It's okay. I didn't mind it. I liked the skill building and how all that worked, but the end game is non-existent. The "Maps" are boring beyond belief.
I got up to 200+ Corruption with a Righteous Fire (Judgement) Immortal Paladin.
They really should have reworked the old and shitty subclasses before they launched the game.
Yeah, I think this is an issue that any new entrant is going to have. Game feels very light on stuff to do compared to PoE. They needed to differentiate more somewhere, probably with the combat. Game feels almost exactly the same to play as PoE but it's missing 90% of the game and is also way slower with much less customization, though the customization in general is pretty good.
Yeah, ogue for example seems to have skills missing, they don't have the same amount as other characters. Some fairly basic shit too like throw some darts or a fricking smoke bomb. Unless its just meant to be that way. And then you got mage. One skill, the runic invocation, has what I think is 40 (FORTY) variations of the skill that can cast
Most subclasses give 5 skills except for some that only give 4, it's pretty stupid. The subclass you're talking about is Runemaster, which is one of the ones that got added with the 1.0 release. The difference between everything that has to do with Runemaster is completely night and day compared to something old and shit-tier like Shaman.
>This isn't saying much but it's better than Diablo 4.
It's much better than D4 in the most important aspects, but man. Using spells/abilities just feels bland. Like nothing has any impact.
This is what bored me after a few hours.
/it feels like you're just depleting health bars, rather than hitting or killing anything.
There aren't many skills that have given me much impact in this game. Void Knight is good for it.
>There aren't many skills that have given me much impact in this game
You misunderstand. It's an inherent problem with the game's visuals/design. Enemies need to have a much more distinct reaction when they get hit, and they need to die in visually appealing ways. This is what Diablo 4 nails, due to the higher budget, probably.
Diablo 3 was even better at this. What helps is if the area/map is also somewhat destructible, that way when you hit a big chain reaction or a giant hit, it'll feel impactful, due to physics responding appropriately.
Nothing stands out to me in this game. I fail to find anything memorable, the itemization is above average but nothing to cheer about. Once you get your last skill the game feels the same forever except it gets slower deep into the endgame. There is also barely a learning curve since the game is a pushover for most classes.

I like the way the skill builds work. I wish you could have a few more skills equipped but honestly its a fairly refreshing and time friendly diablo like.
Hope they round out the end game a bit and improve the multiplayer performance
I never played one of these ARPG before, nor diablo, PoE or anything.
This game was extremely frustrating to me, because I really liked a lot of concepts in it, specially skill trees for skills themselves aswell as class/subclass and how you can mix and match, but found no reason to do so. The game is never challenging or demanding of these improvement, jsut number go up. Hated the loot too, don't know when to pick it up since all feels very pointless or too strong for your current level.
Skinner box was the name? When a game feels all façade of random chances rather than actual engaging game design.
Shame, I really enjoyed playing a Necromancer with all kinds of grunts but they pretty much removed any gameplay. MAge was fun but made me wonder too what's the point of so many enemies if they're all gonna do the exact same and die by the same strategy.
how does it hold up in that front? I got filtered by the insane amount of looterclicker gameplay elements in PoE, does this also have grinding, RNG and all that garbage from POE and diablows 4?

