I love this image as if Blastoise isn’t the neglected child of Gen 1. “Muh cannons” when it was always much less optimized than Venusaur and was never even paired with the protagonist like the other two.
I understand people pointing out favoritism with things like Charizard getting two Mega, but for a long time all three gen1 starters just looked like overfeed slobs to me. Charizard didn't escape that.
Zard is the worst of gen 1 by far because it doesn't even fit as a cool monster.
Its blatantly a "cute" dragon like Dragonite but they tried to retrofit a angry face onto it.
And just like Dragonite, it suffers from terminal beer belly and looks awful to me.
Venusaur and Blastoise are not only not straight up generic, but actually feel like coherent monsters.
Its always felt absurd how zard ended up on top but thats dragons for you.
