I can't wait to pirate this
As a former poorgay I believe pirating nintendo games is morally correct
I hope one day your economic situation gets better anon
I have a nice cushy salaried job and I will never ever pay for a nintendo game.
What do you do? Operate trains?
just wait a couple weeks so emulators can update to get a proper experience
But I don't want to wait, I want it as soon as possible and I'll accept any consequences
You will be able to play it 2 weeks before official launch, just like totk
yeah but it was suboptimal
just like the intended experience!
No, it was worse than the intended experience before the emulators got updated.
Totk ran like shit though pre-release
Game should work perfectly as soon as it's available.
there's usually minor problems with shaders that get fixed within a short time
Bro, Yuzu can just use firmware out of the box.
I got mine preorder. Can't wait to play honestly since it looks refreshing. Hope you enjoy your play through too anon
Thirsty PC trannies know the Nintendo Switch gets better video games than the dogshit slop they are constantly fed.
Good to see.
>rooting for a corporation
is there anything more pathetic than tendies?
Yeah you broke ass Black folk and zoomers
I'll keep playing your games without paying a cent. cope and seethe consumerist goycattle.
Just say you are poor, it's ok homeless anon we won't judge.
a pc isn't locked to one emulator homosexual
Lately there's been a resurgence of first posts being best posts, I like that.
fpbp
Very based, I'll wait a few weeks cause I'm playing some other things at the moment, enjoy anon
Have fun. I'm glad you will enjoy a Nintendo game
I'm glad you'll have the opportunity to enjoy an actual videogame 🙂
have fun little bro
nintendo
kyoto, japan
NOOOOOOOOO!
IF YOU DO THAT THE GAME WILL ONLY SELL 13.999999 MILLION COPIES INSTEAD OF 14 MILLION!
Samsies!
I won't even bother pirating it.
Will probably replay super mario world.
Oh boy, a new standard of slop that's even sloppier than the slop that came before
it’s going to be goty for people who actually like vidya
Not much competition there... maybe Pikmin 4 and SF6
>Pikmin 4
Lol no. Demo made me cancel my preorder.
>NOOO, THE TUTORIAL IS TOO TUTORIALIZED
sneed
It is. And from the gameplay I've seen, it never stops holding your hand. It's the easiest game in the series.
>let’s play watcher thinks he knows anything about the difficulty
Lmao
I've never watched a let's play. Sorry that I don't like Pikmin casual edition.
>I don’t like this game I gained my opinion on from youtube videos
No worries dummy
I played the game. It wasn't good.
You played the demo. The endgame is harder than Pikmin 2
I beat the game and that's objectively false.
I genuinely had a harder time beating the Dog than I did the Titan Dweevil.
>demo made me cancel my pre-order
>from the gameplay I've seen...
>i played the game
So which is it
All 3.
I already know your opinion, you don’t need to keep crying simply because I don’t care about it
Okay. You can stop replying now. I'm glad you liked baby's first Pikmin game.
>n-no you stop replying 🙁
Baby’s first is pikmin 3, dumbass. Try playing the series instead of watching other play it
>I don't care about your opinion
>Replies (again)
:^)
Shut up, moron.
>S-SHUT UP moron
>I DONT CARE I DONT CARE I DONT CAAAAAARE
;^)
You said something new that was incredibly moronic, so I had to point out how little you know about Pikmin is all
XD
And you're pretending Wonder isn't going to be?
And you're pretending Mario games haven't always been for children?
I'm not though. Video games have always been for children, which is why I'm fine with Pikmin 4 and I'll be fine with Wonder. I just like fun video games.
No, I never said that. Learn to read before replying again.
>And from the gameplay I've seen, it never stops holding your hand. It's the easiest game in the series.
Then you can't have seen that much of it. At least not beyond the early/mid game.
Late game Pikmin 4 is the highest difficulty and most engaged the official Pikmin games have ever been.
The Dandori challenges in Pikmin 4 blow away anything from 2 and 3. I never had to optimize them the way I did 4.
You play 3’s DLC is had a few missions that were about as tough as 4’s hardest dandoris/trials
I only played the ones that were available with the base game. Maybe I should go back and give them a try.
