The problem is that the regular campaign is called "Practice Mode" rather than classic mode, which is where you simply go through the loosely connected levels with a set of immortal element team unlocking more levels along the way, same deal as SWAT 4. Commander mode seems like a more hardcore experience for people already familiar with the game. You still get cheevos and cosmetic rewards from playing through the game in practice mode, I think people should be playing through the game in "Practice Mode" first and then tackling Commander mode.

Unlocking alternate playmodes after beating a level is hardly the level of progression expected of a campaign. It's the equivalent of unlocking a timed survival mode after beating a game. Not bad, but not the sort of progression that keeps me interested in actually continuing the campaign

Thank God this game has mod support. I'm hoping for the issues to be fixed with them soon. Also the first mod to release for this version was to literally unlock all customisation from the start lol.
3070ti and good cpu and getting pretty bad fs drops down to the 40s, (1440p), also had the game hard crash to desktop. feature improvements are v nice though, feels like a real game now
I had to force Vsync through the Nvidia drivers, the in game Vsync seems to be fricked atm so it'd be best just to do it through your respective GPU driver.
Nothing is preferable because as it stands a static voice over and hastily generated AI art and screenshots with filters plastered on them really show just how little the devs care.

Many games have been rejected from Steam for containing AI generated content because of copyright law shit. If you can't prove that you own all the images in the dataset used to generate the images, then you don't have the right to use them in a commercial product.
VOID definitely doesn't own the images in the datasets used to generate the AI art, because if they did, they'd use the original images instead of AI slop.
If Valve learns about that, shit might actually go down, and I think that would be really funny.

Been running Dx12 all max graphics no DLSS on a 3060, 5600x and have been able to maintain a fairly constant 100-120 fps, with only ONE random instance of frames dipping to 40 before correcting themselves
i sat still and watched it and it would start at 100, steadily drop down and down to 50, then jump back up to 100 and repeat. there's some kind of dumping going on, it's unrelated to what's actually on screen. really weird

its a mixed bag, especially when you see the 1.0 label on it. It's good that they arent calling it a final release or full release or anything like that (even though the price did increase)
They need to implement certain bugfixes quickly. UI issues should be easy to track down and fix, but then they may need to address the fact that their UI philosophy is moronic and that a simple menu system might work better.
Not making all maps available right off the bat in *some* way for singleplayer is one of the stupidest decisions I've ever seen.
All the rooms in HQ with no use and the NPCs with no dialogue or interactivity make the game look cheap and unfinished and can leave a bad first impression.
The suspect AI will obviously need tweaks but it has improved quite a bit. I played the ever-loving shit out of early access and they are a lot more fair and also more unpredictable.
I think a lot of people actually suck at the game and dont realize it. The people b***hing about Brisa Cove, for example, probably dont realize that it is the ultimate skill check. You have to use non-lethal methods to beat it and you have to be patient. These two things are anathema to probably half the playerbase. Again, it is not right that players are forced to go through this in singleplayer. Its a frustrating map to get the hang of and people may just want to skip it and go back to it later
the game still has good fundamentals though and I think all these things listed can get fixed rather quickly
Currently love this game. I'm not into the whole SWAT community, so I'm not sure why people hate it, but for me it's fun. It's a real nice change of pace to play coop games where people actually communicate instead of one guy speedrunning and we all blindly follow. My biggest complaints are definitely based on performance, EA was so buttery smooth, since launching this is a total shitshow. What's worse is that it's the current year and the UI isn't tied to resolution meaning tiny text. Ai still has issues but on the swat side I'd say the issue is we need better unit controls that aren't necessarily as context sensitive.
The pd is shit, I would genuinely prefer what we had in swat 4 to this.
Gunplay and movement feel shit, tacticool and realismtard games are starting to become really un enjoyable to play because every aspect of the player avatar feels shit to pilot, there is no excuse for projected sights to be this shit in motion, and holy shit I can't wait for someone to mod in a blur remover, the game already has a busy environment that's blurred to shit by modern rendering techniques cut that shit out.

But then your guys quickly run out of ammo and start to frick around with either reloading, or drawing their sidearm, and the enemies who did not comply quickly ventilate your entire team. Or those who previously complied pull a knife or a gun and frick everyone up.
Yeah, I hate how SWAT games limit ammo. It's not like they carry that much IRL either but IRL they also don't go up against multiple fricking criminals with just 5 dudes either, and if they're storming a massive place I'm sure they're carrying more than just 3-4 spare mags.
maybe theres a mechanic where if you turn your back to a suspect theyll draw a gun on you and it bugged out when cop #2 walked through him

