Ganker is the only place that thinks the story of LJ is bad
LJ story had good moments but the sum of its parts is weak. Nothing happens for 5 chapters, then they put 60% of the plot between chapter 5-8, then its filler until the final chapter.
Antagonists were weak and you are just wailing on beat thugs for most of the game
sawa dying was dumb, yagami giving a frick about her was awkward also because you barely interact with her and when you do she tells you to frick off multiple times. At least they gave us kaito files i guess.
I don't necessarily think the story of LJ was bad. I liked the intrigue with Kuwana. I think the actual mystery you had to uncover as a detective was half baked. You present the map of the subway with a blind spot in the cameras like 10 times. School stories were the real heart of the game.

For fans of the series post Yakuza 0, basically. Some people need to play story games where they can absorb the voice acting instead of having to always read the subtitles. These people have ADHD and need to be doing something else while gaming so Japanese dub doesn't work for them
I only played LAD dubbed because they brought back Kiryu's VA from Y1. Then they went and cast yong for kiryu so the dub is worthless for me. Why the frick did they bring him back in the first place if they were gonna replace him after one game.
I think they casted Yongyea because he's an eceleb and that wpuld attract more people to series in their eyes. Just look at how they inserted literal whos into Isshin for no good reason

How's the person he was avenging going to like that? That his old teacher blackmailed his old classmates to kill random people and they enlisted his mother to help with all of it all in his name? The guy would probably be horrified and kill himself for real.
