a kino like the RE movies >prefers shitty bullshit 12-yo boy as Lara Croft
You sound like a sad reddit gay. Keep consooming product and go back.
I don't understand why Resident Evil is so hard to adapt. You just have a team of cops go to a mansion for a disturbance and they get attacked by zombies and monsters. How is this so hard?
Me neither considering what the games are able to accomplish. RE7/8 go for wildly different styles inspired by two different Hollywood genres, but in the end is able to tie it all back into the greater RE lore. You can make anything resident evil, but they still frick it up.
the first game, either the original or remake, would make for a terrible show or movie. the characters are bland, the story is told trough files you find, and the way they progress trough the place is nonsensical. I do think the novels, while not being award worthy, did a great job at giving characters backstories and motivations. I've said it before in these threads since like the Andersongay I'm always here, 7 is the one that really could be adapted into a good show, and since it's barely connected to the rest, you could tie it in with either this show or even wtrc since they might do more of them (it sold really well on demand apparently). >reduce the number of molded and the light puzzles >make it a 6 episodes show where one of them is devoted completely to the Bakers pre-infection, how nice they all were (except Lucas, but I would also ignore the fact that he killed a kid when he was like 12), how they were planning on building a bnb, and how they got Eveline and all that >the reforms they were going trough would give an excuse for some places being hard to access >begin the series with the sewer gators clip, cast Charlie Kraslavsky and Eric Pirius as the producers since they're begging to reappear somehow and put Apostolides as the camera guy for easy fanservice >have a subplot about Joe living his hermit life and finding out his family is in danger, he comes at the end to force blue umbrella to save zoe once ethan mia and redfield leave
I would personally make ethan, mia, zoe and lucas a bit younger. Have ethan and mia be around 30, with lucas being mid 20s and zoe early 20s. I would cast walton goggins as jack and juliette lewis as marguerite. I like sophia lillis for zoe, and was thinking about that popular new stranger kids actor for ethan since you really need to appeal to a wide audience. Since its impossible to not raceswap someone, have mia be black but cute so pol doesnt go completely crazy, maybe zazie beetz
If you really didn't want to follow a game, you could even just do before Resident Evil 2, with the cops making their final stand in the RPD and end with them like all dying and Leon arriving as a little stinger ending.
So the show was pretty bad but I thought it was neat that it somehow doesn't really violate the canon of any of the games as far as I'm aware.
Everything with the Weskers was great, I liked hearing the line about the original wesker dying in a volcano.
They could've renamed some things and removed the lickers and then you wouldn't have ever known it was supposedt o have anything to do with resident evil.
Yeah, I get that. But there is a difference between putting up with it to hang out with friends and actually defending it or further spending money on the trash
I liked 1 and 2, I didn't watch any of them after that.
I only saw 1 and 4 (I think, it was the one after the one with clones). I only went to see 4 because some friends wanted me to go
[...]
This. even if they don't want to admit it's fricking cringe that they have a character nothing like who he's based on they still HAVE to bring it up.
[...]
Truth.

If they were just some generic action horror movie then you would be correct. But they weren't supposed to be that. They were supposed to be Resident Evil.

