Not that useful either unless I'm missing something. Way too big of a risk to use most of them.
all metroidvania games are not that good. they can be good for a metroidvania game but that is like a game being good for a mobile game. they don't fully address everything that makes a work of art good.
What's the best genre
If you get to the City of Tears and you're not in love with this game, you're probably just a miserable fricking person.
Most of the people I've introduced to this game irl don't even have the patience to finish Greenpath which is where I started liking the game. ADD is something else man.
why is this the only good boss in the game?
Because you weren't skilled enough to get to Pure Vessel.
I did beat the 4th pantheon, I was just exaggerating. I liked a few of the bosses but I just feel like NKG is just a step above, mostly due tot the music.
What I did not do was the 5th pantheon, I just thought it'd be too autistic so I never even tried it

That's just plain wrong. The design of some of the areas and how you need to think about traversing them is what makes the exploration fun.
I got a legitimate complaint. The beginning of the game feels fricking awful to play and the platforming is incredibly tedious. After that green grass area i dropped the game because of the sheet amount of platforming the game made me do and backtracking after deaths also felt shitty. The actual voss fights were pretty cool but dying and having to backtrack through all the shit really turned me off the game.
You're missing out, because the more abilities you unlock, the faster the pace of the game gets. You can eventually fly through the areas. literally.
Dude c'mon the traversing in the game is bad simple. There's actually no level design. There's no overarching idea on each stage. The game just keep smamming 'new' enemies at you. All of them easy to fight and are unispired.
I dont understand these Metroid copycats that played The OG game and didnt understand why said game works.
This game focuos is on combat, why it does have to be a wanna be metroid. Doesnt sum shit to the overall experience. Dark Souls killed a generation of indie onions devs.
The combat's probably the weakest part behind level design. There's no parry or controlled way to stagger enemies, so it's always a matter of walk up to enemy > walk away while he attacks > walk back and hit him > repeat with spells in between when you have the juice for it.
Yes.
People only like this game because the tumblr visuals remind them of their Emo Youth, or... Wow i'm an adult, I do like sad shit with no color or distinction!

Why is this Fandom filled by homosexuals and trannies? Is it because the very minor but sad detail that the void took everything from vessels even their sexes?
>why are video games filled with homosexuals and trannies
because everything sucks
thankfully hollow knight only has one homosexual and you can kill him
I enjoyed it overall, but I think the map was too large for a metroidvania style game. It's just not fun having to travel through the same area 20 times a playthrough just because some path is blocked off late-game. The fast travel helps a bit but not enough for a map this large. I think I would've preferred it more if the map was like 75% as big
It has a really nice atmosphere. I could just walk around the map and enjoy the music and backgrounds for ages. Especially Greenpath and Queen's Gardens.
It's dead simple but fun enough. I'm glad Hornet gets a dash by default in Silksong, first game was too fricking big in relation to the Knight's speed.
It really is, the fight music is probably my favourite in the game too.
It's fine not to like a game, but why is it that I've noticed that this particular game has a dedicated hate brigade attached to it? Did the game's dev frick your mom op?
I feel like a lot of bosses are badly designed and you just have to guess what move they're gonna do. The moves themselves are not hard to dodge but you have to stand still and wait until they actually start doing it because if you begin moving beforehand they might just bump into you and damage you. It kind of kills my mood that I just have to sit and do nothing for 40% of the fight
>Clean minimalist style that mouthbreathers can't differentiate from beanmouth shit. >Dialogue and cutscenes rare and brief, no pop culture references or lectures on the importance of accepting every bug regardless of their chitin colour or sexual orientation. >Setting isn't an overused one and isn't played up to be a cutesy bug kingdom. >Only thing even remotely close to being tumblr-y is the vessels having no gender. And if the character in question is made out of singularity slime with no emotions, desires, voice, or personality in general, I can bite that they also have Ken doll crotches, especially when the game only mentions it once. If you gave them a dong they'd get horny. >And maybe the fat bug was a dyke, she kept saying a girl's name.
The combat is piss easy and the world layout is dog water but I really can't fathom what got up everybody's asses about this game. Is it the devs trying to increase sales with some kind of experimental reverse-shilling?
You tell 'em, bro.
you are wrong.
it's good
then only complaint i have is the special attacks not being that cool to use
/unsubscribe

