Digimon games will never be mainstream. Because the dumb homosexuals in charge doesn't know what fun is. They don't know games are supposed to be fun and satisfying to play.
The original Digimon World is considered a cult classic and it actually did breach the mainstream back in its day. Because Digimon as an IP was very mainstream, and Bandai actually ADVERTISED it.
I have a tender place in my heart for Digimon World and own my copy still but it is not a very good game. It was liked well enough for the time and the post-ironic appeal of the IP limps it over the finish line for zoomers that wanna pretend to like clunky games for gamer cred.
I knew about it but had no idea what the gameplay was since ads always avoided showing that for some reason, thought it like some Ocarina of Time esque adventure game/3D Fighter
>normalgays are just nostalgic for pokemon aesthetics, they don't care about the gameplay
... if that was the case they would buy Gamefreak's games, not desperately escape it.
There is massive one - when it come to liking *pokémons*.
Palworld players and S&V players however, have a much, much thinner overlap.
Literally everyone I know IRL who bought Palworld is someone who got fed up with GF's "gameplay" and had stopped buying pokémon games long ago.
Palworld got on the map because of the meme value of being Pokemon with guns.
Funnily enough this was actually something Digimon could have done but they only started experimenting with really dark themes with Survive, and with Palworld's release it might be too late.
A game where you play as a soldier trying to deal with a digimon invasion and you get one of these as a starter might sell well.
palworld destroyed any future digimon had. It will just be inferior in every way now. "Oh yeah it's like palworld but bad". They will never make a game with so much stuff like pallworld OR pokemon. I know you gays love to shit on pokemon but fact is it's a better franchise and has better games. After palworld there is no place for another monster collection game. The normies are burned by palworld now. 2million to 100k and falling. It's literally over for digimon. They never participated in the race to begin with
yeah palworld really did frick over any potential future revivals. It doesn't help that digimon get crossovers with asiaticslop lately. It will just cement the perception that it's also slop. Which honestly it kinda is. 3 decades and nothing to show for it. How emberassing
The marketing seemed to heavily lean into the crafting and catching mechanics.
If you're talking about the buzz around it. Yeah, some websites called it "Pokemon with guns" and it just took with some people.
That's dumb. It's a SurvivalCraft game with a pokemon skin. That's it. Pokemon games are completely different from Palworld.
Now Pokemon definitely can learn about some things from Palworld, but like I said, different games. If someone made a pokemon game that's a crpg like bg3, that would get a swarm of attention too. A game like that wouldn't be ignored just because Palworld came and went.
>Only started experimenting dark themes with Survive
Tamers having depression and contemplating suicide, Savers having genocide, cyber sleuth having kids get harvested with their body parts sold or having them turned into sex dolls..

Yeah and while they had more issues than just being for two different fanbases at the same time and appealing to neither that was the most obvious one.
Digimon threads just have the highest concentration of people who really don't know what they're talking about.

They tried something like that when they made Re:digitized and Next Order and those are remembered as the not as good as World 1 games for a reason.
Not to mention 02 having child death and that the Digimon Kaiser did the worst of Palworld but in the Digital World
palworld proved people care about the gameplay, tho.
Digimon should have done what Palworld did ten years ago because it's the original Pokemon with guns. It didn't because the company who owns it is antithetical to making fun products that are creative.
>We get a full remake >It scraps the art design for Next 0rder assets and they add in the deadly sins / holy knights as megas
Are Bamco the most "monkey paw" company there is?
I started cyber sleuth last week since you guys keep recommending it and it might be the worst game I've ever played in my life. I don't know how you homosexuals think this is any good at all.
I don't blame you. The story barely involves Digimon at first, and the game doesn't git gud until you have the freedom to fully manage your farm which is probably around chapter 8 or so. I don't know what frick they're thinking
It's fantastic, for a digimon game. The bar is very low.
What the 2nd Anon said. The music is fantastic and the roster is huge but like you really have to of seen the massive frick ups the other games make to truly appreciate it.
Previous games(Digimon World 1 in particular) just straight up did not want you to enjoy yourself and expected you to just get high off the fumes of the tedium.
I always shit on cyber shit. Digimon games on PS1 are good and DW3 is much better than cyber shit but you will need emulator for fast forward and cheat. You will have more fun with next order or decode than cyber shit with it's fetch quests and soulless world.
>Digimon games on PS1 are good
Please piss off. I'm not even going to talk about this with (You) The only semi-decent game on the PSX was Digital Card Battle. There are substantial complaints that go way past mildly annoying the player into being torturous dumb frickery about each and every one them for a very good reasons.
At least I remember DW3 despite not having played it since 2015. I don't remember any-fricking-thing about cyber sleuth or hacker's memory aside from the sour taste it left.