I dunno man I just thought the pacing was awful and it strayed way, way to far from the source material to justify having the name. I mean it definitely could have been worse as is evidenced by the latest "RE" media
>make adaptation >deviate from source material >core fanbase (the audience) feels alienated >adaptation barely resembles source material >normies watch adaptation and think that it's an accurate representation of source material
Why? >adaptation falls flat >"At least we made it OUR way!"
Why does this happen every single time holy shit
i have thought about it a lot and to be honest, adapting a game to a movie is essentially impossible to pull off well you are better off taking the base elements of the story and making something completely original than trying to adapt elements of a game to a movie screen i even sware in welcome to racoon city they used game screeenshots as backdrops
netflix' catalog is painfully mediocre to bad. I just don't understand people that watch it. At least HBO or Disney+ has mostly high quality work, but I just don't understand people who are raving about this level of mediocrity. I just don't get it, do people not have taste?
sadly no streaming service or anywhere else provides easy convenient access to 3d movies especially since now to watch a 3d movie you only need a Quest 2 and virtual desktop
And where are Barry and Rebecca?
i went and saw it in a theater and then got confused at the reviews it got sure its not spectacular but its better than the scores it got
It was garbage and your apathy towards it shows how youre a shit eating tertiary good goy consumer
>hey you know I thought this movie was ok
>soi boy the israelites got your mind you're an untermensch go suck bbc you will never be a woman have a nice day go drink onions and eat bugs and dont forget your vax
>netflix
because of course it fricking is...
let me guess, the zombies are lgbtqp+?
Black stained*
it's only "white wash" because you wash things to make them clean and nice.
>the poster thing
If you don't even know what a Licker is why are you even in this thread? Did you help write this show?
spiders croc and other stuff is in the games too, do you even play them?
>Spiders
Not the same species, the ones that appear in the game are tarantulas, these are closer to black widows or violins
>Croc
I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing and it's cool the croc shows up but considering what this show is, I'm going to assume they completely missed the point of that boss fight by either making him smart and target shit that he knows he couldn't eat or taking him out of the water so he can be in exposed sun light in an open field to add insult to injury.
code veronica had non-tarantula spiders
Don't lie to yourself anon, you know these frickers did the bare minimum to understand the RE games, I don't think they got that far into them, I'm sure they heard "RE has giant spiders" and they instantly bought a spider pack in the unreal engine asset store, used the most generic one they could find and add the mandatory tumors and extra fangs they put on the caterpillar.
just saying they were the spiders from the games or close enough
the show sucks
crocs were in re5 too but infection was debatable, they were just large but not abnormally so
You called it.
That is some stupid-ass shit.
black washed just seems less of an insult. We need a new term for it, perhaps tar babied?
Black-stained. Since they stain the character from its previous iterations. It doesn't change it but it sure as hell stains it. And like most stains, you can just wash them back again.
>one of them is a black furry weeb and the other one is LGBT+ who gets -ack'd in the first episode but it's hinted to be "alive".
I can tell you haven't actually watched the first episode. Daughter 1 says the furry thing as a joke because she's an edgy teenager and Daughter 2 is very clearly alive at the end of episode 1
And let's not forget that in this series the events of the games are canon, including RE5.
So how did Wesker survive a rocket to the face with his body in lava?
gee how come they didn't think of that! I watched the first 35 seconds of the show and they didn't explain that obvious plothole so I stopped watching
Zombies?
Zombies?
Zombies?
Zombies?
In MY Resident Evil, chud?
The first two movies are decent
Has Netflix made ANYTHING good?
I liked Dark, even when season 3 wasn't as good as the first 2, it's definitely way stronger than any other Netflix original
adding it to my list, thanks.
I'm looking forward to 1899
Hell yeah, Dark is great
Season 1 was great
Season 2 was (mostly) great, yet tied to the first one in a really weird way
Last chapter from season 2 and season 3 are garbage
Did it got cancelled?
No, it was actually finished by the creator, season 3 aimed to solve everythig and it kinda did.
I'm Thinking of Ending Things
just because something is on netflix doesnt mean netflix made it.
Dark Crystal, which they canned
Dont remind me
I’ve enjoyed Ozark, Stranger Things, Umbrella Chronicles, Archive 81, Squid Game, that’s about it I think. But all of those are quality.
Cobra Kai. That's all Netflix has.
How can they cash in with these shows if hardly anyone watches them due to how terrible they review and how bad their word of mouth is?
Mindhunter flopped and cancelled and arcane wasnt netflix they were just a distributor.
we were talking about good shows on Netflix, not just commercially successful ones.
>Mindhunter, as far as storytelling, writing and acting goes is absolute leagues above any Marvel and Star Wars shit that makes up almost the entire library of their main competitor
wow what a high bar just be better than movies and shows for kids. tried to imitate true detective but flopped because its shit.
It's nothing whatsoever like true detective. Why the frick are you so stuck on this one show? I just brought it up as one of many examples. Also Disney+ shows aren't made for kids. SW and Marvel is watched by perpetually online manchildren, not actual children.
Better Call Saul is an AMC production. And Netflix didn't get the latest season until a week before the latest season began airing.
Live action adaptions of animated or video game content is just bad on principle. It's a cursed process the world over.
Also went to shit after season 1. Drunk Johnny bullying zoomers was fun but now it's some shitty teen drama.
>Didn't know The Karate Kid is a teen drama
ngmi
I'm 95% sure that it was youtube original for like 3 seasons
2, but that further reinforces my point that Netflix is worthless for streaming and should only be used for an endless stream of BDs to rip.
Ozark's ending is as bad as Lost's, and that's saying something.
filtered
First season of Altered Carbon was decent.
Age of Resistance.
Of course they only funded one season, but still.
House of Cards Season 1
Stranger Things Season 1
Love Death and Robots Season 1
Altered Carbon Season 1
Ozark Season 1
The Umbrella Academy Season 1
Black Summer Season 1
Squid Game Season 1
