You know that morphing Mario face in SM64? Nintendo could put that on a Switch cart for $60 with absolutely no added features, not even the rest of the game, and I guarantee they'd still sell out.
I disagree. Imagine how many collectorgays would buy it or curious people who think there's more to it. Sure there might be a lot of used copies floating around but keep it limited release and it'll do fine.
Nobody thought it was okay. Thankfully they made so many cartridges I could buy one years later for like $30 and only because my fiancee never played Mario 64 as a kid. Some of the effects are wrong like the snowflakes having a black border instead of fading around that edges and there's no >So long, gay Bowser!
but it's playable. Widescreen Sunshine is cool but a little awkward without proper triggers. Galaxy is practically unplayable on Switch Lite.
>Nintendo warns everyone that it’s a limited time release and that you should get it asap if you’re interested >even give you an exact date >Ganker: LOL who cares about tendieslop? >game sells out >Ganker: WTF IT’S NOT FAIR! WHY DIDN’T THEY GIVE US A CHANCE?! FRICKING YELLOW israeliteS! THIS IS LITERALLY WHITE GENOCIDE! AHHH! SAVE ME JIM RYAN!
This alongside the recent remakes of the Mario RPGs show just how scared Nintendo is of reselling their library of games. They don't want you to keep playing Melee or Brawl, they want you to move on to Ultimate.
I really fail to see the logic here. No amount of artificial scarcity would ever beat having the collection available on the eShop, even Skyward Sword sold a shitton of copies at 60 bucks.
The logic is the fomo from the limited release time would drive up sales exponentially in the immediate both just from tendies who want to have it and like

brought up the collectorgays would nab as many physical copies as they can. In more relatable terms, it's the difference between just making a post and making the post with the best timing possible (ex: fpbp) to get max (You)s whether the post in question was particularly poignant or not.
I dunno but I salute Nintendo for making so many people seethe for decades, especially western people.
Actually it was criminal they didn't include Galaxy 2
Galaxy 2 will be on switch 2 for $70, gaijin scum.
Already on my wii. Sorry you missed out.
Given what they did with this collection, the more they omitted the better.
I bought it. Why should I care about morons that waited too long to get theirs?
Does what anon?
to be fair if I had a fanbase this afflicted with stockholm syndrome I'd milk them for every penny their parents were worth as well.
This, it was a social experiment and it clearly worked

Probably not but for $20 as a download only it would definitely sell more than it deserves to

Yeah israelitetindo knows that tendies are mentally disabled
It wasn't, and people were rightfully pissed about it when it came out
So pissed that they went out in droves to buy the frick out of it

I paid $40 and got Sunshine and Galaxy on a handheld, now it is worth more than I paid for and I am supposed to be angry for some reason.

why are you so disingenuous?

I get that but what's the point if you're going to end up making less money?
only nintendo could find a way to run out of digital inventory
And only tendies could find a way to defend nintendo doing this nonsense
did you assume that was meant to be a defense
I emulated it on the Steam Deck lol
It's not but if any company in this industry has earned the right to be jerks it's ninty and you cannot argue it.
I played this, I didn't pay for it.
I'd gladly would have, but when I had the money to do so, it was no longer available.
This, the orange box, and the Zelda master collection are great. I wish there were more releases like it.