I extensively played PoE shortly after the beta/alpha. But this game doesn't feel grindy or convoluted the way PoE does. Everything is fairly simple to understand, yet it provides a lot of depth so you can play your character how you prefer.
You're never forced to play a certain way. Loot is very easy to manage.
You can set a filter so anything rare and normal is invisible. Then just pick up yellow and above, equip it if it's an upgrade, and literally toss your old shit on the floor. Unless it's quite rare or whatever.
There's never a reason to go to town for inventory management, since loot doesn't vendor for much.
is there a good story/RPG mechanics? I'm really fine with loot related stuff, it's just that it was really pervasive in PoE (along with the existence of a skill tree around every corner of the UI). I played both Nioh's and was fine with the loot in those.
>is there a good story/RPG mechanics
Not really. But the game makes it easy to skip all the bullshit and just play. The game rarely ever makes you do something tedious or annoying.
I haven't even ever got into POE that much although I have tried a few times. Theres good stuff about ti but a lot that juts doesn't click for me. But it has more of an identity than Last Epoch, which is juts very...mid. Its the best way to describe it. I can remember places and npcs from PoE. Last Epoch I could not name a single character or memorable area or thing that happened. I can play it and I am playing it but its like a plain ham sandwich, you just eat it and then forget about it. Its ok.
Poe and d2 vet, the game is way to fricking easy. But the skills and itemization are cool.
Only being limited to 5 skills at a time is ass. Idc if it's for balance. Minions take up an entire slot, so 3 of my 5 skills are Minions, sad then a curse, and then a temp Summon I spam. I don't have room for a moveskill unless I do dumb shit.
Though, triggering my curse off of my moveskill is kinda interesting, but poe already had curse on hit, so that's not new.
Game is so fricking easy. Maybe it's because I'm playing skelemancer.
I don't get this complaint. Try soloing dungeons - then the game becomes too hard. Try playing hardcore or not dying - too hard again. Try playing another class like bowman - too hard?
Playing sorc was very easy in Diablo II compared to Barbarian. PoE was guilty of that too with fotm builds being invincible and one-shotting everything, until they have nerfed all the fun and the only way for game to be "easy" is to pump out your $$$$$$.
Tbf I'm level 50, in act who the frick knows, I can't tell. I don't even know what a dungeon is since I'm not a wiki gay.
I've died 3 times. One time because I was watching age of empires2 and all my Skeletons following me were actually enemy scorpions. And then some goat guy patriarch that casted blizzard, I walked onto it and it 2hit me. Then when I respawned and started summoning, the same dude casted it on me again from 2 screens away. I basically zero investment into defense.
>living, breathing humans unironically shilled this as a PoE killer
I can't stop laughing
Like I wouldn't even call this shit better than Diablo 4, and that game is absolute stinking dogshit barely worth the gigabytes it takes up on your drive
Talk about one of the worst games of 2024.
I wish there was a universal traversal skill and that the fricking map doesnt reset if you use a portal. doing my first run, went Curse-Acolyte, dropped the skellies for a pimped up Golem. Im only just after the dreadnought but it feels like theres is a lack of distinct armor styles or is it because Im just way early in the game? Also, I dont seem to have nor ever encountered movement debufs and shit, no knockbacks or anything yet
>play sentinel >can facetank everything >unlock tripled spiral hammer throw >lods e dps
it's kinda silly how easy this is but i'm enjoying it
I keep dodging AOE's only to realize I don't need to
This game as a psyop memes to success by streamers and disillusioned Diablo 4 YouTubers and I unfortunately fell for it.
You basically just run in a straight line through boring mobile game looking maps pressing one or two spells and blast through everything (no press no buttons if you’re a minion necro like me. I guess it’s my fault the class is extremely boring).
the general is legit a meme. is you dare to make fun of the game, you get called a poetard. These people are obsessed with poe. I'm constantly making fun of the arpg genre (it's literally goyslop), and they can not comprehend with their small brains that someone can dislike both this game and poe. It's fotm goycattle bait for the normalgays
im kind of confused
i fought the snake and the other snake escaped through time with the power of the epoch and it directed me to do a monolith
i did it but it just unlocked more monoliths
am i done with the game at this point or is there more to it?
i dont see a primary quest indicator anymore so do i just keep doing monoliths?
played for ten minutes, crashed my computer and it wouldn't turn on for ten minutes. uninstalled. also it's a troony game.
no shit
Filtered
it gets better once your character unlocks all their skill customizations
yeah

Event he general class skills of rogue are less, they only get 10 the others get 12

when the frick is the next POE league coming out man
Should be coming out in a month, four months per league now sucks and they don't feel any more substantial
Late March they announced it on poe.com
I never played one of these ARPG before, nor diablo, PoE or anything.

diablo 4 ruined arpg for me
It's good but the end game is boring. It will probably be good in a couple years.
Just keep playing PoE
I like it. Better than PoE autism

It takes 20 hours to finally reach a cool and memorable boss.

forgot to mention im trans btw
not sure if that matters...
newbie genA
Go back to d4 and fortnite.
>Try playing another class like bowman - too hard?
>play as falcoomer
>game is even easier
What now?
neither of the games you're a vet of are hard either, so I don't really get this complaint. There's not a hard ARPG out there

God I can't wait for PoE2
Frick the zoomzoom moronation of PoE1, the blandness of LE, and the dogshit casual shit that is diablo
On the plus side, it made me look forward to the Grim Dawn expansion much more.

relax kraut
so its not even flavor of the month?

Really dislike the gender lock shit I don't want to be a woman