wtf happened to Love Death and Robots, btw? Season 2 had like 2 good episodes, and season 3 had like 4. WTF was that episode they're using as the banner for it now? That was dogshit, why use it as advertisement for a show? Even the bad episode in season 1 were at least watchable.
i didn't even finish season 3, somewhat liked the zergs episode
Kill Team Kill, Bad Traveling, Swarm, and Mason Rats were all good.
The robots episode was okay, as well as the Night of the mini dead.
Vaulted halls was bland.
Pulse of the machine was nicely animated, but everything else was dogshit.
Jibaro was god awful.
Why do they all stop being good after 1 season? Are the show makers exposed to mass moron arrays during production for the following seasons?
I'm assuming they are either given too much freedom, or not enough afterwards.
There's that story about one of the owners being grandson of the Propaganda's father and his grandpa being Freud.
Political correctness was invented by the far-right, though, dumb revisionist /misc/nog.
Was it actually politically correct if the KKK were its only social enforcers? They literally were the moral police of America's Anglo heritage.
Political correctness was incepted by the fricking Bolsheviks you historically illiterate idiot
I think it's because the pitch, which is the zinger, is only ever realized in season 1 along with its novelty.
Business anon here.
The end result is rushed ideas with overly ambitious attempts at spectacle that fall flat on their face.
>have to make a script for a show
>have no idea if it will get a second season
>just make a story for a single season, wrapping it up
>get a second season
>have no idea how to keep the story going because you already put you biggest ideas and set pieces in the first one (dont want to leave any in the drawer in case you dont get a second season)
>rely on external screen writers to stretch the show as much as you can
>no vision, no passion, just a 9/5 job
House of Cards stayed pretty good after Season 1. It was later seasons when they tried to make Claire more important then Frank (culminating in the final season where Frank was gone, because Kevin Spacey is a creepy homosexual) that it started getting worse. They kept trying to make me care about her, but all I saw was a frickup liability who bored me to death everytime she was on screen.
>Black summer
>Ever being good
It definitely wasn't the worst thing ever but every shot had that "we made Sharknado and Z nation" style they are famous for.
>Altered Carbon Season 1
YAAAS QUEEN SLAY SUPER ROBOT
>The Umbrella Academy Season 1
NOW THAT I KNOW I'M SPECIAL I'M GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD BECAUSE REASONS
my sister made me watch umbrella academy with her and I was forced to witness Luther's intelligence fade even more as the episodes trundled on
>Squid Game Season 1
That thing had anime tier writing and was so bland.
And that's why it was such a hit amongst normalgays, it's a life-action animu.
It was literally a Kaiji ripoff but with all the soul sucked out of it
>House of Cards
Wasn't the first few seassons HBO's work?
>Squid Game
Boy... Opinion discarded. Only good things are first two episodes and then laughing at how stupidly written it is (esspecially the VIPs).
>altered carbon season 1
I lasted until season 2 episode 3, how far did you guys get before losing all hope that the show could still be good?
The show lost me when they yeeted the MC out. I know canonically he's the same consciousness but I couldn't give a frick about a new lead actor.
Yes
Sex education
I thought Daredevil was decent
Only season 1
Ganker unironically loved season 1 of DD but only the first season because it was as close as a Gosling-type literally me character in capeshit.
S2 was boring as shit with the ninjas, but S3 was good when Kingpin started carrying again
The ninjas are the best part. LMAO'ing @ ur shit taste
I dont know if it counts, but Jojo part 6 is breddy good. Shame about the scheduling though.
>Jojo part 6 is breddy good
Produced by Warner Bros.
I really liked Devilman Crybaby, though that was more distribution.
Maniac was actual kino. The story has purpose and it's a one and done season.
>best thing Netflix has ever put out
>they don't push it at all
>it miserably flops and nobody watches it
A damn shame. Great show.
The OA was excellent and taken from us too soon
Dark Crystal series was much better than the original movie it’s a prequel to.
Punisher S1
What the frick were they thinking with S2, jesus christ
Im glad I wasnt the only one who hated S2. Literally sapped all of my exictement for the season in the first episode.
Don't judge me.
Also agree with these:
Maniac and Queen's Gambit are both pretty good
>d-d--dont judge m-m-mee
Ill judge you for being insecure about other people judging you and not have the gonards to stand by what you like while not giving a frick what rando's think.
With a Japanese studio doing the animations, a Japanese writer and director.
>curse of the obra dinn [upscaled 4k].mp4
>they made an official queen's gambit board game
>it's not just chess
Bought the rights for a "not bad" show that was a copy of Alice in Borderland
I don't know if they made it or just produced it but Narcos was great.
When something is successful you have people bum-rushing like parasites to get a piece of the action. This explains it if there are changes in staff from season 1 to 2-3-4. If there isn't then it doesn't explain it.
Narcos and Narcos Mexico are pure kino
Some good documentaries too
Mindhunter
Disney+ has Ted Lasso and Severance that are good, all the Marvel shows if you're into that
But none of the marvel shows were good.
Originals? Yes. Adaptions? No.
American Vandal and Mindhunter
>mindhunter
Season 3 never ever
American Vandal wasn't really doing it for me, Jimmy Tatro kind of has the Adam Devine and Charlie Day syndrome where they're only funny in shows that they also write.
Yes but only this:
I won't say any of these are "exceptional", but I did enjoy these.
>Russian Doll
>I Think You Should Leave
>Mindhunter
>The Haunting of Hill House (just the first season or whatever)
>Dark Crystal
>Love, Death, Robots
>Icarus
>Norsemen
I liked Marco Polo
This. Frbr.
I literally don't care what others say, I liked the first two seasons of Castlevania. It should have just ended on season 2, not sure why they tried to drag it on with 3 and 4.
Dark
Maniac
Travelers
Russian Doll
Mindhunter
Umbrella Academy
Ozark
Peaky Blinders
Narcos
Midnight Mass
The OA
>Friends keep asking to watch this
I feel like I'm surrounded by morons.
Why would I sit down and waste my time watching something I enjoy be adapted horribly?
Stranger Things
beat them
>Stranger Things
Season 1 was ok at best. The rest just feels like beating a dead horse
2 and 3 lost some seriousness but 4 is a nice return to form.
you just like 4 cause you can fap top millie bobbie brown without guilt now
I like 4 because the villain is just Freddy Krueger.
Gross.
it is gross still the only reason anyone would like 4
alright
The Tick
Narcos is probably the best cartelkino ever made
Spriggan
Arcane was really good
I liked F is for Family.
this one is pretty good, but netflix is trying to hide it for "some reason"
they spend quite a lot of money on Marco polo