Just play World 1 like Pikmin and it becomes god teir. It's only tedious if you let it be. The problem is you need to learn how to not let it.
The problem with that is, Pikmin is fun.
Digimon World 1 is just not.
It's like the grind of Darkest Dungeon's end game but at random times, and only if you did the exact right things to be able to progress in the first place.

Anyone recommending the cyber sleuth games is a moron, don't trust digimongays desperate for content.
The only good one is the first Digimon world, patch it with the Maeson hack to improve some QoL here and there and don't touch any other game of the series.
That's a bit harsh, but it's definitely generous to call it "good". There's nothing particularly interesting about the combat system, exploration is forgettable, and the writing is like the seasonal anime show that everybody forgets about ten seconds after it ends. The first half could have gotten rid of the digimon altogether and nothing would have changed.

people shilled it for so long that pretty much everybody who tried it now hates it. And they should hate it because it's one if not the worst digimon game out there
yeah yeah bla bla wait until that pokeb***h tries it and tell that "the best game digimon has and all the fans said she should play it" is actually worse the one she played first. I'm sure another 10 million views won't do the franchise even more harm. Frick you homosexual. It's trannies like you who kill this already down on it's knees franchise even more.
Cyber Sleuth was heavily shilled due to Pokemon Sword and Shield. Cyber Sleuth's qualities were heavily exaggerated to dunk on SwSh. When SwSh's season passed so did Cyber Sleuth's. This kind of shilling might have even been detrimental in the long run.
I'll say this though, the Living Doll quest was kino and I'll remember it for the rest of my days.

It was never like this in the past or this bad. We just have rage bait schizos who love to bring up and fling shit with pokemon every time there's a digimon thread. Wish this board would learn how to use this function, these days every board needs this.
They're too boring for me to see it that way. And the controlling digimon cheat doesn't save Championship it just makes it stupid easy. Championship's main issue is that every digimon is the same except for the sprite. They all should have had different attacks and properties so match-ups were more than which had bigger numbers.
The problem with that is, Pikmin is fun.
Digimon World 1 is just not.
It's like the grind of Darkest Dungeon's end game but at random times, and only if you did the exact right things to be able to progress in the first place.

