Agreed, the overworld looks gorgeous, but is letdown by the usual openworld design. If instead those levels were instead more like the underground levels, as in tight with FROM's usual level design then we would've been in for a treat.

The game's pretty good, but there are some small gripes. The difficulty level jumps around quite a bit - some bosses are a cakewalk, while others are crazy tough. The in-game writing is very bland, with subtitles occasionally out of sync. It's a cool game, but don't expect it to be a full-on Bloodborne clone or anything.
The writing feels dry but the characters and the story is actually pretty decent for a soulslike. They integrated the lying gimmick pretty well and actually tied it to the ending in a cool way that plays on your expectations with the original story.
If you like this game but hated Dark Souls 2, you're a hypocrite.