Wow it's almost like that anon was right and they just want a quick buck
Like they do with all of their video game shows, they cast it shitty, do it shitty with a bunch of pop culture and sociopoltical shit. Get people pissed, get views, make money, and cancel it by season 2.
Yeah, but as the point was, the nogs never get called out for being part of the literal shit shows they are participating in.
Like black Captain Keyes in Halo, people should've said something but they come with the "U-Uh good actor though!..." shit to justify it, when these are as guilty as the directors who don't give a shit about the source material.
What a shame though. Imagine getting the Wesker role. Must be fun as frick.
Olyphant said the same thing about doing the Hitman movie, I know he said he only did it cause he needed money for a house. It's a job and not every actor takes roles for passion
>hey play this horribly written one dimensional generic villain
>okay
Now, name examples.
>gamergate
it's been 8 years anon
Who is the target audience for Netflix shows?
Hulu subscribers
Amerimutts
The Anderson movies are like if you gave a moron coomer a camera and told him to make an RE movie. The Netflix version is if you gave a black gay troony a camera and told him to make an RE movie (stretched into a TV show of course). The moron coomer wins by default.
Your post was 80% buzz words. Are you capable of articulating anything with an original thought?
>Your post was 80% buzz words.
And you're mom's ass was full of 80% of my cum last night. The rest went on your bedsheets later that night.
ummm,, sweatylets see YOU make a better game??
Stop bullying Anderson. The studio fricked him over with the sequels. He was not allowed to have actors redo their roles in sequels and got less and less budget so he just said frick it and did movies about his waifu instead.
Can't blame him, she's still hot too.
Just a shame her acting is so wooden. She sounds like the same character in everything she's in. Fifth Element is one of the few movies off the top of my head that she shows actual emotion beyond scared face.
That's true, I can't think of anything beyond Fifth Element either.
>stop bullying anderson!!!!!! ITS THE STUDIO'S FAULT
frick off, the only decent movie hes ever made was event horizon, and that must have been a fluke
But didn't he make Alien vs. Predator? I thought it was fun.
Episode 4 says Wesker died in the events of RE5, is this new one a faker? He transferred his mind to another body? Everybody will never know.
Do they actually directly reference the events of RE5?
>but wesker died in 2009
this and, if they ever played any game, Alex Wesker could transfer her mind to another bodies in Revelations 2.
it could be cool if an actual writer used her and made something like, the new CEO of Umbrella was actually Alex all this time.
If this is true, I might give it another chance but having the world end by zombies already feels like a deal breaker.
>Episode 4 says Wesker died in the events of RE5, is this new one a faker? He transferred his mind to another body? Everybody will never know.
Wesker has a bunch of clones.
You homosexuals say about everything.
I thought maybe it might've been at first but the movies had Wesker as a white dude.
>the only safe haven left for humans was """arcadia"" (this was a bait by umbrella to get more humans to test on lol)
What are you testing for at that point? Why are you even still doing R&D? Who are you gonna sell to, the apes?
I'm just over it, it's been years and we'll never get a quality live action adaption of RE, it deserves one and the story would do well. Guess I'll just watch the first and second RE movies and shut the frick up.
>watching the movies
Just watch this instead
The recent movie was actually good
No it wasn't. It was boring as shit.
You have very shit taste. Please go back.
>The recent movie was actually good
trump and his consequences have been a disaster for Ganker
The only good part was the section that they used as game nostalgia and it felt forced or to sort to make it worth let’s me honest here
Were they having a video call by using paint without internet...?
This is horrible...
My guess is that they used paint and used the bucket tool to fill the entire canvas with greenscreen.
Is that really how that works? Wtf?
It must've been stupider than that since if you want to do green screen for a tablet you'd have to occupy the entire screen.
You'd imagine with technology being so prevalent we wouldn't have these moments anymore. Like that old music video where the woman uses Excel as if it was a message.
Or that one shitty Arabian animated video in which the characters use MSpaint as a chat room.
Don't care, that siena girl is cute tho
The guy playing Jet was literally the only one who even gave a single frick about netbop and it is blatantly obvious as his performance is leagues better than the entire rest of the cast.
Scream Black person Black person Black person into the void all day but it's still the truth.
Faye is canonically Japanese but they made her a Hispanic, and Ed is tan/brown but they made her super white. It's always not about Black folk, anon.
Screw the race change. Faye is canonically skilled bounty hunter with amnesia but they have turned her into generic loudmouthed strong wymyn.
I'm not going to read above or below the conversation, but yeah Jet did a great job in that show, and even sounded pretty similar to Beaux Billingsly's performance.
Figures that the show's version of Black Dog Serenade was its best episode, since it gave him more time to shine.
That's a high bar tho
Not really.
Go to bed Hastings
It's made by Americans after all.
American is not a nationality; it's a diagnosis.
i miss when lickers were scary. no licker outside the original RE2 has been remotely intimidating. they keep turning them in to tigers and shit.
>i miss when lickers were scary. no licker outside the original RE2 has been remotely intimidating. they keep turning them in to tigers and shit.
The RE5 lickers were built like fricking tanks.
its a shame RE5 is unplayable without a co-op partner thanks to the AI being and equal to the special guy at work
What the frick was that?
It's from the show

