BUT THEY CALLED IT A REPAIR KITS. ITS TOTALLY NOT A ESTRUS FLASK. >which is about the most moronic name ever since 'estrus' is the science term for animals going into heat or their breeding cycle.
they just need to fix the lock on, i want to see someone do that on a small enemy in a map with actual terrain, also the looting/hunting game mechanics and the bad menu-ing on parts makes customing a pain, and is very hard to see what part is better than other.
>choice is super falshy multicolored playpen mechs bing bing wahoo or metro tokyo washed out colors janitor gameplay of AC
why can't they just make a game which ttakes itself seriously and depicts an actual war, like that vietnam-esque gundam.
>why can't they just make a game which ttakes itself seriously and depicts an actual war, like that vietnam-esque gundam.
It's called mechwarrior/chromehounds/high-macs
>hit mech with rockets >they're invincible while they get up and it does minimal damage >hit mech with sword >they're invincible while they get up and it does minimal damage >hit mech with bullet >whoops, you forgot it's lategame and every enemy spams Blink several times a second
What a fricking yawnfest. Force enemy to ground and just spam twin machineguns for ten billion years. Repeat for the 20 last missions because anything that isn't another mech is a joke.
Some of the side missions were absolutely moronic >One side mission where you had to escort a car >Car is so fragile that one hit from anything will destroy it >This includes merely bumping into it >Mission starts you literally right behind the car so if you make the mistake of moving forward when the mission starts, you immediately fail it.
>Mission starts you literally right behind the car so if you make the mistake of moving forward when the mission starts, you immediately fail it.
is that a heckin King's Field reference
I enjoyed DxM, it's a very goofy anime Armored Core, like God Eater is to Monster Hunter. And best boy Savior. And zipping around at maximum speed was fun.
I think I enjoyed it? There were all sorts of cool features in DxM that I really liked but I literally can't remember anything about what happened in the story or what you do in the game.
I redownloaded the game and apparently I beat everything.
The story has real bad Bleach Syndrome where it just keeps layering new factions and characters on top of each other until everything just becomes incoherent.
I couldn't even remember the ending, I looked it up just now and I'm drawing a complete blank. But the game says I beat it and I remember the final arena and the pillar with the hypercube in it. I hope the sequel improves the story and presentation.
Hang on, I wrote down all the plot twists in this game because I kept laughing at how bad they were.
• The "innocent mercs" are all immortals being kept alive by a tower that they blow up later to teach themselves the magic of friendship.
• The gothic e-girlta pilots are both long dead, being kept alive by constant organ transplants and blow themselves up to earn the love of the guy who doesn't see it, to kill a guy who is immortal and lives through it.
• Every major faction of humanity dies offscreen. They inform you via text message.
• The humanity-genociding AIs are actually on humanity's side and genociding humanity to save humanity, while also dying to humanity to give humanity technology.
• The main villain's goal is to bring down the moon to kill the rest of earth, in order to save earth because he had a vision about space travel.
• You're a clone of the main villain that he made to kill himself so he could make the choice to kill himself to decide whether he could shoulder the responsibility of leading earth that he's about to kill.
• Your friendly AI is god.
• The "girl power" mercs are led by the Gun Empress who is secretly an AI that made itself, and betrayed humanity to find out what it means to be human.
• You become god and have the power to either choose to ascend humanity, in which case you die and nothing changes, or search for hope, in which case the other rookie waves at you as you leave, nothing changes, and the credits roll. Both endings are 5 seconds long.
I thought ascend released Femto all over the place with the implication that many who couldn't handle it died while those who could were ready for space travel and to move humanity forward
For that reason I'd say that a lot changed
But yeah the game had an absolute DOGSHIT plot
God I hope the 2nd at least makes an attempt to do better
Ehhh. Not really. AC6 is very much of "look at how much damage that attack took off a health bar" game as opposed to shit blowing up in a glorious festival of light and violence. There isn't even any mech gore or anything, and the environment is either static or made of tissue paper.
