It flopped on PS5, too, and the Switch is too weak to run it.
          >inb4 It had no marketing for the PS5
It had the same amount of advertising as Sea of Thieves on PS5, and that game ended up being the best-selling PS5 game in Eupore and 3rd best in the US and Canada.
The truth is that the gays complaining about it flopping are the same gays that didn't care enough to actually play it.

Then Sony is going to win out then. They have the superior console and superior games compared to Shitendo who just makes unpowered crap and children's toys. You will never find a more SOULFUL game like the TLOU 2 on the Nintendo b***h. You will not find a better fps like HellDivers 2 on the Pisswitch. Persona 3 Reloaded, Demon Souls remake, Elden Ring. The list goes on.

It is over for Nintendo. I would recommend you sell your Switch for whatever you can get for it cause it ain't going to be worth shit soon.

Not that guy, but Nintendo is making so much fricking money right now. They aren't spending money on acquisitions. They have no debt. The have no shareholders that they're legally required to suck off. Their liquid assets are enough to keep them going for 100 years. They're making a mockery of every other publisher and hardware dev. In terms of who is winning and who is untouchable, it is definitely Nintendo. Strictly business speaking.

Microsoft's net worth is based on their entire ecosystem, though, not just gaming. Same for Sony. Nintendo is still the most stable of the 3. When you ask people which of the 3 is most likely to still be around in 50 years, they're going to say Nintendo.

          More fun numbers:
          >Tencent: $562.1 billion

The bigger question is why it took Microsoft this long to properly intervene. They could easily look at any news article and see that their gaming division wanted to acquire a company for nearly $70 billion. They also have tons of data to look back on too before realizing that making that investment back would be very difficult, especially with the increasing demands that comes with making AAA games. Why the frick would they let it go through in the first place.

      >rare saved for now because they're all in on picrel
      >perfect dark sucks
      >rare closes next

Rare isnt working on the Perfect Dark reboot IIRC. That's down to some "AAAA" studio called "The Initiation", but nobody has heard shit since.

        >The bigger question is why it took Microsoft this long to properly intervene.
Because they made Phil president and let him take a whack at Xbox for a while. A lot of what he did seemed good, but now they decided to replace him with some person I've never heard of before who decided to start their career by closing down a few studios and then telling everybody they're going into phones again.
        >They could easily look at any news article and see that their gaming division wanted to acquire a company for nearly $70 billion.
I'm fairly certain Microwiener's own higher ups approved that deal.

        >rare isn't working on pd
point taken but as dumb as microsoft is they probably don't torch rare like they did bungie and kill another franchise. rare is a name they don't want to lose for now even if they have nothing to do with the current game. as long as rare makes nice esg news stories and their IP doesn't flop they can stay. otherwise they've outsourced so much development to india for sea of thieves there's not a reason for them to exist on their main moneymaker

other takes and some are not hot
activision stays. cod replaced army of one as the usmil recruiting game. probably funded by usg directly. recruiters hated new soldiers trying to win by being fast and bunny hopping like quake and ut so arena shooter dead and realistic shooter is the new thing and the army made its own game. cod took over as a more fun version
blizzard gets mass layoffs because it can't make money with esg rules. skins and new heroes don't sell in overwatch. d4 sucks. wow can't keep subscribers for more than a month at a time.
ms buys embracer group for cash sits on them for a couple years and starts a frickton of layoffs
studios like the one that made ori and probably had a decent return on investment get shut down for not making enough to compensate for the moronic acquisitions
blackrock realizes they can't condition people into being morons in just a few years without more trillions and fricks off

        >Why the frick would they let it go through in the first place.
Because it's not about Xbox. It's about the Microsoft ecosystem. It's the same thing Google and many others are doing. If someone uses 1 product, they'll be more likely to use another with the same logo. iPhone, Apple watch, MacBook, Apple TV, AirPods, it all snowballs.

Nobody really knows for certain, but there have been some leaks about Microsoft following Apple, making the move to ARM in the home PC market, and providing OEMs a limited selection of ARM SOCs to choose from for new systems they sell.

Those systems would obviously be incompatible with PC gaming, so they would be merging the platforms essentially 'Xbox' will be ARM Windows.
Basically the move that insiders at Microsoft have been talking about for around a decade, which is actually pretty fast for them.

  24. 2 weeks ago

probably. the trick is getting an ip that people like on mobile because it kills if it's the right formula. i think FEH made more than all the real fire emblem games.

They'll just be ARM Windows boxes with certain set hardware profiles.

That is how Microsoft will finally realize their dream of the clean break they've wanted to make.
No more Steam, and Microsoft will have total control of gaming through "Microsoft Gaming".

Even if Steam isn't completely blocked, an ARM version of Steam has nothing to run, or would have to emulate everything like it does on MacOS.
Which works so poorly it has been driving Linux adoption among former MacOS users.