reminds me of that webm with a doctor doing tiktok homosexualry to connect with a kid
fricking hell WHY
It's not better in context
Adult Asian twin is controlling her with a chip as revenge
Reminds me of the TOR webm where the Sith lady starts laughing and gesticulating wildly with the player model just standing there woodenly.
>kids like those tick tocks, how can we put one of those in the show
American deserves no less than 5 nukes.
He says, while judging the entire show based off what he thinks will be on TikTok, when it’s actually on Ganker.
The lack of brain cells is staggering, and I can taste the irony.
>when it’s actually on Ganker
the dance is literally tiktok tier shit you room temp IQ neanderthal, who the frick said anything about Ganker?
It’s LITERALLY Ganker tier, since, you know, its been posted on Ganker.
2/10
He’s right though, that shit is only popular on Ganker
Ah yes, a classic RE scene
oh yes the classic t virus symptom of random as frick dancing what are the writers even doing? if this is what writing school produces its a masssive waste of money

Dumb Black person.
Eagerly looking forward to the One Piece show. It's gonna be kino, one way or the other.
All they had to do was a more dramatic retelling of the re1 mansion, instead we got zootopia porn jokes
The Anderson movies at least had fun Anderson action scenes, good direction, and Mila Jovovich even if the writing was absolute dogshit. I remember spending so much time pausing and playing frame by frame in one of them as a kid so I could see her breasts
>you will have no redheads and you will be happy
The Anderson movies were kino and Alice is a based character
Since we got this dumb shit, which shouldn't have been a surprise.
David Lynch does RE.
A David Lynch adaptation of RE2 would be cool
The RE movies are trash, regardless of whether you like the games or not. 2018 Tomb Raider is still the only good vidya movie to date.
>2018 Tomb Raider is still the only good vidya movie to date
It was boring dogshit, homosexual. It's the worst vidya movie ever. Get better taste and go back, Black person.
It was fricking awesome, israelite. Go back to israeliteland that you stole from the arabs.
>this is you rn
Not clicking. It's probably some unboxing or reaction video anyway, zoomer.
Angelina Jolie has never done a good movie.

>never watched Mr. Plinkett
>thinks that its unboxing shit
Yep, you type and act like a baby. How's preschool.
I wouldn't know. I stopped watching YouTube over a decade ago.
Mr. Plinkett was pre-2007. RedLetterMedia started before YouTube was even a thing.
Don't care. You're still a Black person and a troony.
You're more of a Black person, Hispanic, israelite, asiatic, chink, and a troony. Let alone, a fricking special needs moron. Rope yourself.
>Tomb Reddit
>shits on a kino like the RE movies

You sound like a sad reddit gay. Keep consooming product and go back.
You type like a baby lol.
>2018 Tomb Raider is still the only good vidya movie to date.
Nah, the older one.
The Jolie movie was kino.
Keep seething, redditgay. Watch the first Jolie movie, and then come back and tell me that the godawful reboot is better, because it isn't. Also, you will never be black, trans or a woman.
This. even if they don't want to admit it's fricking cringe that they have a character nothing like who he's based on they still HAVE to bring it up.
Ready to apologize to Mr. Anderson??