Gunfort has more soul than any AC6 boss I’ve fought (chapter 5). Gunfort Omega is also quite deadly. I want to fight ace pilots in AC6 and there’s only like 2-3. Most of the time you get reject gundam mobile armors that couldn’t beat a GM.
definitely for a lot of AC fights but the harder bosses and ACs will outmanuever you much better compared to DxM

I kinda hate how they out maneuver me though. It gets back into Elden Ring input reading territory. Particularly how they have a no startup assault boost kick that they love to do if you're even a millimeter off on a melee attempt. That's fricking bullshit.
I never took a clean screenshot of mine. The customization felt lacking enough to me that I never even bothered naming the thing until I beat the game.
don't have it installed atm but i just used all flamberge (i think) parts painted grey with white markings like a fighter jet
i'm not bery creative with these sorts of things
>ACgays spent years shitting on this game saying it wasn't as good as AC >AC6 comes out and ends up getting mogged by it
Daemon X Machina has a better soundtrack, no stagger bullshit, dual wielding melee, pilot customization and augmentation, and online co-op.
>pilots in AC are mummies with microchip memories
In the old games that was only if you went into debt. Even in AC6 there are plenty of flesh and blood people piloting ACs and especially MTs that aren't augmented. They just aren't shown because From is lazy.
I wish I got it on Steam instead of the Switch to be quite frank. I was just browsing Target right before the Kung Flu hit and it looked cool so I bought it on a whim. Didn't even know it was multi-platform.
Too much bad writing and it's loaded with dialogue. The pre and post mission dialogue ends up being longer than the actual mission. They also never shut up during the actual mission either.
Infinite flight is boring too.
All have human. The difference is how human in shitty anime has human take over the mecha spot light while AC is a giant showcase of mechas, bots, and other oddity. 9breaker, as shitty it is, didn't break that rule
>decided to give it a shot a few months back >weapons have zero impact >awful sound design >those "characters" >the shitty ui >the godawful missions >mfw
If DxM2 becomes more like AC then I think it's a fair trade. Two different interpretations of what a modern AC should have been like and you can have both.
Frankly not really, it has a small, rabid fanbase but it's probably the worst Xenoblade game, though the only one where you get to actually pilot mechs (not from the start however). The world is seriously great and that's it's main asset, but gameplay is just running around and slapping "probes" into the ground to gather resources passively in the background and the combat system isn't great (XB2 and 3 have major improvements in that area). If you think that sounds boring, it is. This is much more of a single-player MMO with the repetitive dull shit you must do, unlike the 1st game which is typically accused of that. Music ranges from REALLY shit to really good. It's a game with a lot of wasted potential and several frickups.
But there's no point in it, it's just cosmetic
If there were no point to it, you wouldn't be bothered by it. You're bothered by it because you have to give up something you clearly care about.
>And DxM is even less AC
Also true, I doubt anyone actually managed to use it as an AC substitute during the drought. It's too different. But it sure wouldn't hurt if the sequel became more similar to older AC, plus I don't have as much of an issue with DxM not being AC when it's not fricking calling itself that. >it's a shitty mostly single player MMO
Now that's complete nonsense.
>if you want the upgrade you have to give up your character's looks >you either keep the looks or the upgrades, not both
Man, it'd be cool if there was something related to your loss of humanity as you become a cyborg/android, but it's just cosmetic so why did they bother and not also put a way to stay human-looking?
If you're on PC, you can always use CE to alter your appearance while having the robot abilities.
Some of the outer new changes looks moronic, so understand your complaint.
I dunno, AC6s fights versus actual pilots feel a lot more interesting.
DxM too often devolves into chain staggering enemies with the bazooka or endlessly wailing on them with energy sword. At least it did for me.
But wait!!! They knew that this was dogshit, so they added thresholds where the enemy would suddenly do a few giga dashes right past your tiny field of view. So now you had to look around for the enemy before doing the same fricking thing again. Gameplay!
