It was originally meant to not appear as a direct GGDP reference, a "if you know you know" so that morons get tricked into playing a panty game.
But some homosexual mobile game devs said the name Grim Guardians was too close to their shit no name game and people might think about it instead of their forgotten and dead piece of shit. So they had to change the Grim part to Gal
>It was originally meant to not appear as a direct GGDP reference, a "if you know you know" so that morons get tricked into playing a panty game.
Rumor has it that even the company president was tricked and told people things like "it doesn't have to be Gal Gun" when promoting the game.
Starting to think the same thing, don't mind the formula or it not being a metroidvaina though I would love to have seen Inti-create's take on Portrait of Ruin. That said there's just so many wide open areas that have pretty simple easily dealt with enemy placement. It feels like it's trying to be a modern "Vampire Killer" on the MSX where it has none of the tight intense action platforming of Classicvanias but a watered down exploration of Metroidvanias. The bosses aren't really that special either and the two characters emote verbally during gameplay way too much. Still haven't finished it yet so I'm hoping my opinion can be swayed. I love the graphics and visual effects like gore and bloodsplatter, it reminds me a lot of DSvanias
My main issue was the lack of a real map once the game decides it's sort of an Igavania after all. Other than that I had fun though it's far from Inti's peak. Really cute use of the Gal Gun characters and concepts.
No, the protagonists are sisters who were the main heroines in the game Gal Gun Double Peace where you could woo them as the male protagonist. He's in Gal Guardians as an npc and there is an ending where all the other girls fall in love with the sisters due to how pheromone powers work in the world of Gal Gun, but it's just comedic.
Uh oh. Is the Steam version uncensored?
It's not censorship, they legally had to change the word Grim to Gal because of patent-trolling buttholes.
Gal Guardians was fun. I enjoyed it enough to get to the secret final boss. Speaking of Inti Creates, anyone have a chance to try this during the demo fest?
Same shit as OP, nothing special. Like it would be amazing if it came out as an indie devs first game but Inti should be making more substantial shit by now.
They should be copying western games more, it's honestly kinda embarrassing that there are still japanese devs like inti creates that seem stuck in the past making games that look like they come from the 90s and 00s
But thats the entire appeal
And I dont know what you mean because I barely play western games, you mean having tons of modes that 3 people will play? Or make it a dumb rougelike?
Quit false flagging. But Inti creates does need to into 3D so we can get a new Master Blaster based on the 3d game

>Inti creates does need to into 3D
Frick no, they're some of the last devs still making QUALITY pixel art in the industry and you're asking them to be just as bland as everyone else. >b-buh indies
90% of them look like shit and are made by gays who don't know what the frick they're doing.
Not everything needs to be 4k 3D models. Let people who specialize in pixel art work their magic. Besides they have Gal Guns series that's 3D so it's not like they only make pixel style games.
i thought it was really fun. although the demo has you fight the same boss 3 times in different rooms, which i hope was just a one time gimmick for that boss and not setting the precedent for future bosses
yes. if you want to just beat the game you'll end up replaying most missions 2 or 3 times (as higher level versions) which isn't too bad unless you get unlucky and get no good drops.
It was better than the first in every way other than the music, that was a huge downgrade.
The fact that you had to play through it once to unlock the fun part makes it inferior. Plus most bosses and stages are worse and yes the music is crap. I was hyped as frick for it because I loved the original, but 2 was nowhere near as good.
>Plus most bosses and stages are worse
Sounds like a skill issue to me.

That's because you're an idiot. The game's no harder than the original. In fact, with the starting party it's a lot easier.

>The game's no harder than the original.
That's just straight up false. The level design is a lot more challenging, it throws more enemies at you at once and the bosses have more complex patterns. And that's not even taking into consideration Legend difficulty and single mode.
>paying more than twice the price to play the inferior Castlevania homage
Tranimegays are mentally ill and have no standards. Pic related mogged the frick outta Gay Guardians.
>mfw i bought this thinking it was castlevania with dead cells guy >mfw i realized i was tricked into buying dead cells >mfw playing and having fun didnt even realize i hit 100 hours. still on BC 1 though cause the game is frick you hard.
>Not only was that DLC weak, the Alucard weapon completely ruins the base game by making it comically easy. >Start my first run >alucard weapon drops early >beat the game without dying from start to finish >uninstall after my first run
I know youre supposed to beat it several times but that weapon fricking demotivated me beyond belief.
That was the whole point of the game I feel. Playing it single player is like playing a fighting game by yourself and wondering why people like it so much. Of course you don't get it if you're missing the whole point.
bro I could've told you that, it's an anime game
felt the same after the demo
they changed the name to Gal Guardians in the west
Some patent trolls forced them.
Do they protect the gyarus?
isnt it because it had some relation to galgun or something? i dont know the lore

I actually like the name change because it's closer to Gal Gun.
>trick westoids into buying a galgun game
delightfully devilish inti
Uh oh. Is the Steam version uncensored?
the only way to get the "uncensored" version, is by emulating the 1.0 switch game version.
What was different on the 1.0 version?
the title of the game
that's it

Is this a yuri game?