yes, everything single one you quoted, is pozzed.
t. Ganker
Most of them are good, if you let your politics get in the way of enjoying something then I don't know what to tell you.
How can something be good if it has woke sjwshit in it?
Capcom subhumans sold netisraelite a license to their IP thinking they won the deal by free money (free blackrock money)
Notice how they don't think about what Netpedo actually does with the IP and how that would be bad for brand recognition? which is spread israeli propaganda and degeneracy, nettroon like all israeli companies operate at a loss.
To their credit, Capcom always ignores the stupid adaptations. On the other hand, Mortal Kombat has been adding randon shit from them since forever.
lol
>pronounced naya
If it isn't pozzed in some way netflix won't fund it
More like a strict guideline to include a certain number of LGBT without any question since it is part of the contract.
This thread is nothing but a paid advertsiment for shitflix and you should all be ashamed for yourselves for participating in it.
>This thread is nothing but a paid advertsiment for shitflix
How so?
The postal movie was better. At least Uwe Boll knew that he knew his stuff was trash/used for money laundering and just had fun with postal and made the most accurate vidya movie(besides DOA and MK 1995)
There's a DOA movie? And it's good?
I wish the KOF movie wasn't dogshit
If you like MK 1995, boobs, and some campiness I think you might like it. Fights were fun.
Sounds like a blast honestly, and I'm not even huge on breasts. I'll have to check it out. I picked up DOA1 for Xbox a bit ago and it was pretty fun.
Enjoy brother. Spread the word of DOA and Postal. Ninja Gaiden Ryu is in too Closest thing to a DMC movie is Versus 2000.
I actually like Uwe Boll's movies. Postal was quite good.
Postal is kino for sure.
Didn't Uwe Boll throw a tantrum on twitter and challenge anyone who didn't like his movies to a boxing match?
he was a pussy that only challenged people he knew he can beat, like Floyd Mayweather
>height: 5'8"
the smallest dogs really do bark the loudest
A boxer said he applied and was rejected when Uwe Boll found out he was a real boxer.
The guy who actually got selected admitted he never watched any uwe boll movies in his life and got paid to fight him.
RE4 & 5 were fun films.
fact! only Money Heist benefitted from Netflix
fact! it was good because the writer had the full series written before getting bought by Netflix
fact! the spinoffs will continue to be good because the writer has a shitton control over the series
glorified Latino soap opera
>Resident Evil franchise is about an evil pharmaceutical company turning people into zombies
>fans of the games still got the vax
????
Must be nice thinking fiction is reality.
Fiction is a warning about aspects of reality
Or, it's fiction
Except the whole "turning people into zombies" was never a intended goal for the company and there only was an outbreak because of internal sabotage.
Why the frick they just don't cash Ella Balinska as Sheva Alomar works together with Chris in U.S.A. It's not that hard to do that.
I could even buy Chris as having some kind of Spanish or latino background if you go the RE5 route
I don't think Buster Scruggs does. Hell, one of the stories ends with a guy drowning the quadruple-amputee brother he'd exploited for money because he got a parrot that people were more interested in
Why do israelites hate redheads this much?
Apologize
Daughter looks like a fricking troony

So what was the deal with this character, was she added just to give a role to Mila because she was banging the director?
Pretty much
god bless mila the only flat actress i can think of in the last 20 years
His entire filmography is making movies for his wife plays a cool badass in sexy clothing which is simultaneosly cringe and based
Conceptually based maybe, but the resulting product is exclusively cringe. Trash director, trash actor.
for a second I always thing that girl is Enji Night
I hope she takes her mothers role as a young alice clone and they make more resident evil kino
What are the best Anderson RE movies?
if you absolutely need to watch one or two, which I dont recommend, the first two are the best. The best in this case means terrible garbage though.
1 and 2. They are average at best. After that it becomes shlock kino. If you are into that you can have some fun.
Afterlife was fun, but the first two are easily the best.
people underestimate just how full of ridiculous camp this is, hell they even throw in a sizeable amount of references to the games. it's an objectively shit show, but the absurdity almost makes it enjoyable.
Ok the series is bad and there is to much high school drama. But what about the monster shit? The stuff in the trailer looks actually good.
Man, Esau buck broke the israelites so hard that they go ballistic every time they see a redhead. Which is hilarious because israelites also possess the red hair gene.
>Yu Yu Hakusho is next along with one piece.
Christ do we need another db evolution to stop this shit?
Truth.
>start watching this it's literally just Black folk
Holy frick why do the producer and writers hate themself so fricking much? I can't be white guilt at this point.
It's just massive self hate probably brainwashed by some fricking teacher. God this show is fricking disguting. Good thing you can actually watch good stuff on netflix.
lance reddick is great but this was clearly a script that was retooled to be mildly resident evil related
Man I lost my side during this shit.
It's ok show, just for the laughs. Bert is the best. Also that scene with the fatty in prison.
>"Some Redfields are always tryin' to ice-skate uphill."
>lance reddick is great but this was clearly a script that was retooled to be mildly resident evil related
I don't think he ever said it wasn't.
>Somehow knows all of that
Gave yourself away
Anyone who has followed the attempt to reboot RE without Paul W.S. Anderson knows this. Without Anderson's guiding hand, they've been floundering for years, with CG movies nobody cares about and movies based on the games that flopped, and this TV show that wanted to appeal to fans of the games and fans of the films, but has issues that make it struggle to appeal to either.
I mean yeah, the RE is not going to get a good adaption. I've given up on that after this show, it sucks, and yes, I am bitter.
I know that Mila's a weirdo, d-do you think she'd spit in my mouth if I asked nicely?
Wasn't she Meg Griffin from Family Guy? And wasn't she off of Bad Moms, Black Swan, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and That 70s Show?
You're thinking of Mila Kunis.
Is there anything old school/george romero zombie show or movie worth watching on Netflix or Prime? something with some good, slow and undead zombies
It's amusing how everyone has wiped the existence of this movie from their minds.
it gets brought up in every re thread you idiot. it was mentioned in the literal first message of this thread
It still gets talked about time to time in some groups I'm in. Not widely.
You say that as if forgetting this existed required some sort of active effort.

