Pokémon games won't be good again because they've decided that what a Pokémon game used to be is outdated
Pokemon is a merchandise company at this point. The games only need to be made to make new designs "official" so they can be sold as plushies/cards/toys/etc.
So they are intentionally as barebones as possible.
The last game had designs are almost universally hated. All they got now is nostalgia. It’s hello kitty for millennials hooked on anime and Nintendo. Why do you think they keep remaking old mons. Their new ideas suck. so the merch follows. This series is rotting at its core

Pokemon was never good, it was always a shit tier rpg it just managed to appeal to kids at its onset and its been propped up by weebs and the Japanese audience since then.
PLA and SV were good so there actually is hope though.
PLA felt halfbaked at best but even with all it’s bugs and performance issues I did actually enjoy SV. It’s weird to feel slight hope for the series after LGPE and SwSh happened.
