It does have some cognitive load attached to it as you always have to be aware when talking about a person---remember others WILL get offended on behalf of the one(s) misgendered---but we can be glad that most of the nonsense made up pronouns are gone.

For trans people it's just "nice to have" thing. It's also piss-easy to implement for developers and, either because they genuinely want to be inclusive or just score some positive PR, so it's a no-brainer for a game that distinguishes between "he/she/they" voice-lines.

This is a pretty simple change (just set a flag differently) that doesn't affect 99.9% of players, but is a nice-to-have feature for people who create a trans character.