Sonichads still won.
The only people who like Sonic are relentlessly autistic.
>reddithog
>ow the edge-hog acting like he's some kind of sophisticated Black person instead of just being a Black person.
while the 2020 Sonic movie is ok (it's just a generic road trip comedy, yet Jim Carrey as Eggman was phenomenal), its sequel, however, is true kino. I still think Sonic games suck and its fanbase are extreme levels of autistic cringe.
to be fair, the new spongebob movie absolutely sucked. take this from someone who likes spongebob. it's just a cash grab, and completely destroys any good will the series made up til that point. i grew up loving the original movie, and the fact that they did this to the show genuinely hurts. meanwhile, i see sonic as autistic furry shit, yet i loved both of the recent movies. it just happens sometimes.
>some old and busted game series which peaked 20 years ago in fricking SA2 in popularity, which only managed to be remember by 5 games

I will die without ever watching anything on Transflix.
I remember the days when Netflix used to be a mailing rental company where you rent DVDs, Blu-Rays and video games. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
the Anderson movies where at least entertaining
I am so tired of this current trend of ironic media made for clicks. As the ancient Cambodian proverb says: ironic shitposting is still shitposting.
GameSpot 9/10
Must be amazing.
Paid review, normies and RE fans are shitting all over it.
Yeah, it hasn't nothing to do with "woke" stupid shit. That word has no meaning.
>That word has no meaning.
That's kind the point. It's completely meaningless, but these morons keep accusing stuff of being "woke".

Am I a weird person for not wanting to talk about all my problems with everyone all the time? People really seem to like doing that these days.
No but you don't have thousands of parasocial dickriders who will heal your hurt fee-fees with unfound praise and assurance because they view you as their friend.
I would think a bunch of people stroking me just because I'm famous would feel less genuine than the support of a spouse or close personal friend but whatever works for these freaks I guess.

I actually really like the idea of a live action series where all the dumbass shit that happened in the games is canon, but the execution is terrible.
As I thought, RE fans will consume anything you give them as long as it says 'Resident Evil' on the cover.
I really enjoyed the show. All of the events from the games happened in the show, it’s just years later.
Will rightoids ever stop crying?
Go away, shill. How much is israelitebergenstein paying you to shill this goyslop?

The bright side of this is that they'll stop trying to include game nonsense and go back to the Andersonverse. This is a win-win for everyone involved.
Why do these threads attract a lot of incels from resetera defending this garbage?
THIOS TV SREIES SUUUUCKS!!!!!!!! FRICK YOOOOOUUUUUUUUU ANDERSON
I'm starting to wonder how much of resetera is just people pretending to be moronic and blending in perfectly as a result since otherwise they'd get banned for wrongthink
As someone who really likes the games and universe. Should I watch it to laugh at it, or is it not even good enough for that?
"So bad it's good" only works if there's some sincerity behind it originally. If the shit was designed for clicks, memes and to rile up people from the get go, it always just ends up being pathetic.
It’s surprisingly fun to watch. If you can resist being swayed by Gankerners who didn’t watch the show, you might actually enjoy it. Nothing woke about, despite the narrative these threads try to push.
ah those damn Ganker virgins
That shit was hilarious, and the fact that it trolled Ganker THIS hard makes it even better. I mean look at all the seething from the past few days.
Remember back on the good old days when Ganker were the trolls? This place gets so fricking mad over a female being in a video game now. They’re so soft.
shut up israelite
Why is it so hard to even make a DECENT video game or anime live action show or movie? I don't fricking understand.
This show IS decent. Give it a shot if you can mentally handle black people. It doesn’t even mention politics.
I don't care about black people, I care about the fricking horrible writing you dumb Black person
Are you implying that RE games have good writing? Because they seriously don’t. Just like the show, it’s fun brainless entertainment.
Better writing than this shit.
It’s really not. I ducking love the games, but the writing is borderline nonsensical often.
I don't care what your opinion is.
Nobody said the games had good writing, dumbass. But games are games, writing is the last thing that matters in them.
This is a show.
Maybe back in the retro era, luckily we’ve evolved since then.
Not much apparently, considering 90% of the games that are lauded for their stories have trash writing.
I bet you think TLOU2 has bad writing even though you didn’t play it.
>I don't care
That's all you had to say.
>Of all the games to actually get a good adaptation it's fricking League of Legends.
Like how?
Because the chinks had their hand on it. And the chinks hate woke trash.
lol, arcane was decent, but definitely not good. huge lack of worldbuilding. it specifically pandered to LOL players that were familar with the lore first. i had no clue what was going on and very confused. same feeling i had with the warcraft movie. good premise, but stupid assumption the audience knows what the frick the setting and characters is
>i had no clue what was going on and very confused.
Huh? What was there to be confused by? I know absolutely nothing about the franchise but I had no issues understanding "big fancy city with downtrodden underclass beneath it".
you might just be moronic

