It's impressive how stupid the megaten fandom is. I've played this one because it's leaving gamepass, and it's actually pretty good. The battle system is simple, but good, also, there isn't a division between ma(kaja/kunda), like the old smts. The artstyle isn't some generic anime shit like the """"fans""""" say, Soul Hackers 1 literally is an anime artstyle. And the hangouts events aren't really annoying or just persona, after all, Devil Survivor has social links and nobody cares. The biggest problem of this game is the Axis dungeons, which are pretty generic. So, what's your opinion about Soul Hackers 2? I'm currently on act 5.
Nothing Ever Happens Shirt $21.68 |
I think it's better than SMTIV but worse than Nocturne and SMTV. Similar to Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Strange Journey.
I thought the same thing, the sabbath system is pretty similar to Strange Journey battle system. But why is it similar to Tokyo Mirage?
Absolute shit take.
Anyone who thinks 3 is better than 4, is a low IQ autist who enjoys bare bones repetition because you've never had a real job.
Yes, it's a great game for anyone who likes old-school RPGs. I assume most posters shitposting about the game did not play it and were simply trolling, this is usually the case.
But why they would do this? When the first trailer released, everyone got mad, including me. This hate was weird as frick, literally everyone got mad for no reason.
>But why they would do this? When the first trailer released, everyone got mad, including me. This hate was weird as frick, literally everyone got mad for no reason.
Because people wanted a game that actually resembled Soul Hackers maybe? The game completely bombed in Japan for this reason, meanwhile they actually adore the original
I don't know, it is pretty funny however. I didn't know Soul Hackers 1 was popular anywhere until Soul Hackers 2 came out lol
>Ringoschizo
This guys a nutcase, don't give him the time of your day.
But Ringo is a good character.
>very simplified or dumbed down from SMT/Persona.
Maybe it's because it is a SMT for newbies, which isn't bad if done right.
newbies have no problem with Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5, so I don't know why Soul Hackers 2 was necessary.
Compared to persona, soul hackers 2 is way harder and the buff system gives a better notion about how useful they are
I enjoy Atlus' style of JRPGs in general, so I had a fun time with the game, but a lot of things in the game are very simplified or dumbed down from SMT/Persona.
Games that people shit on like TMS and SH2 for whatever reason end up being more difficult than Persona games when the chips are down.
>It's impressive how stupid the megaten fandom is.
This right there is the reason why people should ignore you. Why the frick would you insult the entire fanbase, and then ask our opinion about the said game?
Soul Hackers 2 was so bad that it made TMS look good in my eyes. It has absolutely nothing in common in previous game or SMT series in general.
>it made TMS look good in my eyes
B-but TMS was actually good...
Yeah, and Tarzan was real and came from Brooklyn.
>The art style isn't some generic anime shit like the """"fans""""" say, Soul Hackers 1 literally is an anime art style
This is also rich coming from OP, just compare SH1's Zoma with the """""""Zoma""""""" character from SH2 and you'll know exactly what's wrong with the style of the entire game, everything is boring as frick while SH1 actually has batshit insane designs and concepts
You have a good point, but SH2 doesn't exactly has a bad design/artstyle, it's just worse than SH1
>artstyle isn't some generic anime shit like the """"fans""""" say, Soul Hackers 1 literally is an anime artstyle
your shitty bait hooked me until there, no idea why the other morons fell for it though
>what's your opinion about Soul Hackers 2?
I think it's one of the worst Atlus game in the last 20 years or so. Like 90% of the game is filler, endless fetch quests and the same 3 copypasted dungeon tilesets. The story is find 5 things to stop the end of the world. For frick's sake, Compile Heart slop (Death end re;Quest, Mary Skelter etc) has more substance and less padding. Have they no shame, how was this priced at $60 + season pass.
The protagonist is basically the only good thing in this game. Everything else is extremely low effort.
The party members themselves are fine, the problem is how they're utilized
Crow gets a rival character who dies immediately after being introduced then it gets repeated beat-for-beat with a different character
Milady's motivation is literally just, kill the bad guy, so there's barely room for character development
Saizo and his gf had the most fleshed out arc but it's kind of orthogonal to the main plot, so while it's nice it also doesn't feel particularly meaningful
And finally Ringo's thing about being born from the collective zeitgeist of humanity...never comes up ever. Like, why not just make her a space alien or a literal fairy then
>Crow
Arrow*
Don't ask (Me) wtf I'm smoking
I would've given this game a shot if it at least allowed you summon and fight alongside demons at will instead of whatever Persona shit they got going on in battles. That was the ONE expectation I had of this game and they fricked it up.
oh wow cool thread. anyways as a fan of the first game, is this one worth the 50hrs or should i skip 😕
Skip
thanks for the answers. ill probably skip it since i dont really get much free time anymore and would rather play something i wont forget, as opposed to just having fun. i heard monaca made the music so maybe ill play it in a few years or something
The music was surprisingly mediocre but they did do a cool arrange album for the game's release that sounds awesome.

It only does not build off of the gameplay of the first game but it also has one of the most embarrassing takes on established Devil Summoner lore, it feels like someone skimmed threw a wiki and did the bare minimum to establish it as being technically related to Devil Summoner.
You should give a shot, isn't a masterpiece, but is a fun game.
One of the good things about the game is tat it isn't 50 hours. Its quite short compared to persona games.
I didn't play it yet.
I heard about it a little bit later so I missed the trailer and only saw screenshots, since I only saw it later, I was around to see it would have Denuvo so that's where my interest waned.
Sega know by now that I don't buy their games if they have denuvo.
They could sell ATLUS off to someone who didn't pack denuvo into every release and I'd be pretty happy even if I needed to wait 17 years for SMT VI developed by Kaneko's spirit.
>Devil Survivor has social links and nobody cares
only the second game and everyone shits on it
The first one also has, but it doesn't have a complex system or something like that, is just some extra.
>The first one also has
no it doesn't you Black person
he's counting the npc dialogue with Carol J on the overworld and the monkey sidequest as social links
No one played it bro
Call me when Segay stops sucking so much denuvo wiener and we'll talk
It was pretty decent. Probably like a 6/10. Combat was good, I liked the COMP system, the story was decent, although you pretty much knew what would happen and the last boss could have been way better. The only downside was how generic dungeons were compared to something like palaces from P5, or the different open world zones of SMT 5. Game could have been better, but it also could have been way worse.
The problem is not the combat(IS better than soul hacker 1,P1,IS,EP and 4) , the character nor the story'.
The problem is that the Dungeon was boring as hell and like Memento in P5, they miss the point about how people endure Tartarus or even P1 three Dungeon in SQ route
All SMT games are satanic bullshit for trannies.
Couldn't get past the Minotaur huh
>Couldn't get past [piss easy JRPG for 14 year olds]
?
Yeah its fine
But it should have been $35, had no DLC, and should had NOT been called soul hackers 2
It should have been called Devil Summoner 3 or Debisama with some subtitle
But Atlus fanbase believe that Debisama is mostly about Raidou and SH about 'futuristic' shit.
The combat is tedious. Should've been Press Turn. The level design is also total garbage.
I didn't really like the game but I do like Ringo.
>The artstyle isn't some generic anime shit
Then what the frick am I looking at, OP?
Yeah OP is a homosexual here, it's called Soul Hackers 2 but they took the fricking soul out...