I guess fights against the giant robots were alright though.
thanks for posting. just bought it on steam, this seems right up my alley. as soon as i'm done with shantae 7 sirens (or maybe play it at the same time?) i'll get it downloaded and try it
Isn't this getting a sequel or was my imagination again?
yeah but the sequel trailer is so bad that it would have never stayed in anyone's mind
>That western trailer for the first one that censored the gore
Or maybe it was just the euro one that was censored I forget
this game didnt get its wings because it was on the nintendo console
It doesn't have From title to carry it in sales.
Can AC6 do this?
Mosquito Core 4 did this and it was annoying ngl.
That looks cool but it hurts my eyes it's so fast
Looks more polished than AC6.
Those bosses are a joke and go down if you sneeze at them.
No you cannot equip two blades in this shit game.
i wish AC6 was fun
Actually yes, it can, but it will get you killed.
I don't think you can, energy's too limited in AC6 for that kind of shit.
nah as a pure lightweight you can jump and zoom around like crazy. the problem is most things will rinse 80% of your AP if you do it willy-nilly
I played it for 30 hours and I didn't know you could do this
Its a specific Outer upgrade. I think it's one of the last ones you can get. Let's you Instant Transmission and shit.
When does the enemy fire back?
That's the neat part, it doesn't
No because AC6 is just Dark Souls 6.
BUT THEY CALLED IT A REPAIR KITS. ITS TOTALLY NOT A ESTRUS FLASK.
>which is about the most moronic name ever since 'estrus' is the science term for animals going into heat or their breeding cycle.
At least they fricked over Souls loving homosexuals before with that CE where the flask was a piece of shit.
estus, anon
Yes. But thats not an actual word. Japanese always frick up English. And the English they used has to translate to an actual word.
Not that guy, but he's not jittering the camera to make it look more "epic", he's just readjusting after blinking around the map.
>all that effort
KINO
yea
reminds me of those tryhard nudoom webms where the guy is changing weapons rapidly
they just need to fix the lock on, i want to see someone do that on a small enemy in a map with actual terrain, also the looting/hunting game mechanics and the bad menu-ing on parts makes customing a pain, and is very hard to see what part is better than other.

>why can't they just make a game which ttakes itself seriously and depicts an actual war, like that vietnam-esque gundam.
It's called mechwarrior/chromehounds/high-macs
Because no one wants that shit. Mecha is inherently unrealistic, adding realism turns it to shit. That's why Battletech is fricking dog shit.
>hit mech with rockets
>they're invincible while they get up and it does minimal damage

>they're invincible while they get up and it does minimal damage

Hated this game.
It's literally Mario. Just nitro boost to the next platform.
Watch out for the lightning is all.
Some of the side missions were absolutely moronic

God I hope the 2nd at least makes an attempt to do better
Is anything not informed via text message?
Sure, when two characters stand around delivering exposition, or two characters stand around in their mechs delivering aggressive exposition.
You forgot that it's also secretly an AC prequel.
You missed the part that it's actually Mars
Difference is that God Eater's fight pacing is still fine even if it's goofier and lower budget.
Is God Eater good?
It's a JRPG but as a Monster Hunter clone
Even when I was blowing shit up nothing felt like it had any umph to it, I’d AC6 better in this regard of like satisfying destruction?
Ehhh. Not really. AC6 is very much of "look at how much damage that attack took off a health bar" game as opposed to shit blowing up in a glorious festival of light and violence. There isn't even any mech gore or anything, and the environment is either static or made of tissue paper.
>your pilot can exit the mech and fight as a last resort
Yeah, I'm thinking it's the better game.
You can also give yourself a Muv-Luv translucent skintight bodysuit and I'll forever appreciate the game for that reason.
Wait really? I thought it was only the default pilot suit.
No, but you just make it skin colored and it looks lewd.
You have opened my eyes
>you want to eject because piloting the mech feels like shit
Too anime for it, it is its own thing.
I like both. I'm kind of mixed on the stagger mechanic though.
