Since this thread has no real purpose, full breakdown of the kind of person who plays each MK character in my experience >Ninjas
The general pick for anyone. Teenagers favored Scorpion, kids favored Sub-Zero, but these had no defined subset of people, anyone from the most casual player to the dude who was always at the local arcade played these two >Liu Kang
projecting asians, and dads who knew nothing about video games and picked him because he was the closet thing to Jackie Chan ever played Liu Kang >Kano
The fattest sweatiest chain-smoking try hard motherfrickers would always pick Kano, do the stupid ball attack endlessly and hoard the cab asking who wanted to try to them next eventually they eventually got beat, made up an excuse, and then waddled out of the arcade til next week. >Johnny Cage
Another favorite dad pick. He was the pick for a lot of older dudes who were there with family and loved to spam nut punches because they found it hilarious >Raiden
Proto Kano players. No where near as fat and smelly, much more personable, would ease up and let players who were obviously new beat them for a round or two so they could play longer. Still homosexuals who would spam the lunge 24/7 >Sonya
The 100% go to pick of someone's girlfriend who got dragged along there, and the guys who were good and thought it was funny to win with her and would mock you for losing to a girl character. No one else played her ever.
I was the kid who wasn't very good and didn't have much money, who only played the odd game at the arcade or on his friends snes. I would put a dollar in the machine, which only got you one game in Australia, and try to get through a couple of cpu opponents to get my money's worth when some butthole would mosey on up, stick his coin in the machine, give me a prompt and thorough whooping and leave me walking off feeling shamed and cheated. Who did I play as?
In Brazil I could only afford renting games for my NES clone at the time. First time I saw MK being played on SNES in a game store made me instantly forget all the NES games I've played. Then one year later I was lucky enough to afford a SNES with a pirated MK2.
>That fat frick with the Pantera T shirt on always picks Kano..

The only 3d MK, because of how fast it is. Every next installment had you wait for so long between pushing a button and actually making a punch, so fricking annoying. Not to mention the garbage characters redesigns the modern games have and all the crappy new characters.
the jax ending and a few of the other cutscenes have gotten a lot of so bad it's good attention on youtube, that's probably the most acknowledgement it's ever going to get.
For me, it's...
Post the clayfighter parodies.
>clayfighter
Go away kid
This is the best MK game of the series. Played the shit out of it on Megadrive

I prefer UMK3

Older dudes were usually cool back then when I played arcade games. They would usually try and teach special moves and shit
Trying too hard to replicate that moronic Mario Kart image

MORTAL KOMBAT!
I prefer "Kombat begins"
The game that made Street Fighter look like silly cartoon
>Super Nintendo
pffffffffff
They really should make a mythologies remake using the actual MK engine.
You should really just kys
Mortal Kombat isn't a good game series, hot take.
It's an alright franchise but as a game series the output has been mostly duds.
the first 3 were great trashy arcade games, the 3d stuff on console was lame yes.
fricking quarter muncher
the first one atleast
endurance matches? more like a hardfricking
>the first one atleast
I honestly think MKII is the worst with its bullshit difficulty.
This. I can beat Mortal Kombat 1 easily enough, 3 with a bit of difficulty, but 2 is downright brutal regardless of who I pick.
But UMK3 also gives me trouble, Jade is fricking impossible to beat.
Get good holy shit. The AI is easy to manipulate and abuse.
I've beaten MKII multiple times, homosexual. It doesn't change the fact that it's one of the most difficult games in the series.
Never forget Jax was the fattest kid in school
will Mortal Kombat 4 ever be re-acknowledged? It feels like the most forgotten mainline entry in the whole series, besides vs DC.
The closest they get is working weapons back in sometimes.
I like it, it's like a self parody but not funny
it's easily the worst MK game out of the ones before they rebooted the series with 9
No 3D MK game is good.
deadly alliance and deception are both great
Lol no. Fricking trash.

Into the trash it goes.
