Khu's latest tweet was a meme of that one pineapple apple dude combining Volcarona and Hydreigon together to make an apple. Basically, he's implying that Dipplin's evolution will be some combination of the two, likely referring to it's typing allegedly being Dragon/Bug.
It looks like OP is taking that a step further with schizo Unova theories or something
This is just drawing connections where there is none. There is no way that they chose Bug as a typing solely to match Alder and Ghetsis, arbitrarily. All Pokemon share types from a pool, it's inevitably going to line up in millions of ways, this is just random happenstance. And not even unlikely at that.

It wouldn't imply that at all. Period. It's got no direct connection outside of sharing a region. May as well say that it's also referencing Drayden/Iris and Burgh, I mean, theyre both from Unova after all. Oh, and it also must reference Scolipede and Druddigon, I mean, the evidence is right there.

Then you're making an unrelated, and pointless argument. A later anon (be it you trying to obfuscate intentionally, or someone else), started defending the implication.
You're getting caught up in semantics with the "solely" thing and autistically missing the point of the conversation in the first place. Regardless of if it is "solely" given as a type as a reference, it's not a reference at all, period. Hence the original conversation.

The leaker teased "the apple" (Dipplin's evo already datamined to exist in The Indigo Disk, Kieran's true ace) takes some characteristic from Volcarona and Hydreigon, which happen to be the aces of the final bosses of BW, set in Unova just like The Indigo Disk.

Thats the thought I had as well. Like, the apple has either been entirely consumed, or diminished to the point of being just an outer casing or something, and the "Worm"/Wyrm nature of the new hydra bodytype is where the Bug type is coming from.
Genuinely interested in seeing this fricker. I hope its really big, I think thatd be a cool subversion of the line's previous tendencies.

God I fricking hope so. It would make sense given Dokutaro is influencing Kieran and the loyal three were literally promoted to legendary status despite being naturally weak and trash
-First of all, it's not a worm, it's a wyrm. It's a clear play on words, with it being a "wyrm" in an apple, as opposed to a "worm" in an apple.
-Secondly, the classic "worm in an apple" isn't an actual worm, it's a caterpillar.
-Thirdly, the "wyrm" in an apple is reportedly turning into a Bug type Pokemon. Assuming this is true, not only does this mean that it's becoming closer to a "worm", aka caterpillar, and thus makes logical sense that it might have butterfly qualities, more importantly, it's a Pokemon. Which, very distinctly does not adhere strictly to real world biology like you're making an argument for. We have unrelated species evolve into unrelated species all the time, so even IF it was a "worm" and not a caterpillar, your attempted point still fails.
>it's not a worm, it's a wyrm
It's both. >classic "worm in an apple" isn't an actual worm, it's a caterpillar.

It IS based on the pun of the worm, but the worm in question is a misnomer (or possibly derives from earlier uses of the term "worm", similar to how apples used to refer to a wide variety of fleshy fruit), and is in fact a caterpillar.

The creature itself is a wyrm. It's based on the "worm in an apple" idea. The origin of that, is in fact, a caterpillar.
What Dipplin definitively is or is not isn't really important. It could very well be all 3 or just one of any of them.