they actually are really useful because they deal 2,5x damage if i'm not mistaken and can be used to oneshot mobs that are hard to hit
it's entertaining enough and it quite long for the genre so it was a nice waste of time with a few standout moments
The game is surprising huge, and continues to open up gameplay wise until the end. It's a rare indie game that feels fresh.
I disagree.
thats just your opinion
now check out this fact:
I liked it
that's not a fact, that's an opinion
here's my opinion you didn't like it
Metroid Dread was better.
You're right, it's a masterpiece.
all metroidvania games are not that good. they can be good for a metroidvania game but that is like a game being good for a mobile game. they don't fully address everything that makes a work of art good.
the map gets boring very fast
"muh backtracking" isn't the problem, its the areas being overly simple and kind of characterless
>Overly simple and characterless

maybe for you lol
> think about traversing them

Boring.
but there is a parry mechanic
Meant to type counter. The parry/block is fine, but successful ones don't open a window or anything else that makes doing it worth the danger.
Better than Metroid Dregs

you are right, it is a masterpiece.
I've been stuck on pantheon five for a few days now. I would like to bag all cheevos before SS.
If you get to the City of Tears and you're not in love with this game, you're probably just a miserable fricking person.
Play Super Metroid, and understand what good gaming actually is.
the only thing i didnt like was the story
maybe its a me thing but i got 0 invested in it
and the end had shit pacing
8/10 overall
It IS that good.
>Filtered by NKG I bet
Many such cases.
why is this the only good boss in the game?
Pure vessel is also good though.
This was harder than anything in Cuphead.
The only shit boss is The Collector, and even then it's worth it for the lore.
WHERE THE FRICK IS SILKSONG
It was a bit long and the platforming was not as fun as Ori.
And the difficultly suddenly tripples when you do the carnival dlc.
Wow dlc increases the difficulty that has never happened before.
>doesn't even mention godhome
Yep, filtered.
Yeah I started with the pantheon but quit and never played the game again.
Point was the base game is too easy.
Why is this Fandom filled by homosexuals and trannies? Is it because the very minor but sad detail that the void took everything from vessels even their sexes?
>why are video games filled with homosexuals and trannies
because everything sucks
thankfully hollow knight only has one homosexual and you can kill him
and there's a subplot that tries to make two characters gay by making paintings and sculpting each other
they can't even be allowed to be perceived to be close bros, any male to male relationship is now gay
>/po/tard is a redditor
what a tweest
I think it's just what you've been trained to see, bro. You're just as bad as they are.
i just wish the white palace was replayable
god i love a fricking challenging platforming game that isn't the troony game Celeste

>wtf this 60 dollar game only lasted 5 hours what a ripoff
>wtf this 15 dollar game lasted 40 hours it was way too long
>wtf this 60 dollar game lasted 40 hours it's perfect
>wft this 15 dollar game lasted 10 hours it's perfect
Fixed
don't act like you've never had a game overstay its welcome
It has a really nice atmosphere. I could just walk around the map and enjoy the music and backgrounds for ages. Especially Greenpath and Queen's Gardens.
Yeah, because it's great.
Most fun boss fight.
It's dead simple but fun enough. I'm glad Hornet gets a dash by default in Silksong, first game was too fricking big in relation to the Knight's speed.
It really is, the fight music is probably my favourite in the game too.
Not a single metroidvania is "that good".
Blows my mind how hard metroidvanias filter Gankertards.
its just the newbie gachaBlack folk who can only play games that hold their hand and tell them where to go and what to do 24/7
yes it is
Dead Cells is much better.
>forced to not progress the game because it'll give you shit that objectively makes you weaker
yeah great design
troony art style
It sucks. Only the New England IPA-drinking Marvel fanboys had shilled it.
havn't seen anything better
zoomers will disagree
Only zoomers actually like this game. LMAO.
if you like this, you're mostly a zoomer or this was your first metroidvania game
It's fine not to like a game, but why is it that I've noticed that this particular game has a dedicated hate brigade attached to it? Did the game's dev frick your mom op?

Takes hours to actually get any fun.
>fat bug
Cloth? I don't think that was never confirmed, but Grey Mourner and Traitor Lord's daughter definitely were.
>The combat is piss easy
maybe I'm just bad bc late game bosses (nightmare king grimm) are filtering me hard atm
How good are we talking? It is a quality video game, that's all that matters.
It's an 8/10.
In fact, it might just be the most 8/10 game ever made.
It's a 6/10 until you've gotten the dash/wall climb, then it's a 7/10 until you get the shade dash/double jump and THEN it becomes an 8/10.
it's alright
the game's strongest point is its combat, so I didn't really fall in love with it until godmaster