I’d recommend it. They’re fun, especially the christmas themed level
I beat all of them within 1-3 tries, and it was my first Pikmin. Though I haven't tried the Sage Leaf Trials—I hear they're the hardest content in the series.
Me too actually. I was excited about it too.
More New Super Mario Bros. slop but under a different title.
I can't believe this is what Nintendo is expecting to be their big holiday game. If there was ever more solid evidence that the Switch is on its way out within the next year, I've yet to see it.
Look up how much NSMB sold on wii and switch
What could possibly be bigger than a new mainline Mario?
It's a mainline Mario game anon
2D isn't mainline. 2D is a 10$ indie steam game.
2D is mainline. 3D shatformers are just bad action adventure games and are to be ignored for a platformer series mainline consideration.
It's a platformer so it's mainline.
>3 weeks later
>23 million copies sold
Are you well?
15 mil sales by the end of 2023, I promise you
I can't believe my Switch games will suddenly stop being fun soon 🙁
The Mario movie was this year. It makes a lot of sense and they obviously want to reserve their big 3D title to sell the new system.
Odyssey came out years after the release of the Switch you gaylord. Now that I think about it, what DID the Switch launch with?
>years
only 7 months after the Switch release you sperg
Oh damn, for some reason I had 2015 in my head as the Switch's release date.
It's mainline mario. It's guaranteed to sell better than most AAA games. I think you misunderstand how popular Nintendo is.
I preordered Super Mario Wonder and I'm excited to play it, but you have to be a gigantig moron with brainrot if you expect anything new from a series that's essentially the same game with few improvements since 1985.
>I preordered a game that I’m too stupid to have observed anything about
Sad admission of mental deficiency
Metroid Prime Remsstered
Tears Of The Kingdom
Super Mario Wonder
How did the Switch get 3 exclusive GOTY contenders in its 7th year of the market? This is just crazy.
The Nintendo Switch will go down in history as one of the best video game systems of all time.
>forgetting Pikmin 4
frick u
>Pikmin 4
>other slop
How did the Switch get 1 exclusive GOTY contender in its 7th year of the market? This is just crazy.
I haven't really paid attention to Mario as a whole in a long time. When did the series become so sterile looking? Everything looks lifeless and like it's made of plastic. There's no depth or fluidity to anything from the art to the animations.
You’re looking at the boxart, anon
>a new standard
A BIG one.
What happens when Yoshi eats the elephant fruit?
Yoshi and nabbit cant use powerups
Boring.
So don't use the cheat characters if you dont want the game to be boring
Why would they make the characters specifically added for fun, less fun?
The characters were added so your 3 year old child can play multiplayer with you and not be thrown into a fit of rage
I know. So why can't my 3 year old play as Yoshi and use powerups? Imagine trying to explain to a screaming toddler why he can't turn into an elephant
Tell him he has to git gud if he wants to be an elephant
>my toddler screams at the slightest thing
Raise your children better
You start autistically screaming as well like the tendie manchild you are
They’re specifically added for children, and children should be incentivized to git gud
Nintendo is moronic, that is why. See also Kirby series and only allowing a single player play as Kirby and enjoy the Kirby gimmick.
When did this change? I haven't played a co-op Kirby since Dreamland 3 and Gooey had all of Kirby's abilities.
I think it was return to dreamland. They kept the same coop design decision for Star Allies and Forgotten Land.
So in the new games you get to play as Dedede and the gang here? I still prefer Gooey but that's kinda neat.
For a Kirby fan, that might be a neat addition, but for co-op play, it defeats the point of playing a Kirby game. Changing powers and using Kirby's abilities is the core appeal of the series.
I see the appeal of a co-op game where you are Kirby and all of his friends for the co-op mode. Doesn't mean Gooey/other Kirby's shouldn't be an option too.
You can play as other colored Kirbies in multiplayer. You’re not locked to Kirby’s friend. Only in Forgotten Land is the second player locked to a singular play style
It's only Star Allies and Forgotten Lands.