I will not say the game's main flaw is that it doesn't have a tutorial and lie. But I will say all the good parts are worth the pain.
Digimon Cyber Sleuth is just a very average JRPG. Which makes it better than every Digimon game objectively. However the only one actually worth a shit is Digimon World 1. Very unique experience and is great after getting into it proper while also being dogshit if that makes sense.
Extra content too. I want re release for originals on physical collection then some remakes with changes and extra contents or reimagining. New games are welcome too remakes are boring.
I never played ReDigitize, but what was the general reaction to it in terms of how many people were able to figure it out? I would imagine that it's leagues easier than World. I got filtered by World until someone told me "hey moron, stop hitting the gym and just kill shit", so I honestly wonder how far the average person these days would get by, whether they make a remaster with little to no QoL or a remake that puts in QoL stuff.
I'm happy because I wanted digimon to die for forever now. It's better off burried than kept being raped and then these trannies and pedos in these threads posting the same shit for years
>They got rid of Habu
That's great news.
He was a great PR person but you can tell from the development cycle of Survive and Cyber Sleuth both of which were games that took FOREVER, that he was not good with managing his staff.
I don’t care if it happens. I got a cheap refurbished copy a few weeks ago and I’ve been having a great time with it. It should be left alone because no matter what they do, they’d frick it up royally. It’s perfect the way it is
Not gonna happen. Digimon games get bottom barrel budgets and Namco is already struggling. If it did happen I'd want them to go back to fixed camera angles.
I just pray that if they do go for a remake that they do stop the progression at Ultimates.
Even if the game does get a rep for being a "grindy" game, it always felt like the least grindy of all DW titles and I do believe the early cap plays a large part to that.
I think that's a problem with all or most digimon games. Every tier below Mega becomes pointless in a lot of them. Back in World 1 you could progress through a good chunk of the game with just a champion and still do fine. In a lot of later digimon games, you might as well not touch anything until you have a mega. I do agree but I don't know if they should remove megas entirely. They just really need to balance the progression for every tier.
>They just really need to balance the progression for every tier.
I thought the base game was pretty well balanced. With zones closer to the city being meant for your rookies. While most other areas being meant for your champions to tackle and try and find new techniques. Only times I felt like I needed an ultimate was probably for Freezeland (Garurumon Fight and Ice Sanct) as well as the arenas.
To have Megas feel comfortably added to the setting I think would require the addition of a separate continent entirely. One balanced around seeing Ultimates and Megas everywhere. However that would just make File Island feel like dead content in the post game which I wouldn't want to see at all. Like what happens when a MMO releases a new expansion and players never go back to the old areas ever again.
Not much you can do about that anymore. All that most popular Digimon are in that tier. They're not gonna ignore WarGreymon's existence to please a tiny handful of people.
digimon world probably has one of the biggest disparities between how bad of a game it is and how many people played it of any game ever made
if not for the branding it would be utterly forgotten apart from a few random die hard defenders
It doesn't need to. Anyone that wants to play it can do their own research and emulate it perfectly fine. But in this rare case, a digimon remaster could spark interest and lead to more games
This, if anything the obscurity and hoops you have to jump through to play it today add to the experience and make it feel like a real hidden portal to the digital world, it aged like wine.
Bandai is refocusing on huge AAA games and fired the only guy on staff who actually gave a shit about Digimon. At most you might get a Digimon gacha or maybe a Digimon live service game that dies in six months.
Idk how popular is digimon these days, but i assume being owned by the same company that owns Dragon Ball and One Piece might make it hard to justify funding anything else, since those two print money. Might as well sell digivice with Goku in it.
They should just do it like the lore. Make Perfect the natural endpoint, and then make Ultimate an endgame upgrade that you can't access before a certain point. In Digimon lore, most Digimon only make it to the Adult stage. This is the normal end to most Digimon life cycles. But among Adult Digimon, those who manage to emerge victorious in an extraordinary number of battles are able to reach the Perfect stage. This is why back in the old days, many Perfect Digimon were Cyborgs. They reached their natural limits so they had to power themselves up in other ways.
The Ultimate level is what happens when a Digimon that has already exceeded its limits manages to reach the pinnacle of power. Ultimate-level Digimon like Wargreymon are practically gods. While it's true that most Ultimate-level Digimon might be outperformed by stronger Ultimate-level Digimon like Omegamon or Lucemon, the point is that the Ultimate-level is so rare that it's not super common to run into one in the first place.
The distribution of Digimon levels is something like this: >Around 50-80% of Digimon manage to reach the Adult level (depending on how harsh the environment is) >Maybe 5-10% of all Digimon reach the Perfect-level >Less than 1% of all Digimon reach the Ultimate-level
Don't care what anyone says I love the contrast of nature and old technology smashed together. All future digimon games started losing this concept and started becoming the same generic blue internet void with wireframes everywhere and i absolutely fricking hated it. Given the nature of the outdated tech digimon is based on, it should have never evolved and changed. If they're still making tamagotchi's to this day they can keep the CRTV's and 90's tech.
Yeah it's wild how good of an aesthetic they had and just abandoned it like it was nothing
Digimon evolving alongside the advancement of technology is a fundamental part of the lore. This was something they decided on from the start. If Digimon and the Digital World remained stagnant, then that goes against the core themes of the sereis.
>Try mandarake >If your buying in akihabara, compare with online prices first since most of the stores there are overpriced
Thanks man. Does Mandarake resell scalped items or something? I dont mind paying a bit extra since I didnt pre-order. Kinda wanted a pendulum specifically since Ill be walking so much.
Yeah mandarake sells a lot of stuff, usually they keep stock of vintage and rare stuff there so theres probably not a lot of newer releases/ readily available items
If you dont mind second hand stuff, try going to a large bookoff or hobbyoff. I bought a crapton of digimon cards and toys there a few years back. Dont go to a small bookoff branch though since theres usually only used books there, I think there was a superbazaar bookoff in the outskirts of tokyo with tons of other thing not even related to digimon to check out.
A bit hyperbolic I admit, but Survive pretty much epitomizes my overall thoughts on the series in general: The ideas it presents are fricking great; it's just the execution that leaves a lot to be desired overall.
Now if only Bamco gave enough of a shit to utilize their connections with Nintendo and utilize any of the latter's talent/studios for at least ONE Digimon project...
Digimon games will never be mainstream. Because the dumb homosexuals in charge doesn't know what fun is. They don't know games are supposed to be fun and satisfying to play.

