You're not wrong. People will assume you're just bigoted but it's also a fantastic indicator of where the dev's priorities are (not making good games first and foremost).

Good. I don't even know what this is but I truly hope it flops.
There were no strong women pirates. They were taken in crews as sex slaves or caretakers. There's like 4 stronk whamen in the cover, that's already a big enough nope from me. It's gonna be shit.
How are their other games like Desperados III and Shadow Tactics?
I do like stealth games, but haven't played a stealth tactical game like this before

its real time tactics so each character has like 4 skills. you watch the patrol patterns, pause and set up moves, then execute. pretty kino
though they are not that challenging, i liked them for being a different pace of games. prefer shadow tactics over desperados because of the character /skill diversity but they're both well made. just wished the level designs were more challenging sometimes

Wasnt there another identical pirate game, with the same pallette and mechanics but by another company?
Shadow Tactics is pretty good, Desperado is ok but not stealthy enough
I just wish we had a competent Commandos spiritual successor to play. And before you say: Partisans 1941, that was pretty average to be honest, didn't hook me like the classics do. Plus i don't like playing as the soviets in video games in general. I'm fine with allies, just no Russians. I don't know why the developers of that game chose such a weird choice like that, i see it as too political charged.
this is by far one of the gayer posts I have ever read, congratulations

When was that a defense of nazis? i just question the sentiment of Russians being seen as liberators. They invaded Poland all the same and have shared guilt with nazi germany for WWII over the molotov ribbentrop pact, they weren't liberating it when they did that. They were just invading because Stalin was nothing short of a bloody thirsty dictator. So yeah i don't need to see that glorified when i play WWII games. Stalin had laid out plans to conquer all of Europe.

I feel bad for these guys. Imagine liking a genre and wanting to do your own spin on it in a different setting and then a bigger studio announces their game in the same setting. The day Shadow Gambit got announced, they probably shat themselves.

They're very good, you can get Shadow Tactics real cheap on sale too, though I personally prefer Desperados 3 because the cast is more charming. I just recommend not playing them straight after another because the characters are very similar in terms of gameplay with just some skills shuffled around.

Easier if you just play the Shadow Tactics demo, it's the first 2 (or 3?) stages for free. Don't be shy about experimenting with F5/F8 until you get the full ghost operator outcome you want, the games are built around that such they make it part of the lore in Gambit.

Definitely pick them up, the level design is tight and the gameplay is smooth and streamlined in a good way, just fun games all around.
I'm really fond of them being stealth games where you use a team with unique talents to infiltrate instead of being a lone wolf ghost, it gives off that heist movie vibe, it's cool.

shadow tactics: blades of the shogun is by far the best commandos style game, and that includes all the commandos games.

Don't be such a gay, I'm a moderate TZD advocate and I liked Partisans, they have their own unique take on the genre, it's more about setting up ambushes and raids, not pure stealth, there's also a lot of freedom to customize your characters.
If you want to feel better, remember that you play as the soviets against nazis, not 'russians', the best girl is a khazak for example.
I'm buying it anyway because i don't get much stealth games nowadays. So yes I'll even accept the real time tactics variants. This studio has had a pretty good track record so far.
Well, I guess its natural to buy a game due to the studio's performance. I found myself doing same for Cloudbreakers leaving haven when I found out Schell games were involved.
is this a remake of cultist simulator
solid game but it needs to add SOMETHING interesting
the fricking dreams and the lore is dry as shit, children's shows have edgier and more intriguing stories
yeah, possibly, it does not feel as good to play as desperados, and an even futher cry from shadow tactics.
on to of all that, I fricking hate violet/green color combinations, but thats subjective.
Isn't this that rimworld modder's game? He was 3/4ths good ideas, but seemed to not pay as much attention to balance and making the mods run more efficiently.
I'm not feeling it; the magical abilities are too crazy, the setting is not immediately interesting like feudal Japan and the wild west, no cute girls.
>Black person on the box
I am sure it will do great like every other Black person-on-the-box title. They already got an excuse for when negative reviews start coming in and sales grind to a halt.
>I am sure it will do great like every other Black person-on-the-box title.
Stealth games rarely perform well in sales. A Black person on the cover is this instance is inconsequential to the success of these games in general.
It has real time stealth but when you get spotted you start playing turn-based Xcom, while outside of encounters it's more like a CRPG. It's not a "Commandos-like" but you might still like it.
Completely different, JA is turn based combat and is a kind of RPG.
These games are Commandos-likes, which is its own subgenre of real time tactics focused on stealth.
Thanks anons, I'll wait for a sale since I'll probably be playing this anyway

I really hate how the Commandos remasters got botched like it did. I've stayed away from on it on recommendation from other anons on here. It pisses me off how the series was not treated with respect or the proper care that it deserved.
Love Mimimi. Hoping the new characters are neat, a whole lot of sassiness. I'm waiting to use the gold treasure skull fishing dude. His character design is great. Though the doctor's ability to spawn 1 bush seemed overpowered.
I'll enjoy it even if it does.

damn i didnt know they made asscreed too. also the thread is about a game set in the caribbean homosexual
Haitian Uprising simulator this ain't (that would be an interesting game though, shame no one is making it).
There were no strong women pirates. They were taken in crews as sex slaves or caretakers. There's like 4 stronk whamen in the cover, that's already a big enough nope from me. It's gonna be shit.
Why would it flop? Shadow Tactics and Desperados didn't
Some polschizo has been trying pull this narrative lately due to the PoC feMC, though none of the their threads or posts seem to stick.
>Some polschizo
its rude to talk about they/them in front of it
Don't worry their viewcone is very myopic
i understood the reference. frick i cant wait for stealth kino to be back on the menu

I just hope everyone in the crew will be viable.
based on the demo recommending you bring at least one character with that one trait, certain combinations will probably more effective than others.
I'm buying it anyway because i don't get much stealth games nowadays. So yes I'll even accept the real time tactics variants. This studio has had a pretty good track record so far.

I'm gonna buy this and Book of hours tomorrow, it's been a while since i was looking forward to games.
Jesus christ, this looks like dogshit. Literally picture book tier garbage.

When I think of pirates I think of strong independent sassy black women with huge afros.
I'm sure people are lining up to pre-order this ESG slop.

the boat herself is cute
As much as I enjoyed the first two, this one looks too pozzed, and I was never into Caribbean aesthetics
Loved desperados 3, never heard of this before until now but it's gone to an insta buy on the strength of desperados
Is this a reskin of Shadow Tactics?
Same company, so they're going to be similar but with magic
>Black person on the box
I am sure it will do great like every other Black person-on-the-box title. They already got an excuse for when negative reviews start coming in and sales grind to a halt.

Need more of these sorts of games, is jagged alliance 3 that just came out similar or it's own thing?
This is real time, not turn based like JA
Thanks anons, I'll wait for a sale since I'll probably be playing this anyway

Why is there no price yet
it's $40. $50 if you want bonus shit like the art book.
>don't they hold the rights to the IP?
no
I really wish the first Desperados game would get a remaster. Why haven't this studio done it yet? don't they hold the rights to the IP?
Love Mimimi. Hoping the new characters are neat, a whole lot of sassiness. I'm waiting to use the gold treasure skull fishing dude. His character design is great. Though the doctor's ability to spawn 1 bush seemed overpowered.
I explicitly wished for them to do a pirate themed game after Desperados 3, I'm sorry for monkeypawing it bros...
