Did they not play Rebirth? Barret gets a ton of respect, especially with the Dyne arc and the Myrna flashback. He's also the level headed father figure. Sure he has some silly scenes (like with the baby bird), but every character has that kind of stuff.
Remake and Rebirth made him one of my favorite characters when he was just a stereotypical angry black man in the original.