Its a worse game with more padding and less bosses, but being able to pick up ammo mid mission and multi-player coop are redeeming features.
DxM added exploration missions which were great. Why the frick doesn't AC6 have co-op?
That has been a big disappointment to me.
Post your arsenal
I don't want to have to go through the rigamarole of pulling it off my Switch.
it's that but red
i named it "wandering star"
i go by patton rules, name mechs like tanks and racehorses
RumBrave is my current AC.
this was my last screenshot of it before i dropped it
i think i ruined the game by being a filthy machine gun hugger
>machine gun hugger
A what?
two rapid fire weapons + riding the ass of everything
to be fair though AC also has that problem in the arenas
The problem is even worse in AC6 because this is the best way to stagger someone so you can blast them with cannons.
I thought the best way was shotguns in AC6.
definitely for a lot of AC fights but the harder bosses and ACs will outmanuever you much better compared to DxM
I kinda hate how they out maneuver me though. It gets back into Elden Ring input reading territory. Particularly how they have a no startup assault boost kick that they love to do if you're even a millimeter off on a melee attempt. That's fricking bullshit.
There is no input reading
Get inside the giant enemy's hurtbox swings with their weapons and you can just assfrick them forever.
I never took a clean screenshot of mine. The customization felt lacking enough to me that I never even bothered naming the thing until I beat the game.

Daemon X Machina has a better soundtrack, no stagger bullshit, dual wielding melee, pilot customization and augmentation, and online co-op.
>ends up getting mogged by it
whatever you say, man
It has shitty mech customization and pilots in AC are mummies with microchip memories but you got a point on the soundtrack so eh...
>pilots in AC are mummies with microchip memories
In the old games that was only if you went into debt. Even in AC6 there are plenty of flesh and blood people piloting ACs and especially MTs that aren't augmented. They just aren't shown because From is lazy.
They aren’t shown because that’s a trademark of the series
AC6 shows humans. Just in sketchy concept art form because lazy.
Humans aren’t shown in AC games
Guess AC6 isn't an AC game then.
This homie never played Last Raven
Or Project Phantasma
Daemon X Machina even has saber clashes too, instead of mechs just clipping into each other like in AC6
AC6's bizarre melee trade clusterfrick really could've used a clash mechanic.
This si true, also has waifus
Can you name one?
>pilot customization
ahahahaha homosexual
>Not fitting your pilot with so many augments he turns into a robot himself
NGMI
I love the pilot customization and the visible upgrades even though I played the entire game au naturale. It's such a cool idea.
Based humanbro
Fricking disgusting
Mega Man?
I guess
pfffftttHAHAHAHA
no
This game fricking sucks
What, Armored Core 6? It doesn't suck so far. Even if it's not really what I was hoping it'd be.
very funny
Differences aside, it is kind of funny how many Playstation gays were shitting on this for tons of stuff that they're now praising AC6 for.
I wonder if that means they would have actually sucked off Daemon X Machina too, had it been Playstation exclusive initially.
It’s on steam. Everyone has a computer now.
That didn't stop them from shitting on Rise despite getting a PC release like a year after switch
The second it show humans and making them more important than bots is why it will NEVER be Armored Core 6. Frick off with your anime shit.
are we just gonna pretend Armored Core was never anime and has never been influenced by mecha anime?
>are we just gonna pretend Armored Core was never anime and has never been influenced by mecha anime?
Read moron
>The second it show humans and making them more important than bots is why it will NEVER be Armored Core 6. Frick off with your anime shit.
when have the humans NOT been more important? Fricking Nine Breaker?
All have human. The difference is how human in shitty anime has human take over the mecha spot light while AC is a giant showcase of mechas, bots, and other oddity. 9breaker, as shitty it is, didn't break that rule
AC has literally always been about the pilots you moron, the difference is in AC they don't show the faces
Which game should I get? I love mech anime but never played a mech game.
Armored core 4 and 4A. Daemon X. Gundam Unicorn PS3. Chromehounds for slow stuff (games dead online and unlock able weapons are gone).
