I'm not even surprised by that. A majority of FOTM games are decent but they are definitely on the crest of the wave. After it dies out and you have every content creator hop off of it their hoards of teenage fans hop off and go to the next thing. While the people who actually enjoyed the game stick and the dev keeps working on it for the core. FOTM is definitely the double-edged blade
this game was like $15 so i tried it out. amusing for a little while but gets annoying quick. i imagine now everyone playing knows every inch of every map and has every upgrade so its even worse

i finally played it with my friends this weekend and idk if its just not for me but i was pretty bored the entire time. both of them knew so much about the game already and when i asked how they said they watched a lot of streamers play it. is this game just a streamer content farm with artificial hype behind it or do normal people actually find it fun?
It all depends on who you're playing with. People that know what's happening can still make it fun by getting caught off guard, failing a jump, being overconfident, etc. If you have people that play it very sterile, it'll get tiring after a while. Additionally, if you have friends that just try and undermine the entire run, you'll get a few jokes but won't go anywhere. There's gotta be a nice balance struck.
also do people legit find this game scary. i was never one to get scared by horror games or movies but my friends were shouting and screaming at every monster sighting. i dont want to be a hater but i really feel like they were just trying to live out their favorite streamer moments or smth
I played with my friends for like 3 days and it was fun. After that it just gets boring, they always wanna play but its stale as frick now
it's basically only worth playing blind with friends who are also blind and everything in the game is a surprise, which leads to a lot of organic horror-comedy moments. Metagaming the quotas is extremely tedious and unfun and by the time you know everything the game has to offer it's worn out its welcome.
Horror games are literally the worst games to metagame. Do not look at wikis do not watch tutorials just fricking play it

Everytime my norm friends IRL buy these sorts of games and get really into them (LC included) even if I buy it too they stop playing it in like 2 months and move on.

holy shit it feels so good to be able to counter the monsters, most things will die with one blast if you get close enough and as long as you kill every nutcracker you come across ammo isn't an issue
this game is fun for about 4 hours, and only if none of your friend group or you has seen any footage of it. discovering the new monsters is about the only exciting thing, and once you are past that then any attempts to play the game is a slightly more "optimal" way are stupidly boring and tedious, and then eventually you get a profit quota that is legitimately impossible to fulfill. very good game for a one person dev team, but unless you are a streamer or influencer, you won't be getting much time out of it.
Basically what I felt, it didn't seem like there's a long term point to playing the game.

Yes it's just a FOTM but it's fun enough to throw $10 at for a stupid enjoyable weekend or two with friends. I have almost 50 hours in it and don't expect to touch it again once 2024 rolls around.
if you don't want to play games made by furries then you basically have to avoid anything made by a major studio and most indie games. get a dozen programmers in a room and at least one of them is going to be a furgay

I’ve had a lot of fun with it, played it with multiple friend groups but I’m starting to get a little burnt out. Also sucks that you have to grind as much as you do to get to the really fun planets. It’s mitigated when you have the bigger party mod because having 8 people run around guarantees that you’ll always get more loot but that doesn’t stop the standard 4 man from getting a little boring

It looks like a funny game but I get my enjoyment from watching some clips of clueless players and thats enough for me. If you're looking for a simple game with a funny scare then go for it. Since its only one dev and its at a fixed value it probably wont get updated much/frequently and may stop after a point. So, if you think an hour or couple more is worth 10 bucks, go for it.