Haven't played enough to say, I played a lot before 1.0 but I'm only around twisted nerve in commander mode and they seem to have a decent amount of lines but again I haven't played nearly enough of commander mode to have a proper opinion on it. Like all the points you pointed out are in the game and that is what it makes it unique currently. They used to have mission types for each level but some would be better than others for certain levels and not all of them would have all the game modes anyways. There really weren't that many differentiating game modes in levels, only a handul of levels got the multiple gamemode treatment, most notable one being GAS which had nearly all of them, it mostly dictated how aggressive the suspects would behave and was also a testing ground for the behavior of suspect AI in different gameplay scenarios in different types of levels. I don't think the levels were ever supposed to have multiple game modes for each one, that wasn't how it worked in swat 4 and like the patch notes say it would mess with the narrative of each one.
Some maps had multiplemodes. Like bomb threat, barricade, raid, activeshooter. Hostage rescue. So you could chose i wanna fight 1-4 guys, i wanna fight 20 guys, i want there to be bombs. The map would change is size too so it wasnt 20 guys in a small room or 1 guy in a huge building.

Yes I did, they're a bunch of mostly unrelated yet slightly strung together crime stories surrounding a bigger picture to be investigated. You go through the stories of pissed off veterans, corrupt high ranking pedophiles, yemenis terrorists, and a whole bunch of other shit. It's all taken in level by level with hints of continuity and the feeling of stepping into a way bigger picture than you originally thought in the exact same way SWAT 4 does. Disable in game Vsync, foce it with GPU drivers. Not sure if you already tried that or if you even can but it made a decent enough improvement for me without having to deal with screen tearing. Either I got lucky or the vsync in this game is really fricking broken

my biggest problem with the SWAT AI is that they are as slow as the player. its a problem when they cant snap to enemies like the enemies can snap to them, so they are more often than not still completing their prebaked tacticool animation of sweeping the room only to get completely beamed by a suspect that would JUST be out of their vision. its frustrating that your own SWAT AI is as cubersome as the player.
They fricking suck, just give them the fricking suspect AI and they would be clearing rooms solo. AI can dome you from a heartbeat away whilst the shitty SWAT AI barely even pies a room or misses the most obvious angles.

Changing my AI squads loadout in order to fit the playstyle in each mission is such a pain in the ass. I wish the saved presets included whatever I equipped on them.
I at least understood why crackheads and Black folk would rush you down. But some of the higher profile cases should at least have enemies more willing to barricade themselves instead of instantly trying to flank you the moment they hear a pin drop.
AI in RoN is about as aggressive as SWAT 4 IMO
The only difference I've seen is that now they tend to pre-fire way more often but they're still about as accurate as SWAT 4

The problem is that the regular campaign is called "Practice Mode" rather than classic mode, which is where you simply go through the loosely connected levels with a set of immortal element team unlocking more levels along the way, same deal as SWAT 4. Commander mode seems like a more hardcore experience for people already familiar with the game. You still get cheevos and cosmetic rewards from playing through the game in practice mode, I think people should be playing through the game in "Practice Mode" first and then tackling Commander mode.

Been running Dx12 all max graphics no DLSS on a 3060, 5600x and have been able to maintain a fairly constant 100-120 fps, with only ONE random instance of frames dipping to 40 before correcting themselves

They need to implement certain bugfixes quickly. UI issues should be easy to track down and fix, but then they may need to address the fact that their UI philosophy is moronic and that a simple menu system might work better.
Not making all maps available right off the bat in *some* way for singleplayer is one of the stupidest decisions I've ever seen.
All the rooms in HQ with no use and the NPCs with no dialogue or interactivity make the game look cheap and unfinished and can leave a bad first impression.
The suspect AI will obviously need tweaks but it has improved quite a bit. I played the ever-loving shit out of early access and they are a lot more fair and also more unpredictable.
I think a lot of people actually suck at the game and dont realize it. The people b***hing about Brisa Cove, for example, probably dont realize that it is the ultimate skill check. You have to use non-lethal methods to beat it and you have to be patient. These two things are anathema to probably half the playerbase. Again, it is not right that players are forced to go through this in singleplayer. Its a frustrating map to get the hang of and people may just want to skip it and go back to it later
the game still has good fundamentals though and I think all these things listed can get fixed rather quickly

Currently love this game. I'm not into the whole SWAT community, so I'm not sure why people hate it, but for me it's fun. It's a real nice change of pace to play coop games where people actually communicate instead of one guy speedrunning and we all blindly follow. My biggest complaints are definitely based on performance, EA was so buttery smooth, since launching this is a total shitshow. What's worse is that it's the current year and the UI isn't tied to resolution meaning tiny text. Still, lots of fun autism to be add.

In ROE, your team pumps enemies full of beanbags & pepperballs, and they eventually do comply. But then your guys quickly run out of ammo and start to frick around with either reloading, or drawing their sidearm, and the enemies who did not comply quickly ventilate your entire team. Or those who previously complied pull a knife or a gun and frick everyone up.