In Star Allies a co-op partner plays as an enemy with the specific ability like Super Star. In Forgotten Lands, the 2nd player can only play Bandana Dee, probably since the game was fully designed as singleplayer, so co-op is more of an afterthought.
Still, i enjoy forgotten lands co-op more over star allies since the game is just more fun in general
You can play as multiple Kirbies in RtDL and its remake if you want, MK/DDD/Hat goomba are optional. It's Forgotten Land that forces hat goomba as player 2 and that does suck.
Star Allies had a system similar to Super Star which was also fine, play as the enemies, swap a lot.
Who is player 2 stuck as in Forgotten Land? I actually wanted to grab this game for co-op, so not being 2 kirby's is kind of a let down.
Bandanna Dee, I believe
Hat Goomba
Bandana Waddle Dee with his spear. No copy abilities, but you have the biggest move set in the game attack wise and can team up with Kirby to make certain mouthful modes stronger
I've been player 2, he's helpful but fricking boring.
I’ve been player 2 as well but I like playing him. I’ve always preferred weapon abilities to elemental ones so being locked to one wasn’t a big deal to me. Would’ve liked the option to play as him in single player or given a speed run mode
I'd prefer if the next game came out and he didn't show up and he was never mentioned in the series again.
It’s just Bandana Dee anon. He’s probably gonna show up again anyways so you should learn how to calm that anger down
I haven't been angry in years, kind of like when you just get used to having a scar but I still wish I didn't have the scar you know?
>Yoshi's is known for eating fruit
>Can't eat fruit
Why.
He can eat it. He just doesn’t transform
So what's the point of eating it?
He was hungry 🙂
the sea will hate him and he wont be able to swim anymore
of mediocrity
meh. I pirated it and got bored after 15 minutes.
It shouldn't do any such thing.
It should still just be NSMB but with different graphics for morons wh ocan't comprehend that graphics don't matter. If it's anything else it's likely dogshit.
>it’s just NSMB besides looking different! Well, it better be…
>it looks just like NSMB
Ganker has the dumbest posters on the planet
the physics and the movement look exactly just like NSMB, please never ever quote me with your stupid ass gotcha!
>the physics and the movement look exactly just like NSMB
Wrong.
We’ve already seen options not in NSMB like throwing things up or stomping on enemies in the water. Not to mention the badges. So you thinking physics look the same doesn’t mean much
It would need a more drastic visual change than angling Mario a bit different to separate itself from the NSMB series.
They should have gunned for a new artstyle, probably an expressionistic one to mach the trippy vibe of the main gimmick.
>They should have gunned for a new artstyle
They did.
>still looks like plastic
That doesn't mean the art style hasn't changed.
>no real criticism
>”p-plastic!”
Every time
10 years ago New super mario bros felt like it was made for a new era full of morons
Now i feel like we are entering yet another era were games are pandering to even bigger and younger morons. Shame, 64 and mario sunshine set the bar extremely high
How did sunshine set the bar high?
>Sunshine
More like Rushed and Janky Mario 64 follow-up that was padded to hell and back.
>more drastic visual change
Such as?
Are you both too moronic for words?
AS SAID Angling Mario differently and animating him more isn't a different artstyle. Expressionism is an artstyle, like you should have learned that in fricking highschool.
There's no way Mario would work with something like this. It'd look faker than Kirby Rainbow Curse
Is this like a cheeky joke?
That looks like shit and was only every praised because people were so tired of looking at NSMB
>There's no way Mario would work with something like this
He doesn't know...
>one level
>still looks like a cheap imitation
You sure showed me
>No doesn't count the rest on the internet just has shit taste
>please Nintendo give me my generic NSMB plastic slop now with new animations and Mario is angled towards the player by 10°.
>”the rest of the internet just has poor taste”
>whines about Wonder’s artstyle that everyone loves
Hmmm. And sorry, expressionism looks like shit combined with parallax scrolling. That’s simple fact
They changed the entire model and texture work you massive fricking moron. Are you going to say changing Marios sprite from 3 to world is just the same thing?
I would call the jump from 3 to world a leap not a slight ajustment.
