The new enemies replace previously reused enemy types in some areas. npc quests and ending quests got reworked for more clear tracking. On-screen compass became an item feature. Vitality can be upgraded by stats or by armor to withstand up to 10 hits from bosses.

Armor should just buff the % absorption to 40-50% max without buffs

The real answer to how to save the DLC is copy DS3 but in 1 expansion instead of 2: revamp pvp (did it already, just fix matchmaking because holy shit is it bad), make sure the core bosses are unique, make sure the music is on point (people shit on kitamura but Gael’s theme is still the best in the franchise), and fricking add a rematch mode for bosses - there’s already an in-universe explanation through remembrances, just let us fight bosses again without having to save state, mod, or play 150 hours to get to them.