DxM is more "anime" and cheaper, but both are fine.
very good game with a terrible last boss fight. coop needed more content.
however much you think AC sucks, DxM sucks like 10 times worse
nah ac6 is basically rpg virtual on
>decided to give it a shot a few months back
>weapons have zero impact
>awful sound design
>those "characters"
>the shitty ui
>the godawful missions
>mfw
BUT MY WAIFU!!1!
the garage music was nice ill give it that.
I had fun but yeah it's not great.
DxM is mediocre and half-baked.
But I refuse to play "AC"6, so I'm waiting for DxM2 now, they better make it actually good.
I wonder what platforms DXM 2 will be targeting.
If DxM2 becomes more like AC then I think it's a fair trade. Two different interpretations of what a modern AC should have been like and you can have both.
Do the MC pilots speak in this one or are they just murder hobo mutes?
the mc is silent but all the other pilots talk a lot
i liked how the garage was a location you could run around in, nice reminder of scale. also going full borg was fun
Daemon x Machina just lost its last slivers of relevancy kek. why did they even greenlight a sequel to it?
It's good timing because AC6 might expand the market for mecha games a bit.
>uhh fromturdsware is the only company allowed to make videogames chud
fromdrones are fricked in the head
It's more relevant than ever now that AC actively refuses to be AC.
And DxM is even less AC, it's a shitty mostly single player MMO
>And DxM is even less AC, it's a shitty mostly single player MMO
We're talking about mechas here, not Xenoblade
You stepped over some of your random loot drops to make that reach
>mechas, not Xenoblade
Excuse me?
I really want a sequel.
Or a port
That shit's still trapped in the Wii U iirc
No, I want an actual new game damn it. It emulates well enough.
Is this game any good?
Frankly not really, it has a small, rabid fanbase but it's probably the worst Xenoblade game, though the only one where you get to actually pilot mechs (not from the start however). The world is seriously great and that's it's main asset, but gameplay is just running around and slapping "probes" into the ground to gather resources passively in the background and the combat system isn't great (XB2 and 3 have major improvements in that area). >it's a shitty mostly single player MMO
Now that's complete nonsense.
I'm still seething that they never released this outside of Japan. Instead we got a fricking Witcher collab.
It's literally Armored Core Shit
>Ganker is pretending to like dxm now
I hate this board
Ganker has always liked DxM
there were constant threads when it came out on switch and constant threads when it got ported to PC
DxM is fun
The worst part is the ending and the villain's weird obsession with knitting
The worst part is the entire story, and three quarters of the gameplay
>if you want the upgrade you have to give up your character's looks
>you either keep the looks or the upgrades, not both
Man, it'd be cool if there was something related to your loss of humanity as you become a cyborg/android, but it's just cosmetic so why did they bother and not also put a way to stay human-looking?
For exactly that reason? If you want to keep the human looks you have to forego the upgrades. That's cool.
But there's no point in it, it's just cosmetic
Sure there is. It adds player expression.
If you're on PC, you can always use CE to alter your appearance while having the robot abilities.
Some of the outer new changes looks moronic, so understand your complaint.
I played through the whole game without body mods because I thought there would be a twist where the AI takes over your body if you used it
probably kinda hard to show a loss of humanity otherwise with a silent protagonist
Silent Protagonist are the best imo for many games. They can be annoying when they talk.
I like it when the Silent Protag finally talks for an important scene
God Eater does it and its fricking great
I dunno, AC6s fights versus actual pilots feel a lot more interesting.
DxM too often devolves into chain staggering enemies with the bazooka or endlessly wailing on them with energy sword. At least it did for me.

I played for a bit and mechs lacked weight. Super robots are boring, I want to make the earth shake when I land in my 5 tons war machine
fromdrones were shitting on it right before release but mechanically it's better than AC6 especially in pvp. The absolute kek @ mechasubhumans.
DxM was awful, I got bored and stopped playing after about 3 missions. I've beaten AC6 3 times already.
