It bleeds, but slowly. But every fighting game does this, it's not just because SF6 is garbage.

if capcom had costume 3's ready for the characters, they would have made so much money. so many players have stopped playing. there must be some issues getting those costumes made or to work in the engine, it's mind-boggling that they didn't have those ready sooner. tournament mode also not working at all leads me to think this game got crunched/released a bit too early

game is actually quite fricking fun too, and they're doubling the amount of playable characters in a week in an update. but some baffling design decisions like no mission select, needing to grind the beginning level missions until you unlock the CHANCE to queue up for later more advanced ones, is just ridiculous. also the best levels are the horde shooter ones but those are infrequent.

Good luck saying this again when in a year or two you can't even play this live service game

im certain it'll go full free to play at that point. it'll have a small playerbase but yeah, i can't say i'm optimistic about the future of the game, sadly. with whatever game that capcom is expecting to release in 2024 that will sell 'millions' as they put it (monster hunter), i'm not sure if this game will survive a game from its own competitor like that.

If Monster Hunter gets announced at TGS soon then it's definitely the 2024 game they're talking about
They don't have anything that big already announced and MH usually doesn't have a long turnaround time on marketing time to release

All they had to do was make EDF: Dinosaurs Edition. How did they screw that up?

EDF never drew a fricking dime kiddo. they had to lean into the hero shooter as that's what sells.

the games costs a couple of yen to make bro, if they sell 300 copies it's a massive profit

Excluding the budget games about half of them released in the west have been abject failures.

the only ones that could be considered failures were two of the spin-offs, Insect Armageddon, which came out shortly before EDF became very popular in the West with 4's release, and Iron Rain.
even World Brothers sold very well.

Steam charts mean nothing. that Onirism game that's shilled all the time here has a peak of 28 players, yet the dev has shared that it sold over 11k copies last year.
also a World Brothers 2 was announced the other day, if it sold poorly it wouldn't be getting a sequel.
same goes for the rest of the series, and you know that.

It's getting a sequel because it sold well in Japan, not the west. It and Iron Rain bombing are the reason why the series has been canned in the west.

                Anonymous

if you weren't moronic and actually knew anything about the EDF series, they release the games in Japan first, then working on an English translation for about a year, then another 6~ months after that for a PC port.
we already know EDF 6 is coming to the West, the series isn't "canned", EDF 5 sold incredibly well, and you're a moron.

                Anonymous

They announce western releases a few months in advance. 6 has been out in Japan for almost exactly a year already and there's been no news it's coming over at all, despite the anniversary providing the best opportunity.
                It's dead.

Why does modern capcom feel so soulless now
    Even MH feels corporate now
And all their presentations are so sanitized in the worst ways
Every game has some gay agenda and tries to pick a fight with the old fanbase
I miss SF4 era with MH4U, Lost Planet 2, MVC3 and a shitton of other games even on the gba and nds but people will just call me a nintendie or snoy now

      Anonymous

MH got too big too fast. The shitty practices that were laughed off in SF5 were widely accepted by World gays because this was their first game, now Capcom is incentivized to push it even further. World and Rise have over 150$ of MTX each and it's only going to get worse with the sequel . Exos failure is because as a new IP, it didn't have the ability to get away with live service shit in the same way established game series do.