>Are you going to say changing Marios sprite from 3 to world is just the same thing
Yes.
It was more colors, so yes.
Though different anon as I think this
is fine
That is exactly all it should be no matter what movieshit or other trash you want of it.
NSMB is core platformer. If you like SMB then you like NSMB because that's what a platformer should be.
I don't care that you want eggless scrambled eggs because muh change for the sake of change and thanks to you being an ADHD riddled moron.
If it's not just regraphiced NSMB (even though it didn't need to be - NSMB was still selling just fine) then it's likely bad.
Only people who don't like it want something else. This is just a fact and it applies to every game you see whining about the basics like turn based in RPGs.
You make a new series or sub series if you want to change core aspects, you don't shit all over everyone who likes what you already do. that's moronic.
it looks like NSMB so it's going to be garbage
it looks like NSMB so it's going to be good but ironically everything but new
Why did forced soul posting stop? It was genuinely funny.
It was literally just saying the phrase over and over. Look, you said it! Enjoy your jingling keys
YWNBAE
>a new standard in zoomer fetishes
yes. for example,
nintendo having a senile old dimentia moment of forgetting that they already made a game that allows everyone to make and share their own 2D mario games.
Too bad Mario Maker 2 did not meet Nintendo's expectations and they canceled the dlc for it, then abondoned the game after two major updates. These kind of games scream for support for years.
They would have never made Wonder if they kept supporting 2. Teams want to move on and work on new games rather than make DLC for existing ones. Also even though 2 received less updates overall than the first game, the updates were more substantial.
>Too bad Mario Maker 2 did not meet Nintendo's expectations and they canceled the dlc for it, then abondoned the game after two major updates. These kind of games scream for support for years.
That's because despite MM2 getting support and NSMBU Deluxe not. NSMBDU Deluxe was routinely outperforming Mario Maker 2 to the point it wasn't even funny.
Although it's a fun game and both games were multi-million sellers, they're kind of a failure in that they were both less popular than regular 2D Mario and also required a lot more upkeep and post-launch support.
They had mined most of the potential from Mario Maker anyway. The fact they made half baked shit like the 3D World theme is a demonstration that they were stretching and were better off waiting for a new 2D Mario to breathe life into the franchise before making another game/adding another “style”
I'm going to play it and enjoy it
I was quite optimistic when I saw that they had finally put some effort into the art, but that direct took all my optimism away.
I can no longer tolerate Nintendo's level design, it's all too methodical and bureaucratic. When the guys said, for example, that they decided that every level should have a crazy part, that's just another example of how Nintendo only works on the basis of autism that tries to organize everything into a method. Even when the idea is to create crazy things that break the rules, Nintendo creates a rule for this (now all levels have a "dark" side and this will become a normal thing rather than something that breaks the player's expectations here and there).
The level design also seems to follow exactly the same philosophy as New Mario Bros, bland levels to support 4 simultaneous players, who keep varying the same theme.
After playing hundreds of Romhacks and Mario Maker levels, it's hard to accept Nintendo's "corporate" level design.
The thing that breaks the expectation is how it will change, not that a level will change. You’re a genuine idiot.
You probably don't have much experience with Nintendo games. What will basically happen is that you'll enter each level already knowing that it has a gimmick. You'll see an item or pipe out of place, and you'll realize: "oh, I don't need to worry about that now, because there'll be a gimmick that will make it reachable". It's predictable and boring because Nintendo considers it "good level design".
The "wonder" part should be a surprise, not just another cog in a methodical level design.
I wouldn't mind, though, if after you finished the game or something, 100% of the levels now had an insane variation or some shit.
I hope that's the case, because multiplayer is the main problem with the level design of New Mario Bros.
That was clearly a way of breaking up the monotony that New Mario Bros had become. Basically: "hey, look, it looks the same as NMB, that boring game you've had enough of, right? Well look at this..." and the game suddenly gets all creative with unique gimmicks in each level...
...until Nintendo let itself be overcome by its autism and decided that no, now it's just another one of the methodical level design rules that they always use. I hope that at least each level has a unique variation of madness (which I highly doubt).