Nah, it's a great game. In fact, the sequels have completely and utterly failed to measure up to it.

We're talking about marketing here, Palworld would not have gained any popularity without its trailers showing sweatshops and guns.

How do ou like the DS games? They are just so nothing.
They're comfy enough, championship is the only one that needs the "control character" code to be bearable
They're too boring for me to see it that way. And the controlling digimon cheat doesn't save Championship it just makes it stupid easy. it's mental illness. Eternal infiriority complex.
I'm a Digimongay passively, if something cool comes up, neat, if not, I don't care.

Pretty much. Though he did resurrected interest over the franchise. Just, not through releasing good game.
Digimon is just a blatant pokemon ripoff.
i don't know shit about digimon. i downloaded re:digitize and bought cyber sleuth because of yasuda. hopefully things get better for digibros
World 3 is objectively better than 1 by every metric. They need to remake 3 not 1.
It has pokemon combat, which makes it dogshit automatically.
Digimon dating sim when? They're not animals like Pokemon so this shouldn't be an issue.
kill everyone who makes and buys remasters.
The game needs a remake. The whole digivolution system sucked. Thankfully this was fixed in Re digitize.
I don’t care if it happens. I got a cheap refurbished copy a few weeks ago and I’ve been having a great time with it. It should be left alone because no matter what they do, they’d frick it up royally. It’s perfect the way it is
thank fricking god. i can only imagine how shit it would be.
This game will never sell in this day and age. Also, the original DW1 didn't sell that much right?
Wouldn't this be the third time it would be remade?
I spose the 3ds and the recent one aren't fully 1:1 though, so eh
Maybe because those were sequels and not a remake/remaster you moron.
Who gives a shit give me another Digimon platform fighter
In this day and age, it probably wouldn't sell.
Digimon is over.
Good that means the guys who make virtual pets have less competition. We might get a digimon v-pet with a new shell. Wouldn't that be a treat?
Consider is corporate lingo for "no." Shame because I'd buy a PS1 world collection + Digital Card Battle pack in a heartbeat.
Idk how popular is digimon these days, but i assume being owned by the same company that owns Dragon Ball and One Piece might make it hard to justify funding anything else, since those two print money. Might as well sell digivice with Goku in it.
I know saying I don't want digimon become popular sounds like cope but that shouldn't happen. I don't want to deal with mexicans.
it would just flop, leave it alone
The distribution of Digimon levels is something like this:
>Around 50-80% of Digimon manage to reach the Adult level (depending on how harsh the environment is)
>Maybe 5-10% of all Digimon reach the Perfect-level
>Less than 1% of all Digimon reach the Ultimate-level
Isn't a new Digimon Story game in development?
They didn't say IT was canceled. But it was canceled.
inb4 they modernize it and it loses all its charm
Don't care what anyone says I love the contrast of nature and old technology smashed together. All future digimon games started losing this concept and started becoming the same generic blue internet void with wireframes everywhere and i absolutely fricking hated it. Given the nature of the outdated tech digimon is based on, it should have never evolved and changed. If they're still making tamagotchi's to this day they can keep the CRTV's and 90's tech.
Digimon world actually felt like a world.
Don't make excuses for a fricking corporation. Just put flatscreens and nfc sensors in the nature. There now both guys are happy.
Anyone know where I can buy a Digimon Pendulum Color in Tokyo?
Try mandarake
If your buying in akihabara, compare with online prices first since most of the stores there are overpriced
>Try mandarake
>If your buying in akihabara, compare with online prices first since most of the stores there are overpriced
Good. I don't want it.
The game sucked back then and it still sucks today.
>ad hominem
no amount of projection will make it less true troony
Now if only Bamco gave enough of a shit to utilize their connections with Nintendo and utilize any of the latter's talent/studios for at least ONE Digimon project...
I sure hope it doesn't. No more remakes. No more reboots.
>No remaking Adventure(PSP) with gameplay of World
Wasted potential
putting in effort? adding fun? considering the fans?
that's just asking for too much goy
What would he become once the racial slur database is installed into him?
maybe a little more frog-like