I wonder how many people scrolled by this aand think it's actually in the game
1.2 million people
brb buying the game right now
Is this even allowed?
I think that guy's channel trolls doujin games on the thumbnails for views.
People said that about the incest in TCOAAL, so does that mean this IS in the game?
Is doing this the new Ganker meme?
youtube clickbait has gone rampant recently. Especially with gaming content;. Fricking Gay
I actually saw edits I made in coffin thread getting used in israelitetuber thumbnails.
Gal Guardians was fun. I enjoyed it enough to get to the secret final boss. Speaking of Inti Creates, anyone have a chance to try this during the demo fest?
yeah I tried it, was pretty fun
dissapointed they localized a perfume for "normie perfume"
Same shit as OP, nothing special. Like it would be amazing if it came out as an indie devs first game but Inti should be making more substantial shit by now.
IMO Curse of the Moon 2 was their peak
Is COTM chronicles worth it for 25?
I may get it if so.
I'd say so, two great Classicvanias in one with a ton of replay value from each.
Gotcha. Thanks anon, i'll pick it up alter tonight.
what does substantial mean
you want cooking mechanics?

And thats why we love them and why the west and modern "japanesse" companies fail.

I tried the demo and was surprised how much I liked it, didn't love it but the trailer made it look just merely okay to me.
i thought it was nothing special
seems like it was created for more casual audience with the anime tie-in
Lacks dead idols
Loved it. Wish I had friends to play it coop
Luminous Avenger iX
Mighty Gunvolt Burst
Dragon Marked for Death
Blaster Master Zero (and probably 2 & 3)
They have quite a few good games.
>Dragon Marked for Death
Is the fabled grind really as bad as everyone claims? Only thing stopping me from bothering with it
yeah
yes. if you want to just beat the game you'll end up replaying most missions 2 or 3 times (as higher level versions) which isn't too bad unless you get unlucky and get no good drops.
It turns into a literal Panty Quest by the end. That makes it special.
Based if true. But if it does where's all the twitter articles calling the devs problematic sexist nazis?
"if true" jesus christ the game has been out for months. Yes there's a panty quest.
Sounds like bullshit to me
It requires you to play through the whole game TWICE to get to it. It's the post-game.
You think those moron journos beat it let alone twice?
What happened to Houdai after the first game?
Should have had a level system and an item store.
anyone ever photo copied the illustrations jp only ones?
Honestly, I was left a bit cold by the demo. It's aiming closer to Classicvania and that's perfectly fine but I dunno, it was merely okay.
I still bought it in the homes of getting an actual Gal Gun game or an Igavania-style sequel
It's great and better than both CotM games.
>It's great and better than both CotM games.
Nah
Cope. CotM2 was a massive disappointment.
How so?

Do intigays not actually care about gameplay?
name another game where I can collect panties
Still pretty good thoughever.
This is your final boss for tonight, say something nice about her.
Built for naizuri
>paying more than twice the price to play the inferior Castlevania homage
Tranimegays are mentally ill and have no standards. Pic related mogged the frick outta Gay Guardians.
Dead Cells is good but that DLC wasn't
>Dead Cells but it has a Konami IP attached to it
Holy Bazinga. This is truly better than a boutique crafted game.
>mfw i bought this thinking it was castlevania with dead cells guy
>mfw i realized i was tricked into buying dead cells
>mfw playing and having fun didnt even realize i hit 100 hours. still on BC 1 though cause the game is frick you hard.
Combat and gameplay was awesome, great Castlevania homage... But it's a roguelike, my only problem with it
incredibly shit taste. Not only was that DLC weak, the Alucard weapon completely ruins the base game by making it comically easy.
>Not only was that DLC weak, the Alucard weapon completely ruins the base game by making it comically easy.

Anon....
Imagine the smell
>Wait a meowment
>It's nothing special
true
I still liked it
was pretty fun. I would get 100% but it seems a little cancer to get...
I enjoy but i wish there was more
Mega Man 9 and 10 were the only good games made by Inti.
Fun in coop. Very chaotic.
That was the whole point of the game I feel. Playing it single player is like playing a fighting game by yourself and wondering why people like it so much. Of course you don't get it if you're missing the whole point.