KNEEL
Funny thing is, we could've had a Sims movie. Now THAT would've been kino.
We already had a sims movie, Jerma was in it.
I mean theatrical movie, dumbass moron.
Yeah, Jerma was in it.
Isn't Joel in it, or am I thinking of a Sims series?
Cope
Baxter was a fricking great character.
I'm israeli and I didn't like the show. I watched two episodes and I won't be watching more.
I don't understand why Resident Evil is so hard to adapt. You just have a team of cops go to a mansion for a disturbance and they get attacked by zombies and monsters. How is this so hard?
I have no idea, then it's shitty casting and a whole bunch of other stupid things.
I've said it before in these threads since like the Andersongay I'm always here, 7 is the one that really could be adapted into a good show, and since it's barely connected to the rest, you could tie it in with either this show or even wtrc since they might do more of them (it sold really well on demand apparently).
>reduce the number of molded and the light puzzles
>make it a 6 episodes show where one of them is devoted completely to the Bakers pre-infection, how nice they all were (except Lucas, but I would also ignore the fact that he killed a kid when he was like 12), how they were planning on building a bnb, and how they got Eveline and all that
>the reforms they were going trough would give an excuse for some places being hard to access
>begin the series with the sewer gators clip, cast Charlie Kraslavsky and Eric Pirius as the producers since they're begging to reappear somehow and put Apostolides as the camera guy for easy fanservice
>have a subplot about Joe living his hermit life and finding out his family is in danger, he comes at the end to force blue umbrella to save zoe once ethan mia and redfield leave
Is this the one with a monkey playing wesker and hes got 5 chinese wives?
>watching israeli trash
>2022
Frick off to pol
excuse me while i just abandon all forms of entertainment
Unironically this. All Hollywood and AAA, at least.
Some of us have friends and actually get invited to hang out tho
Yeah, I get that. But there is a difference between putting up with it to hang out with friends and actually defending it or further spending money on the trash
I only saw 1 and 4 (I think, it was the one after the one with clones). I only went to see 4 because some friends wanted me to go
>My post about Black person apologists for these shitty adaptations getting a pass for """"acting"""" gets deleted
>Along with other posts agreeing with it
WOAAAAAAAAAH BASED MODS CLEANING UP THE BOARD FROM CHUDS BUT LEAVING 20 PORN THREADS ON THE FIRST PAGE
BASED BASED BASED BASED
None of the posts replying to your original post got deleted you dumb Black person
Everything israelites touch turns to shit. I know the Anderson movies were trash but how could you have possibly had higher expectations for this?
they whre not trash they where just stupid popcorn flicks expecting some grand message out of a silly action movie is idiotic
Learn2punctuate and yes they were fricking trash
getfrickingrekt
and no they were middling but not trash trash means unwatchable
If they were just some generic action horror movie then you would be correct. But they weren't supposed to be that. They were supposed to be Resident Evil.
I liked 1 and 2, I didn't watch any of them after that.
i liked one and i considered 2 to be the best out of all of them but i might be biased cause tomboy alice is sexy
I dunno man I just thought the pacing was awful and it strayed way, way to far from the source material to justify having the name. I mean it definitely could have been worse as is evidenced by the latest "RE" media
Get that shit out of here.
Am I the only one that loves the Double Dragon movie?
I thought it was fun.
Same movie. They're both amazing.
>implying watch it for the character
Nah man someone should just focus on the big fricking monsters
>make adaptation
>deviate from source material
>core fanbase (the audience) feels alienated
>adaptation barely resembles source material
>normies watch adaptation and think that it's an accurate representation of source material
Why?
>adaptation falls flat
>"At least we made it OUR way!"
Why does this happen every single time holy shit
>tfw the only source they get right is the monsters
Every fricking time and they don’t learn
You know it's bad when even reddit is barely defending it.
i have thought about it a lot and to be honest, adapting a game to a movie is essentially impossible to pull off well you are better off taking the base elements of the story and making something completely original than trying to adapt elements of a game to a movie screen i even sware in welcome to racoon city they used game screeenshots as backdrops
>saves the entire show with one scene
Nothing personal kiddo
netflix' catalog is painfully mediocre to bad. I just don't understand people that watch it. At least HBO or Disney+ has mostly high quality work, but I just don't understand people who are raving about this level of mediocrity. I just don't get it, do people not have taste?
Paramount+ on the other hand...
sadly no streaming service or anywhere else provides easy convenient access to 3d movies especially since now to watch a 3d movie you only need a Quest 2 and virtual desktop
People don't fully watch a lot of stuff, they have it on in the background while doing something else.
>Anderson movies
i liked the first two
GOYIM BTFO AGAIN
Now to ruin Half Life, my israelitebros!
mario is next though anon
Mario's already been done wonderfully.
