It's not over. Legends was proof that there are people who hear us and still give a shit, even if the working conditions suck wiener. SV had a little bit of Legends bleed into it but the development cycles just do not accommodate actual coordination like that. SwSh was the ultimate show of stagnation while SV was the ultimate show of developer incompetence, but the latter also showed there was an interest in doing something different with the mainline games.
Ohmori is a MASSIVE problem right now and I think we genuinely underrate just how much damage having him in the director's chair is doing. Obviously there are more factors at play but his priorities are completely fricked and he seems to have a limerent level of fixation on his characters. I understand he probably keeps getting the job because no one else wants to be responsible when things are clearly falling apart internally, but Ohmori comes off as almost unaware of the problems themselves. He needs to be full-on booted. His best game was a remake people found generally underwhelming.