You’re completely moronic, there’s nothing conspicuous about the triceratops that stampede and destroy the flagpole if you get the wonder flower. If you ignored it, it would end exactly like any normal level. Quit making shit up to conform to your autistically skewed perceptions of reality
Time will tell who was right. I'm 90% sure it's me. Remember that when you finish the game.
>my autism based on nothing will be correct!
No one remembers you the moment they’re done conversing with you
You don’t know what you’re talking about do you
> I hope that at least each level has a unique variation of madness (which I highly doubt).
Yeah, sadly they already gave up. If you look at the demo footage objectively so far there's been two levels where the wonder effect is just "enemies rushing across stage. The thwomp thing counts as the same category. Prepare for it to happen with literally every "new" enemy.
>games have iterative formulas
It's so fricking over, bros...
>riding a stampede = breaking blocks below you to avoid being crushed
And you jump in all the levels too! Shaking my dang head tbh
The gameplay is different but if every wonder effect ends up being some fariation on "new enemy is attacking you!" then shit will get really, really stale.
We’ve seen 3 enemy “attacks” and a plethora of transformations, moving obstacles and perspective shifts
>The level design also seems to follow exactly the same philosophy as New Mario Bros, bland levels to support 4 simultaneous players
No? The players don't collide with one another in Wonder. Compare the levels directly and you'll see Wonders are much more concentrated.
>I can no longer tolerate Nintendo's level design, it's all too methodical and bureaucratic. When the guys said, for example, that they decided that every level should have a crazy part, that's just another example of how Nintendo only works on the basis of autism that tries to organize everything into a method. Even when the idea is to create crazy things that break the rules,
You moron, their aim was to re-invent the secrets in Super Mario Bros. The wonder seed parts of the levels are actually optional, barring some level unlocks and 100%-ing the game.
/thread
It's really incredible how soulless everything looks when it's made by a corporation. Once you enter the fangame/romhack rabbithole you can only yawn when playing official releases.
Not like it will matter anyway. Only a few more days before the NSP is leaked, at least it'll be a fun game to play with my family and friends. Fangames are usually lacking in that department, if we ignore the Newer Super Mario bros series.
Absolutely no-one but Nintendo manchildren and some literal children will care about this game. Everyone else who's not emotionally attached to Nintendo and not 6 years old will just see it as a standard 7/10 Mario/Nintendo affair for kids, which it is and will be.
Tendie Derangement Syndrome
I haven't played a Mario game since Sunshine. I literally just do not care despite owning a Switch. Luigis Mansion 3 is great though.
>I don't like good games, but I do like the shittiest spin off series
Actually awful taste.
They should bring super mario bros U down in price with this release!
>Nintendo
>down in price
I'm excited for it, but I tried to go back and play New Super Mario U Deluxe, and goddamn I forgot what a boring game it was, not to mention Mario feels like he's running in concrete boots. Hoping Wonder is much much better.
also, the acorn powerup is the worst in the entire series by far.
>also, the acorn powerup is the worst in the entire series by far.
The Propeller Mushroom is worse. It's so slow and boring.
Mario U should, by all accounts, be an excellent game
But you're absolutely right, it's terribly boring. It felt like a chore to 100% the game, whereas whenever I replay Mario 64 or Mario World, I quite enjoy getting every single star or goal. I think a big one is the game is WAY too reliant on "wait and go" kind of obstacles, other Mario games definitely have those but generally they want you to keep moving forward. Mario U it feels like every other stage.
Luigi U is pretty sweet though
I quit playing it two separate times. Still haven’t finished it. Completely competent but incredibly dull
Pre ordered.
Only cost me 10 bucks.
The seething from cape shitters and snoy cucks on the 20th will be something else when Wonder makes Spiderman 2 irrelevant.
Spider-Man is gonna smoke Mario, you'll see.
Spider-Man has been getting dominated by Wonder in pre-orders for nearly 3 months
Heh, it's not too late for Spidey's comeback.
No it wont, its going to be good but not amazing, nothing they have shown us indicates the potential of a 10/10.
