It's legit the hardest game I have ever played. But I finished it!
Did you? Or did you get filtered?

I really wanted to try this game but I don't want to support anti-christian devs
I got some bad news for you if you think this game set a high bar for difficulty.
Most deaths are caused by clunky platforming rather than hard enemies or bosses.
This
The game feels like ass to play. I dropped it because i realized i could be playing a better game instead.
So just like NES Castlevania?
Not even that, repeatedly getting stuck under the floor getting off elevators killed it for me.
You haven't played many games then.
Blasphemous is gorgeous, the music is great and the worldbuilding is on par with FromSoft games. But gameplay was it was middling. The platforming was a bit annoying at launch, but it got fixed, and the combat was pretty straightforward, exactly what you'd expect from a metroidvania. Not really that difficult in general, and there were some cheesy starts to make it even easier, in case you wanted to get over with some of the more annoying bosses (like the baby and the wicker man) quickly.
Would love to see blasphemous art direction in a 3d enviroment.
Its called church, just go inside any irl catholic church.
>metroid vania game
>insta death when plataforming
I dropped that shit game in mere seconds. Art is good btw.
>game conditions you to use ledge grab when jumping between platforms
>starts putting death spikes at the same elevation as the platforms
Frick you game.
I finished it using every penance but I didn't touch the boss rush.
God is bad!
Why? It just is okay!
He is not, he created the miracle that set the protag on a crusade to fill his blood chalice and put it on his head.
>He is not, he created the miracle
Play the new content, this is not correct at all.
The High Wills ARE The Miracle and they just did it to lord over people and stroke their ego. They're not God at all, they're just some shitty gods that torture people who don't stroke their ego constantly.
Well, the ego part was already established in the first DLC. But the merge is concerning and can actually be interpreted as a retcon, if you ask me.
Base game talked about their ego too. It's definitely a retcon though, they were implying they were two separate things since the baby says the High Wills created it.
Yeah, I remember that. The baby dialogue did imply quite strongly that those were two separate entities. And that they might be at odds with each other.
WTF
I need to finish the DLC to participate in this discussion.
Because every great civilisation wants to emancipate from god. And you're on the same level as those manchildren that never leave there parent's home if you don't think otherwise.

I will not play your game
No!
but i will and have played many others 😉
it's ok
level design (not the art of levels) is meh and controls are floaty
Great attempt from debut studio though
>level design is meh and controls are floaty
Perfectly nailed my biggest problems with the game for me, hope the sequel has better controls at least.
>filtered
i didn't, but you did. unless you get 45/45 and finish NG+ with all penances.
Game is piss easy
Some hitboxes are kinda shit though. Like when you fight the dude with the big incense stick, he has a hitbox above his head when he spins but for no apparent reason.
The platforming is VERY very rigid though. It has many bugged platforms where you just clip through them unless you land on that SPECIFIC pixel where the platform actually is.
Lore and art is stellar though.
They've added coyote time to platforming, meaning, you don't have to jump early risking undershooting the next platform and falling to your death on spikes or in a bottomless pit.
But it's definitely an issue, albeit a much smaller one now. The art doesn't make it clear where the actual platform geometry starts and ends.
Thanks anon, will replay it then. The snow peaks level made me rage because of the crumbling platform geometry/art being incorrect. Is it normal that the bosses are so easy though? I beat almost every boss first try
Yeah, the game isn't particularly hard, especially if you utilize the miracles. Some bosses have gimmicks that can catch you off-guard on your first try though.
If you've played on launch they've released three content updates since then. Two story related ones, and one a crossover with Bloodstained. The true ending might require some spoiler-free guidance, if you don't want to replay the game yet another time. Although you still need to do 3 NG+ playthroughs for all the penance modifiers and their respective rosary beads.
I got bored tbh. When is Salt & Sacrifice coming to Steam already?
Lol play more games,
I finished this in a couple of afternoons
>It's legit the hardest game I have ever played
Zoomer-kun...
Yup, great game. I absolutely loved the theme of it and exploring the world was great.
I did feel like it was exceedingly cryptic at times which meant I missed a bunch of content because I was playing through it blind.
The controls were also a little clunky, unfortunately, but still serviceable.
>the eldritch entity behind everything was actually just created by a bunch of old guys who wanted to rule the world
SOILED IT

Firebal attack final boss has filtered me, i was so fricking done
Also almoust fropped on giant baby fight, its so clumsy and random its insane
>Firebal attack final boss
You just don't run away from it continuously, but make small steps after each fireball, since they don't track. This way you don't run out of space to reposition.
Or you can just abuse the invincibility miracle.
i don't buy games costing more than 3 euros(on sale)
just 8
time to play Noita friend
The input queuing in this game is atrocious. Picture this scenario, you're mashing the attack button, swinging your sword at the enemy and then the enemy moves just out of reach. So you start pressing the directional pad so you can catch up to them, but instead it just keeps swinging your sword from the input queue. You don't realize this because you assume you've already moved in the desired direction and so you mash the attack button swinging at nothing, desperately press the direction pad again to move towards the enemy, rinse and repeat.
It's a decent game but holy frick whoever made the combat controls should be fired
skill issue
Loved this game. My favourite metroidvania to date.
great game, shame some of the copycats in the last next fest don't understand what made it great