Haven't played enough to say, I played a lot before 1.0 but I'm only around twisted nerve in commander mode and they seem to have a decent amount of lines but again I haven't played nearly enough of commander mode to have a proper opinion on it. I hope you're wrong I guess because the voice acting is pretty lackluster in general.

So far they aren't braindead. I leave them out in a corridor while I take a team further in to a map, and they'll hold their own. Most I got is single file line derping out on me and asking that I move despite my right being open on Streamer/23 MB Per Second.

Ironically the AI is only broken if you try to play tactically.
If you play reckless you can easily solo every map on the game without taking much damage, it's only when you try to utilize cover and equipment is when you get one tapped.

But on a serious note, the new update/release puts a big emphasis of mental health and PTSD in the context of witnessing horrors on duty. What is more horrifying... shooting the crackhead who just surrendered to you, only to pull a knife on you or realizing (in case of the girl on the gas station map) you just severly wounded or even killed a child, because you were in an adrenaline rush during a firefight or your round overpenetrated through the wall?

How did it use to work?
They used to have mission types for each level but some would be better than others for certain levels and not all of them would have all the game modes anyways. There really weren't that many differentiating game modes in levels, only a handul of levels got the multiple gamemode treatment, most notable one being GAS which had nearly all of them, it mostly dictated how aggressive the suspects would behave and was also a testing ground for the behavior of suspect AI in different gameplay scenarios in different types of levels. I don't think the levels were ever supposed to have multiple game modes for each one, that wasn't how it worked in swat 4 and like the patch notes say it would mess with the narrative of each one.
Some maps had multiplemodes. Like bomb threat, barricade, raid, activeshooter. Hostage rescue. So you could chose i wanna fight 1-4 guys, i wanna fight 20 guys, i want there to be bombs. The map would change is size too so it wasnt 20 guys in a small room or 1 guy in a huge building.

It's all taken in level by level with hints of continuity and the feeling of stepping into a way bigger picture than you originally thought in the exact same way SWAT 4 does. the performance in this game took a nosedive. pre 1.0 i was running fine and now it's taking a shit. 3080ti should not be struggling even on low settings.
Disable in game Vsync, foce it with GPU drivers. Not sure if you already tried that or if you even can but it made a decent enough improvement for me without having to deal with screen tearing. Either I got lucky or the vsync in this game is really fricking broken
Turn off nvidia reflex, turn off vsync, enable frame cap and set it to whatever your monitor is.

Any of you also experiencing issues with mirrors in the game. I run a completely new and more than capable rig, but mirrors show me no actual image. I've seen gameplay footage from the alpha and pre release days, where it worked.

AFAIK only during story mode. I could be wrong though, have only tried a few things out with the game so far since release.

The balaclava clips through nearly every face that isn't the default faces from the prior release. They will probably fix the clipping and add it back in.

I don't think time plays a part of it since going for S with AI is usually slower, I got S on the streamer raid and I went over my PB time, so it's probably not killing anyone
Has anyone gotten mods to download from the ingame browser? When I try to download a mod it says "subscription failed." Yes the mod is updated for 1.0. It would have been nice if they stuck with the workshop like they originally said.

i think they literally only worked on SWAT AI for the entire year. everything else feels rushed and like an afterthought.
And it still sucks considering they still funnel, get trapped on doors and miss obvious locations

my biggest problem with the SWAT AI is that they are as slow as the player. its a problem when they cant snap to enemies like the enemies can snap to them, so they are more often than not still completing their prebaked tacticool animation of sweeping the room only to get completely beamed by a suspect that would JUST be out of their vision. its frustrating that your own SWAT AI is as cubersome as the player.
They fricking suck, just give them the fricking suspect AI and they would be clearing rooms solo. AI can dome you from a heartbeat away whilst the shitty SWAT AI barely even pies a room or misses the most obvious angles.
ye i understand AI is tough, but dont let them pass just because they made the swat AI not completely useless like before. they still have issues and imagine if someone who plays the game exclusively coop. the game is practically the same as before, except worse performance and more meme maps. what a joke of 1.0.

Changing my AI squads loadout in order to fit the playstyle in each mission is such a pain in the ass. I wish the saved presets included whatever I equipped on them.

I at least understood why crackheads and Black folk would rush you down. But some of the higher profile cases should at least have enemies more willing to barricade themselves instead of instantly trying to flank you the moment they hear a pin drop.

AI in RoN is about as aggressive as SWAT 4 IMO
The only difference I've seen is that now they tend to pre-fire way more often but they're still about as accurate as SWAT 4
I think if Ron toned down the suppression effects the game would play way better