If they maintain the level of inventiveness throughout the whole game, it could set a new bar for level variety thanks to wonder flowers
Knowing the game industry? watch they copy everything wrong about this game, while completely ignoring the good parts, and then somehow making the copied shit even worse.
its different but not TOO different, it feels like this was what they should have released back when they were pumping out nsmb games.
I feel the hype to Wonder is artificial. I'm in the wait and see camp. I pre-ordered the game because I like 2D Mario doing something different. But I don't think it will be the best game ever.
>the hype is artificial! I’m in the wait and see camp!
>I preordered btw 🙂
I’d say bait, but it’s actually believable stupidity for this place
If the game bombs in sales and printing stops then I can scalp collectors in 10 years.
pre-order it now
The game looks dull and cynical.
Nintendo will never recreate the leap they made from SMB3 to World.
They don't seem capable of doing anything interesting any more.
I'm perfectly content with excellent execution of existing gameplay ideas, but the thing is those already exist. How exactly do you one-up that? I've been playing a bunch of Mario Kart and Splatoon 3 lately, and frick me I can't even imagine how you'd begin to try and top them.
>excellent execution of existing gameplay ideas
It doesn't give me this impression at all. This is the same tired, 30+ year old execution with a new coat of paint. The ideas are old hat and not remotely interesting.
> I can't even imagine how you'd begin to try and top them.
Bewilderment over the obvious solution to at this point, serial shortcomings in a franchise only shows a lack of standards. The single player components remain incredibly weak in Splatoon and the multiplayer still lacks basic features we had in original xbox multiplayer games.
What are we doing accepting mediocrity because it's Nintendo? That's awful.
Cause the
he vidcon's are fun
Quit making vapid empty criticisms and actually suggest what is wrong and what could be done to change it, dumbass
Splatoon single player would be far better if the levels weren't floating platforms but instead took place in urban inspired environments the multiplayer levels are inspired by. They've been shipping grey box levels in 3 games and the fans lack the standards to vocalize this failure thats been known since the first game.
>floating platforms autist
OE and RotM take advantage of the floating platforms to facilitate designs that wouldn’t make sense in a realistic environment. Throwing them into the world wouldn’t be an instant improvement. It would require a different type of campaign altogether. And I meant about Mario, you fricking idiot. No one wants to argue your autistic Splatoon obsession in this thread
>floating platforms to facilitate designs that wouldn’t make sense in a realistic environment
This is your limitation, it can easily be done. Even then, we've had 3 games of grey box levels while multiplayer levels show the potential of actual fun level design. Splatoon seems to want to have a story that takes place in an actual world but does none of the commitment games have been doing since the 80s. It's lazy and a flaw.
When you fail to come up with a way for bodacious rotation station to be smoothly integrated into realistic environments, maybe then you can start talking about Mario. Or kys. Both would improve discussion, but the latter more so
Oh that's like a ratchet and clank level, yeah they had no problem integrating into their level designs on the PS2, so that would be no problem. It's a game about squid kids in an urban environment, why not have the game take place in an urban environment.
>death threats over a video game
yep, I'm talking to a nintendo fan alright.
>Um, it’s just like a level in another game. No I won’t name the level, nor will I describe what real world structure they used to integrated the design
>”kys” is a death threat
lol, you can just say “I concede” next time
Yeah rotating platforms aren't anything new for video games, let alone Nintendo games. They don't have to use a real structure, but how about a ride at an amusement park? Something Nintendo has no issue with being inspired by.
Do you actually play games or do you only get violently angry over Switch games being lightly critiqued?
>INTEGRATE THEM INTO THE REAL WORLD INSTEAD OF ABSTRACT VOIDS, IT’S EASY
>see example: Psychonauts
lmao
I wonder if there is a dump of this game anywhere so that we could get it early on YUZU just like Zelda TOTK did.
This and Sonic Super Stars are what im looking forward too.
Just like the good old days, it will be mogged by it's Sonic competitor's massively superior gameplay but remain more popular because it has a lower entry barrier and solely on its brand
a new standard of what, all the characters play the exact same way
Just fifteen more days. The wait's driving me crazy, man.
